Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

I got up at 5am this morning and took the dog for a walk - before getting dh and ds up at 6.10 (in fact, woke dh up and ds came in to help!) Nice bird song. Pity it wasn't a bit sunnier though...

nomoremagnolia · 28/04/2008 11:24

I'm here too, yes it is very quiet. Hasn't anyone got any good knitting projects on at the moment?

Nomore sorry you're feeling down. Blame the drugs and just things - hopefully some sunshine will come at some stage in the next month or so, and that might make us all feel a bit better.

Gilly Cable isn't difficult. I've not had anyone to teach me knitting - my granny that was fantastic died when I was 10 having only managed to teach me how to crochet by then. I have taught myself to cable based on the instructions you get on the pattern - usually quite detailed - it usually tells you how many stitches to pick up on the cable needle (unworked), whether to hold it in front or behind as you work the next 1 - 3 stitches etc. Ds has a cream cardi (now outgrown) that has LOTS of cabling - front, back and sleeves - if you're just starting, try to go for a pattern that only has one panel of cabling either side of the front and perhaps up the middle of the sleeves rather than one that has cabling from one end of the row to the other! I think that the worst thing about doing cabling is to remember where you are in the row when you are setting the pattern up, and then which row you're on.

nomoremagnolia · 28/04/2008 14:27

they invite 800-1000 per day so you should be there soon. Have only had the chance to listen to the IVF CD once so far and a bl**dy double glazing salesman phoned in the middle of it

Gilly why don't you start it now, then she can help you with it if you need it and otherwise she can just admire!

hobnobs · 29/04/2008 08:52

Hello everyone.

Sorry, I've not posted for over a week. Spent most of last week on tenterhooks over whether AF would arrive. (Was hoping against hope that it wouldn't - partly because I had a little of what I thought might be implantation bleeding on Weds). Anyway, it clearly wasn't as AF turned up on Friday, a little earlier than expected. Have to admit to spending 24 hours feeling really down about it . I've also spoken to the hospital about booking my HSG but they're not sure they'll be able to fit me in this cycle (not helped by the fact that my days 9 & 10 - the latest they'll do it - fall at the weekend). However, the nurse did say I'll be top of the list for next time

Anyway, that's enough self-indulgent misery from me! Have told DH not to make any plans for Bank Holiday weekend so we have a good chance next time!

Ready Hope ear infection is improving - it sounds really painful.

((Nomore)) Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Gilly Sorry to hear about AF but I'm impressed by your JL outing!

Big wave to everyone else.

mistlethrush · 29/04/2008 15:19

Hi Hobnobs - sorry af got you . Hope that you get a booking for HSG sooner rather than later.

Just got appointment for allergy clinic for a paracetamol 'trial' - as the prick test didn't come out positive, only way to find out if I'm allergic to it is to feed me some and see what happens . Now I'm REALLY looking forward to that as you can imagine! At least this time I won't have to brave the A&E as I'll be there already...

nomoremagnolia · 30/04/2008 07:56

Hi MT hope the paracetamol trial gives you the answers you want even if it's not going to be nice at least it's monitored.
It's very quiet still - where is everyone?? I know Ready's poorly and I guess scorpio is otherwise occupied but where are the rest of you?

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 30/04/2008 08:25

I'm still here, but, yes, its a bit echoy in here today isn't it... HEEEELLLLLOOOOOO... ANYONE OUT THERE??????

scorpio1 · 30/04/2008 09:23

MT - that sounds a little scary....

It has been quiet here Millie is doing well, sleeping like an angel and feeding is going great.

mistlethrush · 30/04/2008 09:55

Scorpio - very pleased to hear that Millie is doing well and feeding still going fine. Very re the sleeping! Mind you, you probably expected her to sleep and got her into a routine better than 1st time mums would be able to do...

Glad Millie is behaving herself, Scorpio

Gilly I wasn't very happy about the HSG either so sent an email to the nurse who organises the HSG appts yesterday morning (they use an answerphone so wasn't much point in ringing) making the point that as I worked from home, I was happy to come at very little notice (I must sound desperate !) Anyway, she's just rung me to tell me they've got an appointment tomorrow afternoon . Will need to work hard to meet a deadline I've got for tomorrow now but glad I'll get it out of the way.

Mistlethrush Paracetamol trial sounds a bit scary but hopefully it will give you the answers you need.

Nomore Hope you're feeling better today - I was reading the bit about IVF at the end of the Zita West book yesterday and it sounds as if it's quite normal to be a bit down at this stage.

nomoremagnolia · 02/05/2008 15:42

Hobnobs hope your HSG went (is going?) well
I've finished knitting some more ugg boots for baby makecakesnotwar/flosspot they're on my profile if you're not bored of looking at photos of my knitting yet

Thanks, Nomore. Am back from my HSG now. Can think of better ways to spend my Friday afternoon! The nurse and radiographer were very friendly but were having a few computer problems so I was sat there waiting in my gown in the room for a while before we could start (quite glad I'd not climbed up on the bed as they kept calling people in to sort it out!) And then, when she did start, the warmed-up solution she'd prepared to wash down under was no longer warm and the first speculum she used didn't seem to do the trick. Anyway, they got it done but have to admit to closing my eyes and gritting my teeth in discomfort when the dye was going round so didn't see it on the screen (must be a bit of a wimp). As to the outcome, they told me that they weren't able to interpret the results but did say that it spilled from both sides which sounds positive. Guess I'll have to wait for the next appointment with the consultant to find out if there was anything else to it (am naturally paranoid there's something they weren't telling me!). I feel fine now though so glad it's over with. Just need to get DH to get his blood test out the way and hopefully we can bring forward the next appointment from August.

The boots are gorgeous - I'm so impressed!

hobnobs · 02/05/2008 17:39

X-posted (took me so long to write!) Have a lovely time in Dorset, Gilly.
