Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

Didn't get it - got an interview but was up against 7 others who were older/more experienced.
I have had nearly 2 weeks off for this (all A/L) but the clinic have written me a letter signing me off for two weeks, so if this cycle doesn't work I shall probably be approaching HR to claim back my A/L. Having siad that if it doesn't work we won't be able to afford a holiday, so there's little point in getting A/L back. Next time we do IVF I will only take a few days off for the actual EC-ET period and fit scans in around work, then get the clinic to sign me off afterwards.

Gosh, looks like I missed all the fun last night! Sadly, I was even older than all of you when Dirty Dancing first came out.

Gilly Glad the IUI and interview both went ok. Thanks for the offer to meet up - may well take you up on that if I have to go back for any appointments on my own.

I didn't think I would get it as I'm really too inexperienced to do the job, but it was worth a shot

Gilly Our first appointment is next Monday afternoon. Am currently trying to get hold of various test results to take with me - with limited success, I have to admit involving to-ing and fro-ing between the GP and consultant's secretary. My HSG results don't seem to have made it on to anyone's system yet, though I suppose the ACU will just have to write to the hospital and ask for them directly if I can't get them.

Also got a huge envelope of information this morning from the ACU which mentioned that DH will need to do a sperm sample before the appointment. (I'd specifically asked about any tests when I booked the appointment and been told nothing would be done) Just have to break the news to him now!

Gilly I know exactly what you mean about feeling nothing has happened - it feels at the moment like I've made it all up somehow as I don't feel any different to normal. I have progesterone pessaries to keep lining nice and thick though, they're very messy!
Are you going to buy in London then?

Nomore Hope the progesterone pessaries are doing their job.

Gilly That would be excellent if your current tenants buy the house - one less thing for you to sort out. House buying and selling is so stressful.

Have broken the news to DH about the SA on Monday - can't say he's ecstatic about it. We have to turn up 45 minutes before the appointment. Having to submit it in advance wouldn't have been much good this week - I think I ovulated on Day 15 (as opposed to my usual Day 12) so poor DH has been kept busy and is probably a bit worn out. Not sure if the disgusting tasting Chinese herbs I'm taking have affected the first part of my cycle or whether it's just a random blip. Time will tell.

I skimmed through all the information from UCH-ACU last night - lots of stuff about paying your bills on time and various consent forms though it looks like we wouldn't need to sign these just yet. There is a glossy booklet with lots of info about IVF but nothing much about IUI. Have told DH I'd like him to know the difference before we have the appointment though he did mention that as both I and the doctor know what we're talking about, he's sure he'll be ok. Will leave the relevant chapters in Zita West's book strategically positioned for weekend reading .

PiggyPenguin · 06/06/2008 13:14

Hey all, glad to hear that things are moving for you Hobnobs and hope that the appointment goes well.

38+5 here now. DD said to me this morning, is Jamie going to be here soon mummy? And I said, I really really hope so! No signs yet though although I have started the raspberry leaf tea. Fingers crossed for this weekend...

Wow this thread has been busy over the last week!

Scotland was great in terms of weather - couldn't have asked for better weather on the west coast (got properly wet once, and even that not driving rain, drizzled for a couple of hours on 2 other days, rest of the time sunshine). Pity ds couldn't have been a bit more restful - I think that the lack of routine was not good for him and he was a little * (please add in whatever word you want there, it would probably be appropriate!). Although, when he was being good he was delightful - and we even went to a quite posh restaurant and got stopped by someone in the ladies afterwards saying how good ds had been...

Good luck with the 2ww. No chance here I'm afraid - single beds only!

PiggyPenguin · 09/06/2008 13:59

God this waiting is killing me. 39+1 today. DH keeps ringing me to see if I have started yet and then starts tutting because he can't come home yet.

Nomore, how are you getting on with the wait? If you are being patient, could you send some of that patience my way?

scorpio1 · 09/06/2008 14:00

sybil - try another 2 weeks, lol!!!!

nomoremagnolia · 09/06/2008 14:10

I'm doing my best to be patient, but unlike you I know it could be bad news so I'm putting off the disappointment as much as I'm putting off the good news IYSWIM?
Jamie will be here in his own good time

I was 41+4 with ds1 and I swear I will explode if I have to go that overdue again. I'm ready now!! Also it has been so hot today I have been feeling really awful.

Nomore, I can understand that you have ambivalent feelings about finding out whether you have been successful or not, all our fingers and toes are crossed fo you though.r

scorpio1 · 09/06/2008 19:12

sybil, come on Jamie! Does Jamie have a middle name? Ours is Levi.

NM - it must be such a rollercoaster.

mistlethrush · 10/06/2008 09:05

I wish ds was a bit older (and therefore had large duvet) and then I would get him this www.linenstore.co.uk/kids-bedrooms-1118/monsters-bedding-1163/scary-monsters-duvet-cover-set-2837.ht ml

(Thought we hadn't been doing enough shopping recently)

Come on Jamie. Sybil - do you know anyone that does accupuncture - I got my accupuncturist to 'encourage' and ds did arrive a week early, much to my relief!

littleladylollipop · 10/06/2008 11:37
