Hi there Tan. Wow, what news. I'm glad the appt went well and has left you feeling more positive. And DH too. I know it isn't helpful to you but it's probably been doing his head in too and he hasn't known what to do. Also (I'm guessing) he isn't talking to anyone about it. Does he have a mate that he could talk about it all with, do you think? I just think it can be helpful for both of you to have someone outside of the relationship to talk stuff through. It gives a new perspective and it might give him space to say some of the things that are really worrying him that he doesn't want to say to you as they would really worry you too iykwim!

Sorry, that was a bit long and off the main point, which is I'm really sorry that there's nothing to be done atm to clear your tubes but I think it's great that you've made a decision to go with ivf. Just think that a few weeks ago you were going mad not knowing what was going on - now you know what's going in your body and what you can do about it. Very powerful. I wish you and DH all the luck in the world with the ivf in the new year and I hope that having made that decision you can relax a little and have a lovely Christmas together

RudyDudy · 23/12/2004 08:26

I'm a little hungover and a little sulky as still no AF and don't want to have such a LONG cycle! Nothing I can do about it of course but that won't stop me from sulking about it! Tired, hungover and grumpy - how very festive

sounds like you had a good night jb - southern builders, eh? lager top all round???

welcome dreams

hi jeddah - sorry not around last night - DH had a big promotion at work so went for a blow out meal to celebrate. Marvellous . I am really pleased about your appointment and pleased it got sorted now so you can relax over Christmas and know that you have some positive action coming up in the new year.

Speaking of DH - I think he's quite tempted to come and join in the fun! So watch out...

Tania2 · 23/12/2004 08:36

Thank you RD your very wise i really think your right about dh needing to talk to someone about it but he has just informed me that he doesnt want people to know that we are doing ivf. He feels that it is our business. He doesnt even want me to tell my bestfriend. so again you guys will be my lifeline and my sister and mum. He said he will talk with his dad about it.
Thank you for your kind words RD.
LOL

Tania2 · 23/12/2004 08:37

your dh is more than welcome.

FastAsleepInAManger · 23/12/2004 09:23

Sorry I disappeared girls! Glad to here things are going better Tania! He was so rude to assume that you had an std .. Ok, the rest of everyones news has just blurred up in my head...arg... bonkerz' scan was great news though (oh I am so behind) good luck testing on xmas/boxing day cockenzie!!! Good luck to everyone waiting for bfps...I'm currently on my way to the O...or I'm at the O...or have just passed... well you know me, I get confused! We just got over the flu in time to bd enough, I hope!!!!

Hope everyone else has a very..er...festive christmas I will be sort of dawdling next to the bottle of champers muttering 'but I might be one day pregnant, or maybe 6...or 7...aaahh' lol

FastAsleepInAManger · 23/12/2004 09:25

My back is so sore from propping myself up half the night...youch...lol...

Twiga · 23/12/2004 10:12

Morning!
Canadianmom, sounds hectic but fun! Glad you are feeling so positive about ttc, lol x

Tania, that's so good, glad things were positive and that dh is well up for the ivf. I think our men folk often suprise us, they aren't as demonstrative verbally as we women tend to be but feel things just the same - my dh has been the one who often keeps us going when I'm really fed up. Exciting start to the new year then!

Rudy, it would be nice to hear form a guy on here - have said to dh about joining in, but he's a bit shy although he often sits and reads over my shoulder.

Nice to see you fastasleep, lolx

Welcome to the thread Dreams, all the best with ttc +++++++++

CD30 here, no sign of af...............

cockenzie · 23/12/2004 10:17

thanks fastasleep.yes i keep my fingers crosses too.i been feeling really rough for the last 3 days, sore stomach and nauseated in mornings.i probably eat too much choc. today, 2pm we have a baby xmas party so that should be fun for dd.
any more testers for the next few days?

runtus · 23/12/2004 12:02

Great news Tania, now you have something positive to look forward to in the new year......on the surpirse at your dh making the quick decision to go down that route - do you think it might be because it is finally something constructive he can get involved in? I know my dh has problems with things he can't just 'sort out' or give and answer to and he would probably go for that option as well if he saw it as a positive step....you know what men are like!

Af has finished now and fell so much better....even managed to bd last night to celebrate! May have had more to do with dh's xmas party on his part but who's complaining?! Just packing to go to Scotland for xmas now and then got loads of friends round tonight for a pre-xmas drinkie - getting all festive now! Trying to resist the urge to go into town and buy loads more but might get tempted.

Oh, and supposed to be working as well but somehow dont think that is going to happen!

cockenzie · 23/12/2004 12:31

runtus - where u going abouts in Scotland?
hope u have a nice time

ernest · 23/12/2004 13:42

runtus, glad you're feeling better.
wow Tania, well, tht's certainly a step forward. best wishes all, I guess with 3 poorly little ones & no shopping done, I'm gonna be out of the picture for a while

Meryy Christmas everybody

FastAsleepInAManger · 23/12/2004 14:17

Awww ernest! I hope you all feel better soon, ear infections are horrible, horrible things. I burst my eardrum because my mum didn't notice that I had one when I was about four and I still remember the pain! Have a happy christmas!

MINNIE1 · 23/12/2004 14:45

Hi All,
I would like to wish you all a Merry christmas and a happy new year... Hope to be back on the thread in 2005 (thats if tou'll have me back)

My dear AF arrived yesterday but good news my cycle is gone from 37 days to 29 YES.... I am delighted to have a normal cycle again so here is hoping to 29 cd next month...

Hoping for all who have to test xxxxxxxx fingers crossed for you..

Love Minnie

FastAsleepInAManger · 23/12/2004 14:47

That's good news minnie! Can't wait to see your bfp in the new year

RudyDudy · 23/12/2004 17:02

Congratulations on that Minnie. I am so CD38 for me and still no AF though cramping for days and I know she is just lurking around the corner - the old witch! I bet the hag shows up on Christmas Day - ggrrrr!!!

Anyway, I'm off now on my big adventure - well, London to the Midlands anyway! - so if I don't get on again then I wish you all a very wonderful Christmas and I look forward to lots more lovely chatting in the New Year.

RD xxx

pooka · 23/12/2004 17:25

Been away from this thread for a while so some catching up to do.
Good for you Tania - glad that the appointment was so positive and looking forward to hearing about a BFP next year.
DH and I only bd'd twice this cycle as have both been suffering from horrendous coughs/colds and dd not too well with a lousy ear infection and same coughs/colds. SO no great hopes for us really this month. On day 28 (I think) with cycles usually around the 30 - 35 day length.
So am trying not to get excited and am staying well away from pregnancy tests for a while at least.

hester · 23/12/2004 17:38

Welcome to the thread, dreams!

Tania - I am so glad you now have a plan of action. I feel very strongly in my bones that you are going to get pg really quickly. IVF has great success rates for women in your position. So enjoy your Christmas, because you'll soon be giving up alcohol!

Oh, and btw, my relationship is the most beautiful, wonderful thing that ever happened to me and I'm very proud of it but don't kid yourself that women can't misunderstand or treat each other badly! As ladies in the know say, 'Nobody can break your heart like a woman can'. Seriously, though, glad he's got over his strop and you're moving forward together. Hope the two of you have a great, loving and close christmas .

Minnie - AF doesn't usually get welcomed on this thread, but I'm so pleased your cycle is settling back to normal.

Hi Canadianmom, jedds, jb! Love to you all xxx

I'm honestly thinking of you all and wishing that you get special new year presents, if not Christmas ones!
