fruitbowl - i think mine was a blighted ovun; same thing really, isn't it? Very sad and still hurts

I wondered if it was my hair dye - the hairdresser asked me if i may be pg, i said no, (never am this quick anyway, let alone whilst BF), but i was. although very small, possibly before implantation, but you still wonder dont you? i think mine was a poorly egg to start with - BFP was fainter than other pgs (successful ones) and just felt wierd.

Bucky2008 · 17/02/2009 14:34

Hi everyone and thanks for the welcome Anniemac I remember you.

Sorry to hear about MC Fruitbowl that's exactly what happened to me in November except I got to have 2 days between BFP and MC...woo hoo . I actually think it was the drink that helped me get the BFP rather than made me MC (but maybe that is just because I am a total lush now that the 2ww does not constrain me ).

You have all made me feel guilty about being so crap with my FA too now so I am going to go home and shove down a handful.

BTW, if AF arrives at 11pm at night, would you count that as CD1 or the first full day as CD1. I am supposed to take my Clomid on CD2 but decided that CD1 was the first full day . I should have taken it this morning (CD2 or 3 depending on opinion) to hedge my bets, instead of leaving it to this evening.....

Anniemac I have heard of ovulation spotting before. If it is 6 days after though it could be implantation?

Bucky2008 · 17/02/2009 14:35

Oh and hope you are all having a good week...I sounded a bit brash for a minute there...

nomoremagnolia · 17/02/2009 21:45

Bucky - probably a bit late but I'd count the following day as CD1

Bucky2008 · 18/02/2009 08:48

That's what I went with in the end NoMore, I'm sure its fine. . Not that it will work anyway!! .

nomoremagnolia · 19/02/2009 18:27

Hi all, I'm feeling totally fed up (again) with ttc. I'm fed up because I finally got a date for the L&D and it's 6 weeks away. I was told the waiting list was 2-3 months but that'll be over 4 months from when I was referred I'm also quite worried about actually having the L&D too and I've ages to get myself even more worried. Talked everything through with DH and if tubes are blocked and we have to go straight to IVF then we won't be able to for various reasons until July. If the tubes are unblocked by the L&D then I'm worrying that we'll keep (or properly start!) ttc naturally and then how long do we try that for before giving IVF another go?? I suppose it ought to be a year as that's how long you're expected to take to get pg when there's no problems, but another year?? I think that would be too much to bear

Bucky2008 · 20/02/2009 08:28

NoMore did you go private with your IVF? I am just wondering why you weren't referred for the L&D before IVF? . Do you know you have blocked tubes already? Sorry, I am sure you have explained all this before .

nomoremagnolia · 20/02/2009 11:58

Our first (and only so far) go at IVF was NHS funded and they didn't offer L&D or HSG before as they thought they'd dx non-ov as my problem and low morphology as DH's (based on one single blood test for me and without taking into consideration the fact my cycles are regular and one semen analysis for DH which when repeated at the IVF clinic came back as normal to good...but don't get me started on my PCT) I guess L&D/HSG was more ££ in their eyes. I was offered L&D after failed IVF by the IVF doc as he though it was more likely that was my problem than non-ov but he said he thought it wouldn't get us any further forward as either my tubes were blocked and it'd be more IVF anyway or they weren't blocked and it was unexplained infertility and it'd be more IVF. He did say there was a small chance the tubes were blocked and the L&D could unblock them but he thought the risks of the op were greater than the potential benefits. After that I had the EP which suggests that at least one of my tubes isn't completely blocked and therefore the L&D suddenly became more potentially useful. I think they would have suggested I had it after the EP anyway? Not sure. My fertility investigation history is not really up to the same standard as everyone else's! I was given 6 months of Clomid with no monitoring except a blood test in the first month to see that the dose was right and after Clomid didn't work I was sent straight to IVF to the whole thing really!

Bucky2008 · 21/02/2009 22:49

Considering what a song and dance they make about how expensive IVF is your PCT sounds shocking!!! Mine is a little ropey but they have been very conservative with my treatment to date. To be honest, whilst I just want them to get on with it so I can have a baby, I think the way they have gone about it is sensible. I had Day3 and Day 21 bloods taken two months in a row and then when they came back normal and my DPs SA test came back normal I had the L&D, then when that was fine, they prescribed the Clomid and then the next step is IVF (unexplained infertility, I just think they egg and sperms hate each other personally...I mean some people just have to look at each other to get pg!!). Seems quite logical if a bit slow....I know that everyones situation and body is different, but it does sound like your PCT have gone about things in a weird order . I mean, how many IVF cycles do you get? My doctor told me last week that as of April in Herts, you get 3 rounds of IVF or 6 egg transfers depending on how many they harvest at collection/fertilisation. Eventually this will be national she tells me. I hope once they have made you feel spick and span you get another chance?

nomoremagnolia · 23/02/2009 20:35

nope, we only get the one go - and it was a choice between one IVF or 3x IUI. Not IUI then IVF, one or the other that it varys so much between PCTs, though it's good for you. Our next go at IVF will be with our own cash
