oh Glasto you poor thing. I don't have any words of wisdom, but am thinking of you and DH.
Even if there is something wrong, at least you are finding out now so there is a chance to fix whatever it is.
I wont say try not to worry because it is impossible. But do breathe deeply, have a glass of wine, and look after each other for the next few days.

And come and rant on here whenever you need to!!!

josiejellybean · 10/06/2008 21:59

Hi glasto be warned this is TMI !!!! just wanted to say we had a similar situation with my Dh test results and we got called in.... im presuming he had a sperm test? my Dh came back low but we got asked to do it again and it came back fine... it was because we hadn't collected ALL the sample it had to be the 'pre' bit aswell as it keeps things alive longer on the tranfer to be tested iuswim i hope that helps good luck XXX

By the way when the stats are updated im CD 10 today cycle 5 thanx

Glasto So sorry to hear abut DH's results, I will keep everything crossed until Thursday, it may not be as bad as you think. Keep your chin up hun you know where we are if you need to talk, or have a hug, or have some virtual chocolate naughtiness

glastochick · 11/06/2008 09:03

Thanks Lou and Mollie. Josie, that sounds promising. I will have to ask him whether he included the pre bit in the sample pot too as I wasn't there to 'supervise'. I am hoping that he will be asked to provide another sample and that will give him the all clear, or at least an improved result.

He's got an appointment tomorrow to see the Dr to discuss his results.

I'm afraid to say I had a bit of a wobble last night and convinced myself this was the end of the story for us, and worked myself up into a panic about seeing the in laws in a couple of weeks when DH's niece will be there (very very cute and always increases my broodiness). I didn't sleep very well, but have resolved this morning that if we have to investigate the route of assisted conception then I will be prepared for that. But that is only if assisted conception can be achieved with DH's sperm.

MollieMooma · 11/06/2008 09:18

Glasto It's only natural and normal to have a "wobble" and to think the worse! But glad to hear your trying to put a positive spin on things and thinking of your options.
Moonlit is dh still alive

Hi MollieMooma, Emma and the rest of the gang.

MollieMooma my DH is still alive, just about . Well he didn't get any dinner last night. He is off abroad on business next week, so I am making him go in, again, but unfortunately like Emma, I will have to help him . Bloody men!!!!

To tell you the truth, TTC since October 2006 is starting to take it's toll. So I am prepared to do anything .

God help me!!!!!!

Moonlit Good luck I know what you mean, we've been TTC since June 06 its a long hard slog isn't it!

emma2617 · 11/06/2008 10:23

Glasto Totally understand the wobble moment, I was a bit doom and gloom when we got the letter from the doctor after DPs first sample saying that there were raised levels of abnormality and could he provide another sample. Then when we went for the results we found out his little men were 94% abnormal, and the good ones were't terribly mobile!! But then again I hadn't been trying as long as you have. Kepp positive though, you don't know what they will say, and even if it's not great news it might not be as bad as you think. Please keep us posted!

Moonlit Good luck with the "helping hand" it is quite a new experience...things are just hotting up...then you have to reach for your little pot (which in our case was very small, the opening was no more that 2 cms wide - making aim quite difficult!! Sorry TMI!) it is a serious mood killer!! I then had to return to work completely unsatified!!!!

scully · 11/06/2008 12:21

Hi Everyone
Hope dh's news isn't too bad Glasto, can understand you having wobbles though.
Hope your 'helping hand' goes ok Moonlit and you can get dh's sample tested soon.
We have had yet more delays in being able to ttc again. I got the all clear from the hospital, which was great, and then last week dh was diagnosed with whooping cough. Which would explain why he had been so ill for the past month. But of course last Friday I needed to have a whooping cough vaccination and a course of antibiotics 'just in case', so can't ttc until 4wks after the vaccination. As af has arrived today, on cd29, I don't think we'll be able to ttc this month either, as we'll still be in that 4wk period after the vaccination Hardly anything major, and just requires some patience on my part, but I'm a bit over waiting now

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have a bit of a wobble Emma . Have had good and bad moments today. DH is being so strong, and it must be making it worse for him seeing me upset too. How did your DH react to the news?

What did your Dr say the options were for you and your DH after his results came back?

emma2617 · 11/06/2008 13:03

Glasto DP was alright, he was preparing himself for the worst! He had testicular cancer a few years ago so the treatment affected his fertility, he was expecting to be told he was infertile so he breathed a sigh of relief.

Because we don't know about me yet as they wouldn't test because had not been TTC over 12 months and there is no family history Dr assumed I am fine and said that DPs fertility isn't as good as they would like but there is still hope and to quote, she said "it only takes one"!! As long as there are some good ones in there all is not lost!

He did feel a little guilty as he thinkds that if we can't conceive it will be his fault...especially cos all I want is a baby!! But only time will tell!

glastochick · 11/06/2008 13:56

Sorry to hear he had cancer Emma. DH hasn't had anything like that, and the rest of the men in his family seem to breed like rabbits, so I'm at a bit of a loss to understand . I suppose I have to be patient and wait until tomorrow before finding out exactly what the diagnosis is and what it means for us as a couple. I'm hoping the results will show that there are some strong swimmers as that will give me hope.

Like you, I just want a baby!

emma2617 · 11/06/2008 14:03

I hope it all goes well...try and get a good nights sleep so you are alert at the Drs, we had to make a 2nd appt cos we were in a bit of a daze when she was talking!! Try to take as much in as possible and if you have any questions, write them down before you go in as all of mine completely escaped my head as soon as she told us the result!

Please let us know how it goes!!

Hope all are well, will read back later. So tired as our plane was delayed and we got in at 6am

Glasto Do keep us updated hun
Beanie Sorry to see you back at the top, typical TEW style to arrive in the middle of your hols. Where did you go? Nice to see you back

JustJaamy · 11/06/2008 23:34

Hello all!

Huge hugs Glasto - good luck to you and DH for tomorrow's appt. Hopefully it will be something as simpla as the sample just not being 'complete'. If not, hope it's something easily rectified. Good on you for being positive about assisted conception.

Beanie (hope you had a nice hol apart form unwanted visitor), Moonlit, Blackrock - sorry to see you back at the wrong end of that list again.

Scully - poor you, if it isn't one thing, it's another. You must have the patience of a saint. Keep your chin up, you'll get there in the end

Boooooo! to Mr Moonlit. Has he been putting it off because he's worried about the results. I know it may be difficult to talk to him because he's been a very naughty boy but maybe he needs a bit of reassurance?

Am CD2 today. Hurrah for having a CB Moonlit this time round! It would seem that the spotting I had on CD21 was in fact AF making a very unnervingly brief appearance and she is back again now. Don't know whether this means my cycles have shortened to 21 days (for the first time in my life) or lengthened to 35-40 days. All I can say is that I'm so glad that I am off on hols in 10 days and can relax and then try and work out this TTC thing when I get home. Who knows, perhaps will be a little Lanzarote bean.

hope you are all doing ok

LittleSquirt · 12/06/2008 12:40

Hi girls - still checking this thread regularly and hoping for new BFPs.

Ei - I am so sorry this is happening to you again. Life is really unfair I am sending you big hugs xxx

glastochick · 12/06/2008 12:43

I don't think there's a word to describe how I'm feeling. Devastated seems too mild. DH has a zero sperm count. We're being referred to the fertility clinic. It could be caused by a blockage, which they can treat, but if not.....

DH is an absolute mess. I feel really bad for putting him through this.

Bless him, I am going to meet him in a bit. He is making his way into work. I don't know I'm going to get through today, let alone him.

emma2617 · 12/06/2008 13:44

Glasto I'm so sorry. I know you're going to be feeling like hell, it is totally understandable. But as you said he is a mess and he is going to be feeling equally as bad, if not worse.

I know my situation isn't the same as DP has some viable sperm, but I was so self absorbed for the first few days I didn't really look after him.

The chances are the main reason your DH will be a mess is because he is going to feel like he has let you down and he can't give you what you want.

I know this is MUCH easier said that done, but in an ideal world you should use this time while DH is at work to try and get your head a little more sorted so you can be there for him a little when he gets home.

I'm so sorry...huge virtual hugs!

Do you know how long your referral will take?
