Hi, alI!

I thought it would be really nice to start a new thread. This thread is dedicated to those TTC in November 2023. We can give each other advice, talk through our emotions (because sometimes, hearing from another woman is so helpful!), and at the end of the cycle - update on pregnancy test results.

I'll introduce myself real quick. Feel free to do the same.

My name is Kelsey. I'm 26. I'm from Ireland. I've been engaged to my fiancé, Sean, since September. We started dating in December 2022 (when ya know, ya know!!). We have been trying to conceive since I came off the pill in May. I was only on it since December 2022. Unfortunately, we received a false positive Clearblue digital in June :(. So this TTC journey has been very stressful. I have PCOS and irregular cycles but something seems to be switching up in me.

My last period started October 19th.
I feel I ovulated on Halloween night. We DTD the day before and the day of. It's the first time I've caught ovulation so perfectly.

If going by 28 day cycle since I ovulated on time, my period is expected November 16th. I am so nervous as I want a baby so badly. Something in me is telling me this cycle is different but that little voice in my mind is telling me I'm not pregnant and I'm wrong. I guess we'll see.

Symptoms so far:
Ovary pain (but I have that almost every day anyway)
Backache
And then....nothing.
Which is unusual for me as my PMS symptoms usually begin 2 weeks before my period (whether I end up bleeding or not lol). I often feel nauseas and experience cramping. Nothing so far.
Also, currently 3dpo.

Feeling a bit better today, had a good cry last night & ate my body weight in M&S brownies 🤦‍♀️ really shouldn't buy the Christmas treats in early 🤣

According to flo ovulation is on point, lasting forever 🤣🤣 I know it will change when I update with my period ending but bloody hell.. I'm a bit worried as my partner isn't coming away with us & we are going away the 25th - 1st December.. Hoping my peak doesn't fall then, otherwise it will be TTC 2024 for us 😫🫠 I'll have to just take it as it is! X

Also, what is with these early periods?? 😐

@LuceNumberTwo sorry to hear it. How early was your period? At least the next opportunity will come sooner, though…

I need some guidance everyone. I’m still getting positives on early detection and negatives on regular tests. Now 17dpo. Has me convinced something is wrong and I’m worried this could be ectopic or something.

has anyone experienced something similar?

@Pupsandturtles i think ectopic shows up positive more than faint/negative so hopefully its not that!! Do you think you could have ovulated a little later or do you track that? Can you book with the GP and have a blood test x

@LuceNumberTwo I never know if them apps are correct. I came on but today nothing so only two days of bleeding 🧐 im not sure if that changes my ovulation date but also I think my cycles are 26 days in which case i didnt come on early - the things you learn when looking into it lol! My app says ovulation will be next weekend im so confused x

@H938 Have you taken any pregnancy tests? What was your bleeding like? 🤔

@Pupsandturtles I don't think it sounds eptpoic, are you having pains etc?
I've had that with my previous but it came up on all tests & stayed faint.. Ended in chemical! Hoping maybe its just too early for you & you ovulated/implanted later xx🤞

Bbt finally shot up so I’m guessing I’m 2dpo today.

@H938 @LuceNumberTwo I am having some pains on one side, have been for about a week. I might call EPU but suspect I’m too early for them to see.

@LuceNumberTwo its been quite alot and red so im pretty sure its AF as we call it 😄 im going to start the ovulation tests on monday and go from there x

@Pupsandturtles I think if you dont feel 100% then get checked out, only you know your body and the earlier you catch something the better. Hopefully its just your body changing for pregnancy but better to be safe xx

I did my 2nd ovulation test this morning on CD9 and it was fainter than yesterday 😫 surely that's not right?

@H938 Ahh ok! My period had started odd. Like almost stopping & barely going onto a pad, but I'm not holding our much hope of anything it's came with alot of cramping 🙈 I'm sure tomorrow will be a heavier flow!

@Mummy2823 don't use first morning urine, if you google it always tells you to use later urine, odd I know as you'd just think that with tests 🤷‍♀️

Thank you @LuceNumberTwo - i tested this morning with two different brands and im sure one was an evap (on a pink dye) and one was an indent (blue dye). I think I’m officially put off early testing again this week has felt really cruel. How on earth are they allowed to sell products that can indent or evap 😫 I’m due on this weekend so I know I’m out now, at least we have a lovely group for the next TTW (if we can try on hols!)

@Pupsandturtles how are you feeling? If it’s any reassurance, I was super crampy when I found out with my my daughter and my tests were faint for ages. I went for an early reassurance scan and I was much earlier than I thought. Fingers crossed it’s the same for you. Did you get hold of EPU? Big hand hold.

So much to learn about ovulation testing… noted about SMU and the brands. Let me know what else to look out for and do!

@Mummy2823 i got my peak on first morning urine with an OPK- but I didn’t test from lunchtime the previous day which was an error of mine so the peak could have actually been the night before 🤷🏼‍♀️ I won’t leave the stone unturned next cycle.

@LuceNumberTwo hope you’re getting on okay 💕

then as an overall general note I’ve decided two things:

1. im already tracking so thoroughly that I may aswell write every little detail in case anything helps in the following months. I already regret last month not keeping more organised. For e.g. I’ve got lightly pink tinged CM at 9/10dpo this morning but I specifically remember having that around 6/7dpo last cycle after sex. Also spots and bloating- I know I have a fair amount each cycle but I should have been more detailed so I can really get to know my cycle. Essentially if I’m going to drive myself mad, at least I should do it to the best of my ability 🙄
2. next Cycle I won’t take a HPT until I’ve missed a period- a bold statement. I hope I don’t flake.

p.s ordered a BBT thermometer 🤷🏼‍♀️

p.p.s I saw a sperm motility kit in Superdrug this week- I’m getting it for DH if this cycle doesn’t work, has anyone else considered this.
He has a normal count- tested that with a home kit last year before TTC- but we haven’t looked at the motility.

Honestly never ever use clearblues ladies - because ive gone a teeeeny tiny bit insane I thought il do a test so i know im not pickling a baby at this wedding. Nothing in 3 minutes, came back in 10 mins and a big old evap. They need to be recalled like FRER!

Hey all - haven’t posted on this thread for a while but just took a test myself (think I am 12DPO) and was negative 😔 it was technically second morning urine but I don’t think that matters. Feeling pretty gutted - am convincing myself that I will basically never be pregnant naturally (if at all). Just can’t believe it’s been a whole year and it still hasn’t bloody worked. I feel like at school they teach you that you only have to so much as think about sex and you will get pregnant, and now I actually want to be pregnant it’s actually really bloody hard…

Hi @LuceNumberTwo @therealpatmustard mine unfortunately turned out to be chemical. Feeling quite down. I thought something wasn’t right but still had some hope.

I don’t know if this is a bad sign for my overall fertility. This was month 3 for us so we haven’t been trying that long but given my age, I don’t know how many tries we are going to get. Would be good to hear about other people’s experiences with this.

Have you had any other loses? I've had two chemicals after a blighted ovum this year.. I've got an appointment on Wednesday with obstetrics. I don't know if that's down to the amount of loses I've had or not however.. I'm 33 & I've already told myself if I haven't fallen by 35 I'm going to stop trying. As devastated as that makes me feel! It's super unfair isn't it
Trying to convince myself not to test early next month, but it's so so hard

@ButterflySkies What an absolute pain in the bum that is! So bloody cruel! Have you tried any other tests? 🤞💝 that maybe you will still get your BFP!!

@Goldendoodlelover have you spoken with your GP to maybe get some tests to look into it? I would maybe be getting in touch just to see if you can get some answers, I know the feeling of only ever being told/seeing/experiencing absolutely perfect pregnancies with healthy babies! There's not enough about the horrible side.. 💖💖

How is everyone doing today?
I jinxed myself so much, this AF is here with a vengeance, super super heavy.. shift from hell today literally leaked all over my leggings.. What joy!!!
I've ordered ovulation sticks both easy at home & clear blue digital! I'm hoping so very much that I'm not away whilst I'm peaking.. I mean how long does frozen sperm last 👀👀🤣🤣 insemination kit?!
I'm intending on having several big gins tonight!!

Also, opinions... so if we do try.. I should be ovulating round about the start of December, the TWW being up till like Christmas... My works Christmas night out is the 16th! Now the last chemical I had I didn't touch alcohol during TWW. the first loss i never knew I was pregnant so I did drink.. But in my mind I'm like it doesn't make a difference whether I do or not. So do I have a drink on the 16th or not 🤔🤣

@LuceNumberTwo enjoy yourself, its christmas! Having a drink will be fine I think. I done a week on holiday drinking when I was first pregnant- i didnt know i was pregnant obviously 😳🫣 but I think a couple of drinks will be fine, otherwise you will be living in the TWW. Lets hope for better luck in December♥️🎄

Hi @LuceNumberTwo I actually had a fertility MOT a couple of months ago as a) I didn’t want to wait until the 12 month mark and b) I wanted to rule out PCOS as I was really struggling with my skin from about 6 months after coming off the pill! Anyway bloods were all normal, semen analysis fine, turns out I do have polycystic ovaries but apparently not the syndrome, and OPKs/BBT/progesterone blood test all suggest I am regularly ovulating. So no diagnosis which in a way is a relief but in a way is even more frustrating! Next step is to have a HSG/Hycosy to check my tubes are all clear.

I’m sorry to hear you are having such a rubbish AF! and I agree it’s really hard to know what to do about drinking in the TWW. My opinion is a drink or two is fine but just don’t go overboard? But I think that’s because I don’t want people to suspect I’m pregnant if I’m not drinking and I don’t want to put my life on hold whilst TTC, but I haven’t had any luck so far!

Well I'm out, TTC cycle 1 was a no go! Although I just knew I didn't catch this month. I knew so early on with my DD1 that I was pregnant and felt nothing this time round.
So exciting to see so many BFPs for you ladies tho xx

Hey everyone - haven’t posted for a while as I’ve been trying to hold out to test until this weekend! Flo predicted I’d be due on yesterday, and I have been expecting it any time between Friday and Sunday so I could still come on today. So I’m waiting until tomorrow to test. I’ve actually now got to the point where I’m scared to test in case it’s just my period being a bit weird and late!

I’ve been having slight period cramps actually since about Wednesday so I really thought my period was coming but it would be a long time to have them and no period (for me - usually mine come just for a day or two before my period and they are usually more painful). But no other symptoms so I still think there is a strong chance I’ll come on today. Trying not to get my hopes up but will keep you all updated either way! Congratulations to everyone with BFP and sending hugs and December baby dust for others. Hope you’re all doing ok xx

@H938 This is what I was thinking, because I become so obsessed about it, it would be nice to be calmer 🤣🙈 ahh hopefully December is our month 🤞 AF is easing off again today, so glad, I swear you get to that point where you don't think it's possible for any more to actually come 😫

@Goldendoodlelover Aww I see! Did they think it was anything to do with having polycystic ovaries? It's so complicated isn't it, I never realised until this year just how much has to happen in order to fall/stay pregnant.. 🙈

@LuceNumberTwo yes I have several tests in the house which is why it is taking all my will power not to test! I know I could now but (and this might not sound logical) I just think I would feel less disappointed seeing AF arrive than another negative test. At least if AF arrives you’re onto the next cycle and you have clarity. I find the negative tests more upsetting. If AF comes today that will be a 29 day cycle for me, which is still very normal for me so trying to keep a level head! Glad to hear AF is coming to an end for you! I don’t know about you but I always feel way more positive once it’s done!
