CurlyWurly1991 · 30/09/2023 15:11

OMG @VixFromThe6ix they are progressing!! Eek!!! How many DPO are you now? Hoping this is it for you and you will have your beautiful baby in your arms soon xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 30/09/2023 15:12

@BucksOxonMum i use one step OPKs and haven’t ever had them totally blank. Wonder if it’s a faulty batch.

Supertrooper101 · 30/09/2023 15:14

@El1988 dont feel mad at yourself. You trusted the clinic, and then, no one took you seriously, so you let it drop. But now you have the info you need and hopefully your partner stops them x am not sure on your story, but have you got pregnant before whilst he has been on them? Could you maybe book another seman analysis privately?

Angelsrose · 30/09/2023 15:45

@BucksOxonMum I read a really useful book earlier this year "The Impatient Woman's Guide to getting pregnant" by Jean M Twenge and I would recommend this as urgent reading for you. If you're over 40, the author recommends seeking help straight away.
I think it's worth considering getting a GP appointment now and requesting bloods (FSH, LH, day 21 progesterone (for you with 25 day cycles it would likely be day 18 progesterone), prolactin, ferritin, thyroid, FBC, U&Es (kidney), liver function and androgen profile (including testosterone) as well as a pelvic scan.

BucksOxonMum · 30/09/2023 15:58

@Angelsrose thanks so much for your advice. I’ll book an appointment now. And will have a look for the hook - very apt title!!

happytobemrsg · 30/09/2023 16:22

I’m getting bad cramps low in my abdomen on my right side. I’m only on CD9 - could I be ovulating already? My cycles are 26-27 days

happytobemrsg · 30/09/2023 16:23

Img so exciting @VixFromThe6ix !!!!!

SnookyPook · 30/09/2023 16:25

@VixFromThe6ix eeeek!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@BucksOxonMum I also use OneStep without any issues so maybe it was a bad batch?

Bumblebee413 · 30/09/2023 16:40

@El1988 I’m so sorry. We lost our family dog earlier in the year and it is devastating. We’ve had dog photos on here before and it was wonderful. If you want to share any memories on here you are so welcome. Also well done on making sure that your clinic works for you. You’re advocating for yourself well and that isn’t easy xxx

RoseH36 · 30/09/2023 16:45

@VixFromThe6ix everything crossed for you. They are definitely getting darker.

VixFromThe6ix · 30/09/2023 17:38

Supertrooper101 · 30/09/2023 21:42

@Angelsrose whats included in the androgen test, ive not heard of that one? Is it like dhea levels?

Supertrooper101 · 30/09/2023 22:00

So i started acupuncture last week for fertility and circulation, i have raynauds so figured i would give it a whirl for that too 🤷‍♀️ ...anyway, shes told me to start temping to give her an idea on how my hormones are doing. Never knew any off this was a thing before these forums and that lol ive bought the purple femometer and was going to use the app, at the same time do the opks on there too. But now i dont know if i can use any opks or does it have to be their brand? I have the one step ones atm . If anyone can help :D

Androgen tests can help potentially rule out pcos

Angelsrose · 30/09/2023 22:57

@Supertrooper101 it's a profile which includes testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin, serum androstenedione and free androgen index. Useful for identifying any abnormalities such as PCOS which may affect ovulation.

@VixFromThe6ix 😍 this is great news! Keeping everything crossed for you. What DPO did you get your first faint line out of interest? 8 DPO here and a BFN this morning on an early test. Trying not to be disappointed but it’s hard.

CurlyWurly1991 · 01/10/2023 09:19

@Supertrooper101 sounds great. Temping is very useful for me as my periods can be irregular. I use the fertility friend app and premom for the OPKs. I use one step Opk, take a picture on Premom and that gives you a numerical value E.g. 0.6. Once it gets to or close to 1 you know it’s near or at peak, this is recorded as a + on fertility friend. You can also put the numerical values in there. It helps alongside other observations (CM, ovulation pain etc) to pinpoint ovulation and time dtd.

8dpo is early, so I wouldn't worry too much. My situation is a little bit interesting. We had a second round of IUI and with that comes a trigger shot which essentially contains HCG so my tests were positive from like day after ovulation due to that trigger shot. I tested every day to see HCG line get lighter and lighter because trigger shot HCG should leave your urine in 10 days. However my tests never became blank, there was always a line there and at some point that line started to get darker and darker which I'm assuming is now my own HCG. It's confusing but I basically started with a dark line which got lighter and then got darker again.
Wishing you all the best this cycle 🤞🏻
