Just seeing if anyone else is in the dreaded TWW. Currently 2DPO going by my flo app (I haven't actually tested for ovulation).

@MarieeeG we've been very much told by the fertility clinic not to test before 14 days due to the HCG in the trigger shot (to make sure that I definitely ovulated) as it will likely show a false positive until it's out of my system which is up to 14 days. So definitely not going to test before 14 days in case a false positive gets our hopes up (that would be horrible!). So yeah although I would want to test before then, it's not what we'll do. It does make the wait feel longer though!

Oh that's great that you tested positive so early on with your DD. Fingers crossed for a test soon and hopefully it'll be a BFP, although of course if it's not then it may still take some time to go positive.

Did you get sickness in the morning or was it any time of the day?

MarieeeG · 18/12/2023 19:32

@strawberrylaces12 ahh yeah I suppose that makes a lot of sense. Hopefully it goes quick! At least there’s Christmas so a busy period so hopefully make it seem quicker ☺️.

it was literally any time of day, or night 😂. Horrific but definitely worth it x

BeWhereYouAre · 18/12/2023 22:06

Hello! 11DPO here... this month's symptom spotting including VERY sore boobs around 7-9DPO which then eased. Also quite slippery CM this last week (normally lessons after ovulation time) which seems a little different, but I know this may be nothing. Anyone have any experience with that? I've heard CM can increase after conception.

3ornotto3 · 19/12/2023 00:31

@BeWhereYouAre i actually had no CM this month, but THE most intense cramp on my right side it actually stopped me from sleeping I was in agony. Surely that means I ovulated/was ovulating?? But no CM? Really confused. I do usually get it. How much longer before ovulating does CM happen, because we had sex right at the c beginning of my (predicted via an app, but my cycle is never like clockwork) ovulation window so could it be possible to get pregnant before CM comes? Goodness I have so many questions 😩

sorry I couldn’t be more help. I came here to help and made it all about me lol

when are you testing? If you haven’t already, where do you get the willpower to be at 11DPO and not done one yet. I aspire to be as strong as you 😂

MarieeeG · 19/12/2023 13:00

TMI - but has anyone experience with spotting? 8DPO and I’ve got a tinge in my knickers but nothing when I wipe, it’s very weird and never happened before, paired with the cramping I had yesterday. I doubt it’s anything implantation related as I didn’t have it previously (although I know every pregnancy is different).

When I get AF it’s usually just instant and no spotting prior, I’m hoping it’s not but scared it’s AF rearing her ugly head 6 days early x

Karinx · 19/12/2023 13:06

@3ornotto3 my CM increased and was creamy from 5DPO. I don't normally get much so I knew something was going on at that point!

@MarieeeG I had some very light spotting 7 and 8 DPO, mine was a very light brown and only noticed it when I wiped. Everyone is so different though!

MarieeeG · 19/12/2023 13:09

@Karinx it would be much easier to symptom spot if everyone had the same at the same time 😂. It’s brown and not huge amounts but enough to notice. Wasn’t expecting/looking out for it but couldn’t miss it. Time will tell 😣

BeWhereYouAre · 19/12/2023 23:29

@3ornotto3 From my understanding it seems that CM turns slippery and like thin, raw egg-white consistency a few days before ovulation to allow easier passage for sperm. They say it's a great indicator to get going! Then it tends to get thicker and then dry up more the nearer your period gets if you haven't conceived, but can increase/be more runny if you have conceived. But I guess it can just change from month to month and with what's going on in your life, so you just can't know for sure. It's definitely possible to still get pregnant without CM... it can just up your chances I think (and be a nice natural lube).

I have done a few early pregnancy tests in earlier cycles but seeing a negative test can feel quite crushing even if I prepare for it... then I still never really know if it's giving a false negative, so I guess I just prefer to wait for my AF to confirm one way or another.

3ornotto3 · 22/12/2023 11:07

How’s everyone doing? ❤️

strawberrylaces12 · 22/12/2023 12:11

@3ornotto3 still very much in the tww here, waiting to see if AF shows up next week or will test. I had a dream that AF arrived last night, hope it's not a sign but got to be realistic it's only our first iui. But glad to have finished work for Christmas now, some time to relax and see friends and family!

How are you? 😊

BeWhereYouAre · 22/12/2023 15:05

16 DPO here but still have up to 4 days before AF (my cycle goes between 23-29 days long). I did do a early pregnancy test a few days ago and there was no hint of line - clear negative. So I am assuming negative and my period will be along soon, but my tests are just cheap amazon early strips, and some reviews suggest they don't show up right for everyone (though lots of reviews say they are accurate) I have been possessed by internal rage plus lots of anxiety on quite a few days this week so was expecting AF shortly, but feel surprisingly cheery today. Haha, who knows! The usual waiting game.

Roseberry22 · 22/12/2023 15:29

@3ornotto3 8dpo here have had to wake up and got to toilet in the night the last 2 days which really isn’t usual for me and I have this burning cramping in my lower back which I’m sure I don’t usually get until 10dpo. Probably still some horrible way my body’s tricking me though! How are you?

@BeWhereYouAre do you usually ovulate really early in your cycle to be 16dpo in a 23-29 day cycle?

CluelessInLondon · 22/12/2023 15:37

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing okay! 7DPO over here, AF due next Friday (or possibly Thursday if my cycle decides to be 30 days this month, which is what it was most months before my MC) but the time is passing pretty quickly because of Christmas prep and being busy at work.

Anybody planning to do any testing over the weekend, or is everyone doing what I'm doing and living in blissful ignorance until after Christmas?

BeWhereYouAre · 22/12/2023 16:58

@Roseberry22 just checking I have it right that DPO is Days Past Ovulation? (New to all these abbreviations on the forums) ☺️ Ovulation strips seem to be darkest for me around day 11/12 of my cycle, but I only started using those the last 4 months. I'm using Flow app (and before that, online Ovulation calculators for the estimated 'fertile window') Have been thinking about getting a more thorough, highly accurate ovulation tester, if anyone has recommendations?

Hopefully I have it right. Each month we mix up the times and days we DTD to hopefully hit all the best days in the fertile window + during the week before/after, to try and cover all bases, but thinking January we might try for an almost daily marathon of DTD to max out our potential chances. It's hard to not get burnt out though.... gotta laugh about it. Calling down the stairs... 'Your services are needed... Yes, again!' 😆

Gkb90 · 22/12/2023 17:03

Hey ladies, I’m a day before my AF is due. I tested today however got a BFN hoping I’m not out this cycle. We gave it our all this cycle having taken letrozole and used a trigger shot so been hoping for the best and a Christmas miracle ❤️

Roseberry22 · 22/12/2023 17:07

@BeWhereYouAre yes days past ovulation! Yes definitely sounds like you have it right, 16 dpo just sounded a lot but I have a really short luteal phase at 12 days so do forget that sorry.i currently use the clear blue ovulation tests but i think these are just as good as any cheapies of the internet really.

I think they say every other day should always be enough as I read that doing every day for a prolonged time doesn’t give the little swimmers time to recover so you’re essentially firing blanks! You could maybe try the SMEP method?

@Gkb90 everything crossed for you!

BeWhereYouAre · 22/12/2023 17:32

@Roseberry22 yes every other day I heard is best too... every day would likely be impossible anyway! 🙈 We tend to DTD every 2-3 days, before, during and after ovulation... It just hasn't seemed to be enough so far this past year but I guess it can just be luck. We'll up the frequency a tad at least 🤞 My partner has a fertility test booked for Jan too to check that side of things.
Seems SMEP method involves starting early with regular intercourse to ensure sperms meets egg higher in its journey down? Then yes I guess we have as we do start early.

CluelessInLondon · 22/12/2023 21:22

@BeWhereYouAre I use cheapy OPK strips and then when I get close to O-day I start doing the Clear Blue digital OPKs as well, so I'm getting two readings. They've seemed to line up quite well so it gives me some extra confidence I know when I'm ovulating. I also use the Premom app which is good for uploading pictures of the OPK so you can compare them and try to find the darkest one.

@Gkb90 Keeping fingers crossed for you that AF doesn't show up!

Gkb90 · 22/12/2023 22:41

@Roseberry22 @CluelessInLondon thank you I’m hoping it doesn’t show up too! I’ve been getting cramps on one side and have very thin discharge (sorry tmi) so I’m not sure if AF is on the way 😩

hope you’re both getting on well x

3ornotto3 · 23/12/2023 07:25

Tested again first thing this morning… biiiiiig fn. not even a squinter 🥲 I had the most intense cramps on my right side last Thursday night, which I assumed was ovulation pains, so yeah I guess now I’d be 9 or 10DPO, therefore I’d assume if I was pg that I’d have even a teeeny faint line. But nothing. So I am graciously accepting that I’m probably out this month!

I wish I could know by definite tomorrow morning though, so I know if I can drink or not 🤦🏻‍♀️

IMBCRound2 · 24/12/2023 07:55

Stark white tests here. I was so hopeful with a new donor things might be different but clearly my body is just useless. Staying with family so having to sneak off to have quick moments of tears and rage since I can’t face telling anyone in real life yet . Just waiting for my clinic to open back up so I can come off the meds and move on to whatever the next steps are .

strawberrylaces12 · 24/12/2023 09:07

@IMBCRound2 how many DPO are you and when is AF due?

Sending you lots of hugs and positivity!

IMBCRound2 · 24/12/2023 09:34

9DPO - I’ve been looking at the odds and it’s pretty stark at this stage. I love being a solo mum and my rational brain knows i wouldn’t want it any other way - but it’s just so shite when there’s not even the option of just trying every month ! I’m hoping my clinic doesn’t make me wait the whole three weeks - I feel so rough on the progesterone (and it makes breastfeeding super painful which isn’t fair on my little one) - I just want to have a good cry and move on…

Trying to decide if I should go back to ivf … Need someone to do the maths for me !

I didn’t test until 12dpo with my daughter but it was dark enough I would have got a positive well before then .

MarieeeG · 24/12/2023 09:55

Merry Christmas Eve, AF arrived a day early!
Ah well, I’ll be drinking all the Christmas champagne and eating all the cheese for the foreseeable 😂.

Good luck to everyone testing soon xx

strawberrylaces12 · 24/12/2023 13:02

@IMBCRound2 still quite early then? Can't implantation still be happening at this point? Quite a lot of people on here don't test positive until 14dpo or after and say it can differ between pregnancies. Not saying it will be bfp but just don't rule it out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞
