Not pregnant after chemical

Hey guys, I believe I had a chemical pregnancy in December. I had several faint positive tests that got more faint over several days. I read so many success stories of people conceiving the month after a chemical so was hoping I would. I am now on day 2 of a new cycle so did not conceive this month. I am feeling really down about it and worried this might never happen for me. Did anyone conceive soon after a chemical but not the month after?

I had a chemical in the November, didn't get pregnant the next month (I was absolutely gutted/convinced almost everyone conceived the month after a chemical) but I did get pregnant the month following. Wishing you all the best. TTC is hard

I had a chemical December 2021, I fell pregnant my second cycle after it. I was devastated that first month when i got AF I'd been pinning all my hopes on getting pregnant again straight away and I think it was delayed grief as I cried every day of that second cycle until I got my bfp... then of course was the weeks of torture worrying if the chemical would happen again! Thankfully that pregnancy went to full term and he's 1 now!

Millie1501 · 26/01/2024 13:31

@twodoorsup and @justanotherlaura awww I am happy to hear you both got pregnant soon after. I think I really wanted to get pregnant straight after so I didn’t have to feel sad about the chemical got too long. I just have to deal with it now and hope I will fall pregnant again and it will stick.

@Lou739 the tww is torture, I’m not looking forward to mine this month. It’s impossible not to symptom spot. 🤞 it’s a bfp for you soon

I was the same after my chemical I just wanted to conceive asap to help with the sadness but now 5 months on I’m in a much better head space and now really hoping for my bfp I’m so delighted for the ladies who conceive quickly after; and those that are still waiting we’ll get there. 9/10 dpo and lots of fluttery cramping in lower stomach and extremely tired… but I know I’m also symptom spotting so taking it all with a pinch of salt x

Rosesanddaisies1 · 27/01/2024 18:44

It took me 4 cycles after a miscarriage, which I fully expected. There’s only something like a 25% chance each cycle so it’s very normal to take a few months. There’s no rush, make sure you are feeling physically and emotionally ready to try again. We waited a few months after MC before trying again, glad we did. Let yourself feel sad, don’t avoid the feelings.

Lou739 · 29/01/2024 15:54

Thank you everyone currently 12 DPO I wont test early just due to worry from previous chemical but very much feel AF coming (usual cramps etc) altho when I got my BFP in August I was convinced AF was coming too... the ttw is torture! x

NightSkyWanderer · 29/01/2024 23:16

Yes , You'll read lots of ladies posting about how easy it was the month after , but there's also alot of women like myself who didn't get pregnant immediately after a chemical. Don't put so much pressure on yourself

Millie1501 · 30/01/2024 11:17

@Lou739 how are you getting on?

OP posts:
Lou739 · 30/01/2024 11:31

@Millie1501 12/13 dpo today serious mood swings and continued cramping but its hard to know if its just AF on the way. When I got my BFP in August before the chemical I was convinced I was getting my period. I'm too afraid to test cus if its negative I'll be so disappointed! How are u?

Millie1501 · 30/01/2024 11:37

@Lou739 I get that, it’s so horrible seeing a negative test. It get worse over time as well. Maybe wait a couple of more days and that way you will get a clear result.
I am doing ok, getting close to ovulation but my husband is ill so don’t know if we will be able to try this month, see how he feels as the week progresses. I’m getting so impatient, just want to be pregnant lol

@Millie1501 I hope your hubby feels better soon!! You never know it might just take one try! Whats really throwing me off was getting my BFP on basically the first real attempt and now 5 months on nothing. I know I'm not out this month yet but its so hard to be optimistic with AF cramping haha!! Did anyone else find they felt they were getting AF before BFP?

Millie1501 · 30/01/2024 11:53

It’s very common to feel pms symptoms before a bfp. I think it’s hard to tell until you’ve missed your period tbh. Try do something to keep your mind off things until you are ready to test. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Caved and done a early detection clear blue digital at 2pm today and was negative. I am about 12/13 dpo and did wee about an hour before the test sorry tmi! But so disappointing! Hope you ladies are having better luck x

Millie1501 · 31/01/2024 22:45

@Lou739 sorry to hear that. I think you’ve done well waiting until 12/13 dpo tbh. I know it doesn’t seem promising but if af doesn’t arrive maybe test again in a couple of days.

Lou739 · 06/02/2024 11:02

Now 16 dpo and still no AF... but negative CB digital this morning so odd I'm never late usually have 25-27 day cycle now day 30

Millie1501 · 06/02/2024 11:23

@Lou739 that is strange, any pregnancy or pms symptoms?

OP posts:
Lou739 · 06/02/2024 11:26

I have mild cramps in uterus area defo had major pms symptoms from cycle day 19 - 26 and now on day 30 just mild cramps and small bit of white cm. So odd when I tested today really thought it would be BFP. Really confused

Millie1501 · 07/02/2024 22:25

@Lou739 how you getting on now? Hope you have an answer either way. I hate the tww, I’m only 3-4 dpo atm

Lou739 · 07/02/2024 23:34

@Millie1501 af came 4 days late- talk about my brain playing tricks! And Af is never that late but I’m really hoping this is your month so please keep me updated:) we need some good feb news 😀

Millie1501 · 08/02/2024 09:14

@Lou739 aww I’m sorry, our bodies really do play tricks on us while ttc. I will post an update for sure. My son’s birthday is on Monday and we are having a party on Sunday. So that will be a good distraction. I’m going to try wait until next Friday to test.

@Millie1501 how are you getting on this cycle?

Millie1501 · 20/02/2024 21:12

@Lou739 af arrived yesterday, so gutted. I had some pms like symptoms but also had some unusual symptoms for me. I was bloating a lot which I usually only do around ovulation and I was feeling dragging sensations etc on my right side. I was convinced it may be my month but no. On to month 9 now, trying to re stress this month and make ttc more fun, I don’t think stressing is helping. Whereabouts are you on your cycle now? Are you on your tww? How are you feeling?

OP posts:
Lou739 · 20/02/2024 21:19

@Millie1501 I’m day 14 (I usually ovulate early 9-12) so in tww, absolutely not getting my hopes up this month as I was convinced last month was my month. I hope next cycle is your time- a Xmas bundle of joy maybe ;)

Millie1501 · 21/02/2024 10:00

@Lou739 oh I’ve got my fingers crossed for you. The tww is harder and harder every month. I bet it’ll happen when we least expect it lol. Try keep yourself busy and take your mind off things. I’ve booked quite a few dates with friends to meet up with during my predicted tww. I’m going to try acupuncture this month. I know a lot of people don’t believe it helps with fertility. But if it helps relax me and takes my mind of things that can’t be a bad thing.
Keep me posted.
