Hi Runtus - sorry you are in pain but happy to hear that AF is here and that you can finally start the clomid. You must be so relieved. Fingers crossed for some more good news in the new year

Hello sweetfudge - sorry the lack of AF is driving you mad but fingers crossed for you. How long are you in Borneo for?

CD35 for me and no AF and no BFP either. I am starting to rethink my dates - as I have always had a 34/35 day cycle I presumed that was what I would have again. However, I have only had 2 pill free periods since DS and while the first was 35 days the last one was 38 so perhaps they are getting longer. Will just have to wait and see I suppose but it makes me less optimistic for this month as I made a presumption about when I o'd based on a 35 day cycle and if it's later than that think we might have missed it. Oh well. Not quite sure what to do as persona says you can't use it for cycles longer than 35 days but may persevere with it for a couple of months and at least see if I can get an O.

hello to everyone else. Hope you all had good weekends.

Hulababy · 20/12/2004 09:19

Good lcuk rudydudy!

Runtus - glad you can start getting the Clomid sorted now. Hope AF pains go soon.

CD17 here. Temop not as high again today, so not sure if I have definitely OVd again.

SweetFudge · 20/12/2004 09:50

Hi JB, Apparently not re. placing dual heritage children with a couple where only one adoptive parent will reflect at least a quarter or half of the child's ethnicity. DH is v. determined not to give up and is going to speak to a different local authority to see if what we were told is actually the case. (Not to imply that the social worker we spoke to was being overtly pessimistic) but just to see if our prospects at domestic adoption are really that poor.

Hi RD, I'm on long cycles like you (mainly between 29 - 37 days) but travelling does mess it up even more. I started on persona last month and am going to keep it up for a couple of months like you to see if it will help me get a better idea of my O days. BTW, I'm in Borneo till mid Feb. It is pretty humid and the monsoon rains are getting to my sanity.

jeddah · 20/12/2004 11:39

SF my brother works for the oli company and was out in Borneo about 15-20 years ago!

Runtus.......sorry about pain but so chuffed about clomid!

Hula thanks for the link! great to read about success stories of the older biddies!

Successful shopping trip in Harrogate but we only needed bits anyway...so all done!

Missed my persona testing this am!....had until 9.30am to test and didn.t wake till 9.45am (had a lie in....shattered at the mo) So consequently it has a red light.

Just rang appointments clerk and she is at a meeting!

jeddah · 20/12/2004 11:40

oil even!

FastAsleepInAManger · 20/12/2004 12:09

Hope your dd feels better soon and that the bruises fade fast hula! I used to live in Harrogate Jed; why on earth would you want to go shopping there? Lol... Hope the pains have gone runtus! Good luck everyone waiting to test! Good luck everyone merrily bding ... Good luck with everything Hester! hugs... I don't think there'll be any luck for me this month, have started getting 'damp' not ewcm yet, but nearly - just in time for dh and I to get really awful flue, so a February BFP for me at the earliest then that seems so far away (I'm such a wimp!).... hmph why is it that men think that even though we have the same flue as them that they're worse, and us women should stay up looking after the baby all day while they go to bed!? the basrd

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 12:31

just quicklyv - jeds, can we hear good news from u this month do u think? (what day is it now?)

Tania2 · 20/12/2004 12:59

Congrats on getting your af runtus sorry its so painful hope you feel better soon best of luck with the clomid hope you get that bfp soon.
Feeling really flat today/tonight been looking on the internet re IVF. we always thought we would have to go down that road in the first place but it supprised us to have ds so really never thought of it again. its not fair reproduction shouldnt be this hard its meant to be a natural process....feeling like a real reject now.

jeddah · 20/12/2004 13:42

jeddah · 20/12/2004 14:02

Hey! where is everyone today??

jeddah · 20/12/2004 14:07

anyone there?

Hulababy · 20/12/2004 14:10

Hi there; I am kind of around. Keep popping on and off whilst playing with DD - who is still under the weather. Hoping she'll nap soon. Must make some lunch for me too soon.

How are you? Well? Ready for Christ,as?

hester · 20/12/2004 14:16

HI jeddah! Makes us seem like mere infants, doesn't it?

Hula - ouch, that sounds sore! Hope you're feeling a bit less bruised, and thanks for the link - I enjoyed reading it.

Tania, so sorry you're feeling flat .

Tan, jedds, jb, SweetFudge - about adoption: yes it will be harder because we're same sex (isn't everything ) but I'm hoping that we may have a greater chance because dp is Jamaican and I am mixed European Jewish and Irish. My understanding is that this is precisely the kind of ethnic mix that is needed in London (where we live). However, it may still not be possible to get approved and, even if we do, it may not be possible to get a child. Then there is the problem that we would likely be matched with an older child with special needs, and I work full-time... not sure this would be fair unless I could find a way to downsize and be a SAHM. So yes, I am in principle also prepared to consider adoption from overseas, but that has its own problems.

SweetFudge, I'd love to hear more about what you learned about adoption, and particularly about the ethnic mix issue. Could you tell us more, or could I CAT you?

jeddah · 20/12/2004 17:09

Gosh! this thread is very quiet!

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 17:29

i'm here and home, just gonna catch up!

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 17:35

ok, go u jeds! lol, (what's the use in working in the NHS if u can't have it work to ur advantage once in a while, (it's not liked u jumped the que for a major op or something, it's just a meeting with the gyno, (gos know's y we have to wait so long in the first place, but still there we go.

Hester - he he ur'e a dolly mixture! (or is it a choc allsort!) he he, would you be a SAHM if you were PG naturally, or would DP do it? hmm, I'm still deciding on that one, maybe I might just work a few evening a week or something in tescos? who knows.

rantus - glad AF finally turned up for u hon, what day do u start your clomid?

anyhow, best tidy up quick after the dogs and get some tea on the go.

moschops · 20/12/2004 17:55

xxxxxxxxxx*
xxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxx*

just popping in with some baby dust for you all.

we have decided to tell our family and friends about bfp on christmas day.

would like to wait until i am a bit further along really, but if i'm not drinking they will all guess anyway, and we want the pleasure of actually telling people.

xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxx

jeddah · 20/12/2004 18:26

ahhhhh moschops! Telling them all on Christmas day!........I am dead jelous! ! but dead happy for you!

JB I am just wondering what will happen on first appointment. We have had all fertility tests and 2 swimmers tests???? will it really just be history taking? Would you know?

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 18:32

well I'll certainly let u know after my app on the 11th (unless urs is first then u can tell me! ) I need to take along a morning sample, but I did ask mum about it (cos I was so stressed thinkin it would involve a lot of pokin and proding) she seems to think it will be a getting to know u stage, and learning the history etc.. and booking more tests etc.. then an app after that, thou I do hope we don't have to wait 2 months for each appoiment otherwise we'll be here till the next millenia!

jeddah · 20/12/2004 18:35

Thanks JB our appointment is on 25th Jan
You can tell me what to expect as yours is before mine!

I will take all my charts with me and all our fertility test results, that may save a few appointments, as you say, we will be here till dickdock if we have an appointment per test!!!!

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 19:35

lol, yeah I recon so, do u think I should ask my dr fro my resluts? I don't really wnat to rock the boat there as he's been really good so far, and has read back into all of my gyno probs from when I was 5, soI think it's safe to say he's informed the gyno in the hosp about it all. DH won't be coming this time- He sees the first one as one for me, and If needed he'll come to the next app, besides which it's hard for him to get time out of work considering he doesn't want the whole camp to know our personal goings on etc.. and as we're not doing it thru the med centre they can be a bit funny, esp if it mean DH having too many tests and medicines. Hopefully thuo all will be ok. Still, i'm off to sort out my washin and pack my bags for home ! yay (can't be bothered with painting this week will do it after the new yr lol!)

hester · 20/12/2004 19:36

jb, jedds, you around over christmas?

jingleballs · 20/12/2004 19:39

unfortunaly I won't be to much, but will try to stop in once a day, will be to at least check my emails - mum's laptop is on dial up and the old man complains about the phone being tied up, whilst costing a fortune (besides she doesn't want the DB to know it's on tinternet) so... but i'll be on emial if u need me. R u about much?

hester · 20/12/2004 19:41

hope to pop in and out... though will be with family so may not be easy. have just found out I am sharing bed over christmas with my three year old niece - who will no doubt wriggle, squirm and wake up every ten minutes to ask about Santa... may need to come back to work for a rest!
