always at the back of my mind...is what I meant. Um, and just to be absolutely clear...I am NOT a crack addict. LOL, I was trying to illustrate my point. .

nomoremagnolia · 14/02/2009 13:53

I know what you mean!! I have given up with the whole 'can I risk a drink?' thing, I don't worry about it even in the 2ww but for a long time I was putting things on hold because of ttc. I think we're in danger of being the ones for whom "life is what happens when you're making other plans"

nomoremagnolia · 14/02/2009 13:58

I was asked the other day 'is there any chance you could be pg?' (for a health spa thing) and I confidently said 'no'. When we started ttc I would have proudly replied 'yes' then I used to explain there was a small but unlikely chance but now I can't be bothered so just say 'no' How sad is that?!

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/02/2009 13:59

I said 'no' at the hairdressers, and got my hair dyed - i was very early pg. Keep worrying about that.

nomoremagnolia · 14/02/2009 14:01

Don't beat yourself up about 'why' - I'm sure it was nothing you did.

nomoremagnolia · 14/02/2009 14:01

esp not hair dye - that's got to be seriously low risk surely?

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/02/2009 14:03

I don't think it was something i did, tbh, am nearly sure of that. Had an odd sixth sense about this pg, anyway. I had a + test the tues night, but on weds i got another test, but also sanitary towels in Boots, the tests werent as bright pos as others at that gestation, all little things but sort of knowing.

nomoremagnolia · 14/02/2009 14:10

I'm really glad you're not blaming yourself - it can be all too easy to be looking for reasons when there might not have been any. I think accepting our lack of control over the situation (both ftc and m/c) is the hardest thing ever

OracleInaCoracle · 15/02/2009 09:36

hello ladies. how are youall today?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 15/02/2009 13:43

hi Lissie how are you?
we're trying to make holiday plans but L&D appt / IVF dates are all unknow so we can't and I'm getting pissed off. We missed out on a summer holiday last year because of not knowing where we'd be with the IVF and it looks like the same thing is happening again

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/02/2009 13:49

Shit isn't it. We were going to go to Spain, but i thought i was too pg to go then, so now i dont know what to do.

nomoremagnolia · 15/02/2009 14:20

It's so infuriating isn't it? I thought once we were doing IVF privately I'd have control over the timing but now since EP I'm waiting for a L&D which means I'm back in the hands of the NHS operation scheduling nightmare. harrumph.

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/02/2009 14:25

Sorry nomore i don't really have much idea of their waiting times, etc, but can see how frustrating it must be having to wait until they are ready and not you. DH is going to Thailand, so our holiday budget is not too big this year; I don't really mind where we go, even if we stay in this country.

Saw in Boots today Pregnancare vits for conception, complete with extra mineral things - they are £9 a box though. Wondered if any extra benefit than normal pregnacare?

here

nomoremagnolia · 15/02/2009 14:45

I don't have any idea of the waiting times either! Though in Sept I was told it was 2-3 months and I was referred in Dec, so can't be too far from 2-3 months surely?
Not too sure about the pregnacare stuff, it looks very scientific what with all the extra bits but I'm always sceptical! I only take folic acid at the mo, did get Boots own version of pregnacare when doing IVF as it has fish oils in it and I don't eat fish so thought that was a good idea. Is DH going to Thailand for boxing? Sounds amazing

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/02/2009 14:51

think i may stick with the normal pregnacare - its almost like that one is sort of promoting ability to ovulate almost?? When i do that just fine....the normal one has folic acid etc in it, just not those fancy extras. We eat lots of fish, so thats ok.

Yep, he's off out there for a fortnight to train and see the sights

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/02/2009 14:55

have got a babysitter for tonight can see dh on my own

nomoremagnolia · 15/02/2009 15:02

Are you off somewhere nice together tonight?
I'm naturally sceptical about things like the pregnacare claims - I think saying it 'can help' is very vague. It's like the hair dye that says 'covers up to 100% grey' er yes, anything is up to 100% and it can't be over 100% can it!!

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/02/2009 15:09

Cinema - Benjamin Button

Thats what i thought - DH said yes take folic acid and some iron (i get very tired if i dont), but you dont need that extra stuff as you can conceive.....so i will stick with my pregnacare as that has the iron, F acid and the other vits & minerals. Companies must make ££££ from ttc ladies. Next time i think im pg im going to not test until 7 days late and obv symptoms, so i know its there and strong already. if i did that this time i would have thought this was a period and nothing else.

Saw my friend in town today, by accident. She had a baby on tuesday She has been a star through all this, checking on me daily, despite now having 3dc, but i wasnt ready to be around the baby yet iyswim. i didnt see her in the buggy but knew she was there iyswim. My friend looked so happy and i am thrilled for her, just amazing how something can knock you for six.

nomoremagnolia · 15/02/2009 15:26

Iron's good too - I was anaemic when I was younger and it's amazing the difference a bit of iron makes to your energy levels!
Enjoy the cinema - there's so many things I want to see at the moment but if past experience is anything to go by I'll not get around to seeing any of them until they're on DVD!
Totally understand abut not wanting to see your friend's baby, I find pg ladies much harder to handle than new babies but both is hard. She sounds like a fantastic friend and I'm sure she understands. There's plenty of time to get to know her new baby when you feel ready.

OracleInaCoracle · 15/02/2009 20:36

hope you are having a good time scorpio.

i may try those new pregnacare tabs, worth a chot i suppose. already take industrial strength FA (when i remember ) but knocked the asprin on the head now. nowt wrong with my blood!

Hi ladies

Not been around for a while but feel like a rant as just had ANOTHER MC this week at 5 weeks. CP I suppose but did enjoy being PG for the 1 day between testing positive and starting to bleed. Just friggin fed up of it all now .

Relate to what you're saying nomore re not wanting to put your life on hold any more especially in the 2ww. So now I'm wondering whether getting pissed on champagne and sledging (not at the same time) might have contributed to the MC?? I've spent so many years not drinking not doing this, that or the next thing and then turns out BFN so could have enjoyed myself. Boo. Arse.

I don't find it TOO awful round new babies but I could do without 3 of my friends all having twins since xmas - that's a bit bloody much coz you just get handed one to look after because mum hasn't got enough hands.

I know this is a shameless plug but I find it helps me to rant on this blog I made when I'm feeling fecked off with the TTC lark:

www.mummyfied.blogspot.com

Do any of you do blogs or know of any other good ones?

Take care of yourselves xx
