@worldwidetravel2017 that's interesting as I've had a real hankering for peanuts the last couple of months! Been snacking on them and I don't normally!

AlienSuperstar · 29/09/2023 09:30

Morning ladies, Happy Friday,

Just trying to catch up with posts.

Well tomorrow is my last day on Cerelle and then I will be patiently waiting on my withdrawal bleed so we can get started :)

Hello all,

I’ve been reading for a while and it’s finally time for me to join the crew!

I’m 38 and trying for number 2 (with a new partner).

I’ve been on the combined pill until last week and my withdrawal bleed is just coming to an end. When I had my 1st it took 6 months from stopping the pill until having my first proper cycle so I have no idea what kind of time line I’ll be on now!

Excited to be sharing my journey with you all

hello, i'm in a similar situation,

I'm 37 , new partner but TTC number 1, I'm coming off the pill this weekend.

Did you get your withdrawal bleed quite quickly then ? I'm on the mini pill and can't remember how long it took last time !

Good luck in your journey x

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 29/09/2023 09:36

I'm 3 days late today and... BFN. Why do our bodies do this!? 😫 I'm thinking of sacking off the Proceive Max after I've finished this box in case it's the reason my cycle is off.

oh i've been there before, almost 10 days late one time and no BFP!..i'm not sure what Proceive Max is, however, I used to take the pregnacare vitamins and they used to really mess with my cycle!

Fullofconfusion · 29/09/2023 10:04

@AlienSuperstar

I had mine straight away.

I was on the combined pill and I’ve been taking it for 3 months at a time with no breaks so essentially no bleeds. I had horrendous “period” pain before that so doctors recommended taking it this way. I don’t even know what my regular cycle looks like! I have been on the pill since 16. I had a break when I had my 1st child and I had the withdrawal bleed straight away and then waited months before my first proper period. Then only had about 2/3 and was pregnant. I then went back on the pill about 6 months after giving birth so I’ve not had a natural cycle for a while.

I hope all goes well for you. I’m still bleeding 7 days in (very light sort of spotting now) so I’m just waiting for it to finish so I know I’ll be on track!

Do most people use an app to track cycles? I used Ovia last time but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. I’ve downloaded Flo, didn’t realise I had to pay for it but anything to help me know where I am

I'm quite similar, been on the pill since I was a teen and then came of TTC with my last husband about 4 years ago and I can't remember how long it took to get my cycles back on track.

I'm hoping my periods come back quickly tho!

I used to use Ovia but was hoping for a change this time, I downloaded flo yesterday and it was asking me to pay so I deleted it. My friend recommended one a while ago, I will need to ask her !

Will let you know if I get a recommendation :)

SnookyPook · 29/09/2023 10:11

I use PreMom. You can also upload photos of your opks on it and it gives you a rating to help you identify peak. I find it pretty good. I've not subscribed to Premium but the free version has lots of stuff anyway.

Both free versions4 both

SnookyPook · 29/09/2023 10:50

@AlienSuperstar yep 👍🏻 You can upgrade to Premium version but I've never needed to.

happytobemrsg · 29/09/2023 11:03

I’m so sorry @H0pefull it does sound like it was a chemical. Our bodies are so cruel sometimes. Be kind to yourself.

I’m on CD8 here. We BD’d CD6 & CD7 even though I KNOW it’s too early, I just remember conceiving DS2 from BD CD6 & CD10 so I figured it couldn’t hurt. Except DH is already knackered 😂 and we are due to go again tonight! Both starting to come down with a cold as well so that’s rubbish.

Edited

Proceive Max is a souped up (expensive) version of Pregnacare specifically for over 35s.

I use Premom too. The free version. I've had Clue before but I think it changed so it didn't show your fertile days... or something? As it didn't want to encourage using your cycle as a form of birth control? Premom works well with analysing OPKs which is why I've stuck with it.

CurlyWurly1991 · 29/09/2023 12:20

From what I’ve read Proceive is really much better than pregnacare. Pricier supplements are better quality in terms of ingredients (often making them more absorbable) and dosages are higher. They include CoQ10 and other fertility promoting compounds.
Now I’m a particularly sensitive sort and Proceive didn’t agree with me. I think it was the methylfolate form of folic acid. Some people react to this, it seems. I didn’t ovulate that month. I can’t pin down that was the cause.
general principles of supplementation is find out your levels before supplementing and then do so with the highest quality you can afford. I think for many people our age Proceive is a great choice. My husband is taking them (when he remembers!)
I am taking individual supplements as find these better than an overall mixed one for me. For example, B6 at 50mg in the P5P form, along with zinc and magnesium. Folic acid. Evening primrose oil until ovulation then fish oil.
everyone is different. Nutrition is vitally important with fertility and diet and lifestyle should be the starting point before supplementation.

worldwidetravel2017 · 29/09/2023 12:28

Now found out ive gotta have a ct scan
Which they cant do if im preg

MrsBP15 · 29/09/2023 12:29

@H0pefull sending you so much love and virtual hugs. You in no way being dramatic, I’m sure everyone on here has had those feelings and they are completely valid. If you can do something nice for yourself, please do try to. Even if it’s something small like having your fave chocolate or watching your feel good film or having a ginormous glass of wine (one isn’t going to hurt in the grand scheme of things and if not now, then when?!) Take your time, grieve, sit with your feelings and remember you are not alone ♥️ x

Fullofconfusion · 29/09/2023 12:29

Thanks ladies.

i’ll have a look at some different apps 😊

BucksOxonMum · 29/09/2023 12:32

I’m so sorry @H0pefull …. Sending a hug to you xx

As for me, I’m a bit confused really. I have 25 day cycles now, so thought I would ovulate earlier. I’m cd 9 today - yesterday afternoon I had a very feint line on an opk. I thought great, it’s all starting. Now today I’ve just done one and it’s completely blank.

Really thought with a 25 day cycle I would be showing some sort of line on it?!

😩

VixFromThe6ix · 29/09/2023 12:43

@H0pefull sending you big hugs!!

OP posts:
VixFromThe6ix · 29/09/2023 12:45

@BucksOxonMum I don't think there is ever a blank line on the LH tests.... maybe that's a faulty test. The line may be very light but there will always be a line. Fingers crossed you get your peak soon!!

OP posts:
BucksOxonMum · 29/09/2023 12:52

@VixFromThe6ix Should I do another? God I hate all this! My worry now is what if I’m too old to ovulate 😭
