Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

I was 9 in 1987. First saw the film when I was about 11/12. Totally missed the pg/abortion storyline though just loved the dancing
ciroc is a cross between salsa and rock and rool (I think)

glad the typing errors aren't just limited to me!!
One thing I still haven't worked out though - at the end (after the last show rehersal) where Baby's sister goes to sleep with Robbie, then he's obviously got another girl in there and she runs away, then we see Baby and Jonny kissing/cuddling outside his room, then Vivien sees them - well has she (Vivien) just come out of Robbie's room or somewhere else?

I can't belieeeeeve I missed this discussion!

nomore - "I was 9 in 1987. First saw the film when I was about 11/12. Totally missed the pg/abortion storyline though" - I was 8 and me too!

I organised a showing of this as my college's film evening for my birthday. Usually it was some arty film and at most two people would be sitting in the JCR watching it. My birthday - practically every girl in college came and we all brought our duvets down and spoke along with all the dialogue. Memories, memories!

And the soundtrack! Oh, you've got me started now.....

Gilly I would have thought she'd have had a super posh one (rich DH) One like the Houseman's as Max (Kellerman) says to Doc Houseman that he's saved the best cabin for him - so guess Vivien's would be near that?
Bella - Glad I'm not the only one who was sweet and innocent. I couldn't understand why my Mum was cross that BF's Mum had let us watch it as I didn't 'get' the more 'adult' themes. I can't say how many times I watched it before it dawned on me why Doc Houseman was cross with Jonny because Penny had a tummyache!!!

JCR Bella? Which posh uni did you go to? (said in a light-hearted jokey way, of course!:P)

scorpio1 · 04/06/2008 09:07

3 of my classmates have just finished there. so you can be normal and go there, lol!

no i didn't watch it last night.

PiggyPenguin · 04/06/2008 09:48

I can't believe I missed the opportunity to have a girlie dirty dancing night in with you all!! And yes, I do know all the words. I also think the bit were she feels his bum (lucky lucky girl) is the bit I would reproduce with PS given the opportunity.

I am so pi**ed I missed this now! And to think I spent the evening watching National Treasure 2 instead. What a waste!

at National Treasure 2 sybil
We can watch Beauty and the Beast together this afternoon if you like?
Bella I'm not snobby about Oxford (or any of the posh unis), it's just that my lil sis went to Durham and she had a JCR - we only had a union at my uni and I used to wind her up her about it

Still mooching around at home. Not feeling too much either way. It's weird I have to keep reminding myself that it's not over yet, because we have no more appointments I am sort of thinking we've finished IVF. Not that it's failed, just that the process is finished IYSWIM? Expect next week I will be a bag of nerves though!
