Not pregnant after chemical

Hey guys, I believe I had a chemical pregnancy in December. I had several faint positive tests that got more faint over several days. I read so many success stories of people conceiving the month after a chemical so was hoping I would. I am now on day 2 of a new cycle so did not conceive this month. I am feeling really down about it and worried this might never happen for me. Did anyone conceive soon after a chemical but not the month after?

About a week away from ovulation so no updates. I’m feeling a bit defeated by the whole process. Not looking forward to the tww. How are you feeling? When you planning on testing?

@Millie1501 about 10 dpo but im the same as you totally deflated and don’t even go there with thinking I’ve conceived to save the disappointment but you just never know I suppose the usual feeling like I’ve certain symptoms but my mind plays ticks every month sending you positive vibes

Millie1501 · 01/03/2024 15:21

@Millie1501 af came two days early so thankfully didn’t lead me to any false hope like last month … Sending you all my positive vibes we need some good news haha

mumtum2023 · 03/03/2024 17:44

Hi, I had a chemical pregnancy in May 2022 and fell pregnant again end of August/beginning of Sept 22. Baby is now 9 months old x

Lou739 · 03/03/2024 21:22

@mumtum2023 thank you for the positivity it’s so hard after a chemical when it’s not happening as u hear how many people get pregnant super quick after. Had chemical in sep 2023 and still no luck x

Millie1501 · 03/03/2024 22:44

@mumtum2023 so glad it happened for you soon after your chemical. Good to hear positive stories like that 😊.

@Lou739 i know it’s so tough right now. But I have heard loads of stories of people getting pregnant longer than expected after a chemical. I think conceiving is a bit like rolling a dice each month but the longer you try the more likely it will become. Also you know you can get pregnant so there’s a very good chance it will happen again, just no way of knowing when sadly. I hope you have some fun plans to cheer yourself up this week?

@Millie1501 im actually taking your advice from a previous post and keeping super busy and taking things easy! Will be away during ovulation this cycle for work so won’t be trying which is probably a good thing to take the pressure off but please keep me updated I’ve everything crossed for u!

Millie1501 · 03/03/2024 23:21

@Lou739 a break sounds like a good idea. I think trying to conceive can be a viscous cycle, the stress is very real. I am trying to be more relaxed this month but I will probably be a mess when I get to the tww. I will definitely keep you posted, I think I will ovulate in the next few days 🤞.

Lou739 · 11/03/2024 12:15

@Millie1501 hope all is going well for you this month I got some bloods done and apparently my prolactin levels are extremely high (can mess with period and ovulation but I’ve been fine so far ) so need to get that sorted and will be referred on to get some meds doesn’t mean I won’t conceive in the meantime but can hinder it.

Millie1501 · 11/03/2024 12:50

@Lou739 That’s interesting, maybe your chances will increase once that is sorted. Hopefully they are getting that sorted for you real soon. It sounds totally fixable which is good.
We have also had some results last week. My bloods are fine. But my husband’s semen results have come back abnormal. It came back low for morphology, it’s at 2% and should be 4%- 14%. There is a lot of contradictory information online as to whether it will be a big problem with us conceiving. Apparently it’s something that can fluctuate so he needs to do another sample in a few months. In the meantime we are trying life style changes and vitamins to see if that improves it. The rest of the metrics tested in the sample were good. But not the results we would have wanted, I’m not holding out much hope for this month 😢.

Lou739 · 11/03/2024 13:39

@Millie1501 the word fluctuate sounds promising as that means one month perhaps might still have a good chance and other month slightly lower? I think its a good sign you got pregnant in the first place even tho was sadly a chemical like myself. The doctor keeps telling me the fact I could conceive, and sperm met egg and implanted etc (although didn't go further) is promising.

I think because it will be my first and I'm mid 30s I just feel the pressure to get another positive test. My AMH levels indicated they were on the lower side for my age so I'd have about 2 years left of good chance egg-wise, so I will keep ploughing on and hoping for the best and in the meantime will get my appointment for the referral from my doc. Wishing u lots of luck this month!

Millie1501 · 11/03/2024 22:23

@Lou739 yes I’m hoping it is better some months. Should be interesting to see what his next sample comes back with. Hopefully I will get pregnant before then lol.
I agree with the chemical being a positive sign, we should be able to conceive again and hopefully the next one is a sticky bean for us both 🤞.

@Lou739 how are you? I hope you meds for the prolactin levels are getting sorted very soon for you🤞.

I am pregnant, I found out over the weekend. Just a reminder to you to not give up. I thought it may never happen 😆.

You’ve made my day!! What were your symptoms in your tww!! I’m currently 9 dpo and fingers crossed SO happy for you I really really am xx

Millie1501 · 15/04/2024 21:07

@Lou739 Oh thank you 😊, I am very happy but also nervous as well. So paranoid I will have a miscarriage after my chemical in December. I will be much more relaxed once I get the 12 week scan.
I had a lot of pms like symptoms, think my fatigue was worse than usual this time but it was a subtle difference to pms. I did get one weird symptom this time which started about a week after ovulation. That was dry sore chapped lips, so strange and didn’t have that with my son or chemical pregnancy. I’m convinced that was a symptom for this pregnancy but at the time I thought it was probably caused by something else. I had the same pms cramps (which I’m still getting) and irritability lol. I was convinced my period was coming tbh.
I got my husband taking fertility supplements and the past month we both started taking naitre supplements. After a lot of research I felt that they would be the best to take and that same month we conceived. They are certainly not the cheapest on the market but they are great, maybe worth trying. Here is the link to their site: https://naitre.com/collections/fertility

I have got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞🤞. Keep me posted hun. Xxx

Wow, today I am CD3 of the second cycle after CP and I just found the thread. It gives me some hope. I hope you are going to have healthy pregnancies!

Millie1501 · 12/06/2024 11:32

@koolkatxx My pregnancy is going well thank you. I am just over 12 weeks. My next scan is on Friday and I had my last one at 8 weeks.

I do feel for you both @koolkatxx and @LucyCL because I’ve have been where you are now and it’s not easy. I can only say that there is a very good chance you will both conceive successfully as a chemical is a positive sign that you obviously can conceive. I know it happens for some people very quickly after a chemical but not worry if that’s not the case for you. It took me 4 months after and for some people it’s longer. Fingers crossed it happens for you both soon though and keep us posted 😊🤞 xx
