Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

gilly have sent you a message on Ravelry (assuming the gillydaffodil on there who joined today is actually you!) - basically you can use your notebook to store all the things you've made/are making and you can link to the pattern and see other people who have knitted the same. Start by looking in my notebook at the debbie bliss hat and then on the right hand side you can see the pattern and there's a lnk there that says X projects where you can click and see other people who've knitted the same hat. It's all explained in a video demo on the site too if that didn't make any sense!

How is everyone?? I have missed out on a fair bit haven't I... there is no way I will catch up. Someone quick, tell me the crucial stuff that I have missed?

More ugg boots from Nomore... I can't wait to get pregnant for them alone

How's everyone loving the bankholiday weather? I am loving it, although I am stuck indoors as the back garden needs mowing, and I am rubbish, but don't want my neighbours to see me doing sweet f.a. while I could be mowing

hobnobs · 05/05/2008 16:12

Hello and welcome back Ready. Was thinking about sending out a search party for you so glad you're back. How's your ear infection? Read your note on the TTC no1 forever thread (am nosy!) and glad you're just taking it easy and looking forward to the holiday - when do you go?

Not sure there's much you've missed. (No buggy /cot wars and lots of knitting, as far I can gather). Suspect everyone is enjoying themselves over the BH weekend.

Mistlethrush has an appt at an allergy clinic for a paracetamol trial. Gilly has been busy knitting and joined Ravelry. Millie was sleeping beautifully (a few days ago, at least!) I had my HSG on Friday - have to admit the dye bit hurt more than I expected (not sure if that means I've got a low pain threshold!) but glad it's over. Not sure if it's messed up my ovulation or it's coincidental but would normally have expected a positive on an OPK today and no sign of it. (Did think about not TTC this month but decided the Bank Holiday weekend and a more relaxed DH was too good an opportunity to miss). Oh well, told DH he'll have to have even more sex

Ready · 05/05/2008 16:30

Oooh hobnobs, sounds like the dye could have cleared the tubes... there is lots of anecdotal evidence for conception in the 3 months following the hsg, so fingers crossed - don't worry about them saying that they were not able to interpret the results there and then, I am pretty sure that is standard. I had to go back to see the consultant to be told the results - although they did tell me I "filled and spilled" - which is, like you say, what they look for. Sounds good to me. How do you feel?
I go away in 4 weeks, very excited

MT, how you getting on with the allergy trial?

Anyone seen those dyson balls? I don't actually need a new hoover, my dyson is fine, but I do like the look of the ball one

Hi girls just checking in
Welcome back Ready

Welcome back Ready!

Hobnobs - it was definitely a significant wince for me at HSG - and I could have decked the consultant when he said 'there, that wasn't too bad, was it?' afterwards - I did, however, get results from him then and there which was nice - did you have a consultant doing yours or just radiographer - perhaps this is the difference?

Very busy weekend, ds being 'trying' quite a bit of the time, did manage to get some good work done in the garden though.

Ready · 06/05/2008 16:39

I would say that will be the difference... I had a radiographer and a nurse doing mine, no consultant. Suspect that is the same for hobnobs

hobnobs · 06/05/2008 17:15

Ready & Mistlethrush you're right - there was a nurse and a radiographer but no consultant. We're due to go to the fertility clinic in August and review all the tests then but I am hoping that once DH has got his blood test out of the way (booked for next week ), I'll be able to get a cancellation. Ready In answer to your question as to how I feel, I was fine on Friday evening but did have two or three moments of strong stomach cramps on Saturday. It would be nice to thank that the pain meant it's cleared my tubes a bit but I should know better than to be too optimistic! Not sure if it's coincidental or not, but it seems to have delayed my ovulation - I've consistently ovulated on day 12 for the last 7 months - suspect though not sure it will be day 14 this time which I suppose is a bit more normal. Just hope that DH's cooperation can be extended another couple of days!

Glad you got out there in the garden over the weekend, Mistlethrush. I have lots of weeds, just calling me for attention, but I'm too lazy to respond.

mistlethrush · 07/05/2008 08:18

I've got a 1/2 days leave booked today to try to get on top of them. Better go and do some work beforehand!

scorpio1 · 08/05/2008 09:40

just saying hi Me and millie have got thrush my nipples, her mouth. god i have never been in so much pain, lol! Well maybe when i was in labour but thats about it! She weighs 8lb 12oz now and is still the best baby sleeper ever!

Hope you are all well??

hobnobs · 09/05/2008 13:05

Hello everyone.

'Tis quiet on here, isn't it. Hope you're all enjoying the sun (well, maybe not today)

Ready if you're lurking (and anyone else who temps) I need to pick your brains. I've used OPKs for the last year and always assumed they were fairly reliable but am a bit confused. This cycle, I didn't get a positive until day 13 suggesting that I'd ovulate on day 14 (I usually get one on day 11 meaning ovluation on day 12 and often feel ovulation pain then as well). However, this is also my first cycle of temping and my temperature rise suggests that I ovulated on Day 12 after all (which ties in with EWCM then). This is what Fertility Friend seems to think (not sure how to link to my chart there) as does the acupuncturist whom I saw this morning. I originally thought that maybe my HSG last week had delayed ovulation, now not sure what to think! Has anyone else had this? I'm now regretting giving DH a couple of nights off for good behaviour though hopefully we didn't miss the right time completely. I know that I've read that OPKs aren't reliable and that I should trust charting but just a bit confused when it's only the first cycle that I've recorded.

mistlethrush · 09/05/2008 19:59

Scorpio hope thrush goes away soon. Didn't get thrush but had a crack for most of the time that was more or less bad - for several months definitely for about 4sec and then calmed down somewhat so it was bearable...

I had a discussion with dh and it transpires that he is not 'cooperating' because, apart from the general feeling knackered and fed up at work, he doesn't want to see me go through a mp again. I suppose that I hadn't realised how hard he took the mp - it was me going through the treatment just becuase I'd be dead by now without it, but it was him that really saw and had to cope with the effects. He's also worried about not being able to afford a 2nd at the moment (he needs a new job) - perhaps after he gets another we should perhaps have another discussion, but doesn't look as though we'll really be actively ttc for the time being...

Ready · 10/05/2008 10:47

Hobnobs, opks are notoriously difficult to interpret ? the line can often be somewhat ambiguous and the timing is hit and miss too? that said, if you have used them for a year and had all the other signs to go with and been fairly happy that they are pinpointing ovulation, then it is natural that you will be perplexed by this confusion. What was the rise in your temp like? It is easier to see ovulation from a complete chart ? so don?t stress, it might all tally. (If you want to share your chart, go into FF and click on the section ?sharing?, it will give you your url address that you can paste here) then I could have a look for you. I would be inclined to believe temps and ewcm over opks, but I have temped a long time and know what patterns occur for me, everyone is different and you will get to know your pattern over a few months (hoping you won?t need that long) ? the trick is not to let is stress you out.
As for giving dh time off for good behaviour, don?t stress ? it?s done now, so relax and look forward to next cycle (which you might not need!)
Oh and the hsg definitely can affect ovulation, but it isn?t a given, some people might not be ? again, we are all different.

Scorpio, sorry to hear about the thrush

MT, it?s a pity that you won?t be actively ttc, but I totally understand the reasoning behind the decision, it must be very difficult for your dh. You never know what will happen when you least expect it.

Hope everyone is good? I am off out into the garden, again!

Sorry for getting you hooked on Ravelry Gilly I think you and I are quite similar - I would love to knit 'full-time' I even took my knitting with me to the hen weekend I was at this weekend! (Ready - I'm almost halfway there with your shrug now thanks to the hen w/e )
Hoep everyone else is ok - need to catch up with you all properly, but need to go to bed more right now!

nomoremagnolia · 11/05/2008 21:25

ps gilly congratulations on your 'significant' wedding anniversary

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 09:37

Dh threw a 'bouncer' this morning. I asked him whether it was 'no' to any more children full stop or whether it was 'no' until he had a new job - his answer was no to both. so have absolutly no idea where he's coming from now! So slightly more from me on this slightly overcast morning.

Would like the weather to continue well today, as I'd like to hand over ds to dh after we've eaten (ds and me at least) and go and do some gardening while dh 'does' bedtime.

Scorpio - how are you and Millie doing? Hope things are better now.

scorpio1 · 12/05/2008 09:41

Hi yes our thrush has very nearly gone, thank god. soooo painful.

I am so broody again already , must try and hold out till xmas at least!

mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 09:42

PS, we've just had a 'significant' anniversary too - celebrated by having some nice food at home - diet rather precluded eating out! (lost about 10/11 lb in 4 wks...)

scorpio1 · 12/05/2008 09:47

i havent had a wedding anniversary yet!

we have kittens btw, born on friday 4 of them.

toomuchtimeonline · 12/05/2008 17:47

Just checking in

Nice to hear about anniversary vow renewals and knitting fever! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun

hobnobs · 12/05/2008 18:54

Hello.

Ready Thank you very much for your words of wisdom. Everything I've read both on here and in my books suggests I should trust my temperatures (it's a bit complicated by the fact that a couple of them were taken outside the normal time and my last cycle was a day or two shorter than usual but I'm sure it doesn't make that much of a difference!) Here is my chart I'm sure that in a couple of months, it will all make perfect sense! Glad your garden is nicely pruned - I really need to attack my weeds at the back but spent Saturday as a Fairtrade banana in a local carnival procession and running a Fairtrade stall !

Gilly Congratulations on your significant wedding anniversary I saw the bit on the news. I'm glad it went well - I'd seen it advertised in my local church but we've not reached any kind of milestone like that (not sure DH would have been interested either!)

Mistlethrush Big hugs - not sure what to say. It must be really hard and frustrating although it's good that at least you've had a bit of a conversation. Just hope that DH gets a new job and with it comes less stress as well! Hope you got the gardening done!

Lots of gorgeous knitting still happening then! Nomore impressed about knitting on a hen weekend (it's the sort of thing I'd do, if I could knit, but DH would just laugh at me!)

Hello to Toomuch and Scorpio.

mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 22:28

Have finished weeding raised veg bed this evening, and planted some seeds so feeling reasonably smug.

Still don't quite know what dh meant... will have to explore further, although not particularly easy...

nomoremagnolia · 15/05/2008 12:32

MT have just caught up with the past few days - you poor thing but at least you and your DH are talking about it, that's got to be a good thing. Hope you're ok ((hugs))

toomuch good to 'see' you - how's things? glad you've not forgotten us

Hi to everyone else

ps I start the IVF injections tonight [scared]
