Just seeing if anyone else is in the dreaded TWW. Currently 2DPO going by my flo app (I haven't actually tested for ovulation).

Congratulations to the BFP’s that have come through 🥰.

Sorry to see the people who are “out” as well. I definitely made the most of it not being our month and over indulged in everything 😂 hope you all did too!

Also just feeling super grateful that we have our DD, so we’ve decided to stop tracking and testing properly and just see what happens. If it happens then great, if not then still feeling hugely blessed to have our girl 🥰

IMBCRound2 · 27/12/2023 17:47

@strawberrylaces12 - been playing phone tag with my clinic all day! Need to confirm I can definitely stop the medication since I’ve still got 10 days until my official test day. WTF appointment already booked but I’m going to see if they can move it forward - im so confused about the whole ‘ your odds increase ‘ thing with iUi- is it just the case of the more you do it the better your odds so it doesn’t matter if you do it three times in a year or is the case that the medication actually helps in some sort of way and so you are better off doing them close together ?

CluelessInLondon · 27/12/2023 22:07

@strawberrylaces12 Getting away with your wife when you can sounds like a great idea - my husband and I haven't had a holiday since July and so much has happend since then that we desperately need a proper break (it was actually on that holiday that we conceived our previous pregnancy which ended in a loss in September). My research was successful and we are off to France skiing in January - so happy to have something to look forward to!

strawberrylaces12 · 27/12/2023 23:51

@IMBCRound2 I hope that you hear back soon! Our clinic can be quite hard to reach by phone but they are really decent at replying to emails so I've been using email and that way it's all in writing so I can go back to look at the emails to remember something.

So the way I understand it it's cumulative chance. Like the more attempts you have you more likely you'll have a success. I assume like an analogy of if you had one shot of scoring a goal you'd probably be less successful than if you had 6 shots? Although of course it won't work for everyone. I'm not sure about the timing of it though, I would imagine that how close they are together wouldn't matter too much. I think medication can increase the chance for some people, especially with particular fertility difficulties.

strawberrylaces12 · 27/12/2023 23:57

@CluelessInLondon yeah we have a couple of weekend UK breaks planned in for the next month or two but just holding off on planning a full on holiday for a while yet. We may have to do a last minute booking maybe in spring or summer. Maybe in April for our 2nd wedding anniversary 🥰

So sorry to hear about your loss! Fingers crossed for a more positive outcome soon 🤞 Oh yay! So glad you got something booked. Are you away for long? 😊

IMBCRound2 · 28/12/2023 09:26

@strawberrylaces12 - I hope I’m better at making a baby than scoring goals ! Yeah - everything looks perfect on paper for me but I just don’t seem to able to do it - going to do one more round of iUi and then on ivf again.

you?

IMBCRound2 · 28/12/2023 10:26

The clinic told me not to stop meds and to keep testing for another few days ?! I just can’t imagine anything changing with a stark negative at 13dpo! Plus everything I’ve read said anything with such low hcg at this stage isn’t likely to be viable so part of me would hate to find out just to lose the baby …

CluelessInLondon · 28/12/2023 10:59

@strawberrylaces12 We're heading away for a week - and it will be the second week of the TWW in January so should help to make the time go quicker too!

strawberrylaces12 · 28/12/2023 11:28

@IMBCRound2 we've only done one attempt so will do at least a few more. On the NHS we have to self fund 6 cycles before we can get an IVF on the NHS (due to being a same sex couple) so will probably do that.

Which attempt are you on?

Re your other message I think some people don't test positive until a bit later on (after when they would miss their period) depending on when implantation happens (as it can happen at 12dpo for example).

strawberrylaces12 · 28/12/2023 11:29

@CluelessInLondon oh that sounds brilliant, have the best time!!😊

IMBCRound2 · 28/12/2023 12:37

It’s attempt one for iUi- I had two rounds of ivf (four transfers- one of which is my daughter )

urg- it’s so unfair isn’t it?! I feel like the fact my ivf embryo rates were so awful shows that something is off so why don’t I get the free attempts afforded to other women struggling to conceive but who are in a hetero-relationship?!?

strawberrylaces12 · 28/12/2023 13:38

@IMBCRound2 ohh okay is there a reason you did IVF before and IUI this time? Sorry if you already said previously (my memory is awful and I just about remember what's happening in my own fertility journey 😂)

Yeah it doesn't feel right does it. Supposedly there is going to be some changes for same sex couples in April but I think they said that last April too and it's not come into effect yet, typical Government!

IMBCRound2 · 28/12/2023 13:52

not sure if it was the best choice but … I was only getting two low grade embryos with a less than 20% chance of success anyway. It felt like so much money and so many hormones to only get 20% odds - iUi isn’t that far off that and is so much cheaper/less invasive. Plus I’m still breastfeeding (which my clinic doesn’t know 😬 so I was trying to keep the hormones to ones that are breastfeeding friendly )

But I think one more round and then back to ivf? I’ll see what my clinic says -

fingers crossed the rules change for you !

strawberrylaces12 · 29/12/2023 11:05

@IMBCRound2 ohh that makes sense then! Yeah that sounds like a good plan. Ttc feels even more stressful when having to pay for fertility treatment and lots of appointments to attend for it, especially fitting them in around work and often it's quite last minute/short notice depending on test results😅not sure if you've felt like that too?

IMBCRound2 · 29/12/2023 14:42

It is ridiculously unfair - I feel like it just ramps the pressure up to an insane level and every one is just saying ‘relaxing helps’ ….

i think I had way more appointments with iUi rather than ivf which is another reason I’m thinking I’ll go back to ivf if it doesn’t work. Yes it’s a lot more - but I feel like a multiple three hour journeys + last minute child care + work just added to the stress and all those things definitely added up in cost .

xxoakley · 29/12/2023 15:07

Was nine days late last month so didn’t update this thread. Went back on the pill as agreed to wait under LO is three (July) - done a test lastnight at 7DPO as had felt sick all day, thinking “silly cow, nothing would show anyway”. To say I was shocked is an understatement!!!

TWW - 2DPO who's with me?
