Should I prepare for the worse?

Hi ladies. I'm currently 13DPO. AF is due on Wednesday. I got a vv faint positive at 9/10DPO. Iv had 3 consecutive miscarriages so my anxiety is through the roof. Going to call EPAU this morning as I can self refer. These are my latest test (the digi was taken yesterday at 12DPO) just looking for a bit of support, re assurance or for some honesty.

@Livingonhope please bear in mind that there's a huge range of normal values in hCG results.

It's pointless asking women for their results.

The only thing that matters is that the hCG value increases exponentially in line with the first value.

JNicko · 18/04/2024 19:17

@Livingonhope yes I agree with @TheShellBeach what matter is the HCG is rising at a suitable rate. Not worth comparing to others levels. My scan is on Tuesday at 8:30am! I'm glad it's nice and early. Meant to be 6 weeks but I have a feeling I may be 5w 6d or maybe even 5w 5d. Just got everything crossed it's good news.

@JNicko a couple of days out is nothing to worry about!

Beeches24 · 18/04/2024 20:21

Good luck for Tuesday. Your line progression is really good. Early scans aren't too reliable at 6weeks so don't stress too much if it's a couple of days out.

Livingonhope · 18/04/2024 20:38

thanks all I will drop off the chat

There's no need to drop off the chat.
We just said that hCG levels vary very widely, even at the same gestation.

What matters is the rate at which they rise, not what the levels are.

@JNicko how are you feeling about tomorrow?

Morning lovely, I'm not too bad just nervous. Just have to hope everything is ok. We have moved home the last few days so that's probably helped to take my mind off things. Felt like my symptoms have worn off though so that's bothered me a bit.

Just had scan. They saw gestational sac and yolk sac but no baby yet. So they have dated me at less than 5 weeks. Iv got to go for another scan in 2 weeks and they are prescribing me progesterone x

Hopefully all is ok @JNicko. I had a scan dated 5+3 which just showed empty sac, no yolk. Everything was fine.

I'm sorry you're not feeling reassured OP.

You know yourself that those very early scans can be out by millimetres. Probably, everything is okay.

I'm glad you got the progesterone and I'll be keeping everything crossed for you when you have your next scan.

Thank you! I just don't understand how my dates are wrong when I know when I ovulated. EPAU said everything looks fine and not to worry about the date difference because I have PCOS and my periods are irregular

@JNicko how far along do you think you are going by your dates? When I went I was 5+3 where they saw the gestational sac and the start of a yolk sac but they dated me as 5+3 so not sure why they’re saying below 5 weeks for you when you’ve got the yolk sac there?

According to my app and when I ovulated I thought I was 5w 6d. Yes I was a bit confused...they have just dated me as 5w or less. Suppose everything is in the right place etc so that's good x

I truly wouldn't worry about a few days difference at this stage.

@JNicko oh gosh yeah definitely don’t worry! I’d say a gestational sac and yolk sac is really positive at 5+6!!
