Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

My temp dropped well below the cover line this morning 🙃 Maybe next cycle. Hope you get an answer soon @secondtimelucky87 and keeping my fingers crossed for you, @Daniki !

I'm so sorry lovely!

No update here. Now 2 days late, temp remains high 36.85 and still testing negative on the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. What's going on?!

@etaketak1991 sorry lovely we move to the next cycle 🙌 I'm going to attempt to not test ovulation and dtd every second night to cover all bases! I'm out too, BFN still! X

Daniki · 29/10/2023 06:36

@secondtimelucky87 hopefully your positive is still to come 🙌

etaketak1991 · 29/10/2023 06:52

@secondtimelucky87 How puzzling! I guess that at least your luteal phase has extended which is good. Hanging in limbo is the worst though, you just want to know either way!

@Daniki Aw I'm sorry love. Might follow your lead and not bother testing ovulation next cycle and buy myself something nice with the money I've saved haha.

Daniki · 29/10/2023 06:59

@etaketak1991 definitely! Should hopefully take the pressure off 😁🙌 xx

secondtimelucky87 · 29/10/2023 07:24

Don't blame you ladies at all for not wanting to track this cycle! It took 3 years to conceive my first and then lockdown happened, we were both super chilled out, relaxed, drinking cocktails on our balcony every night and BAM: pregnant! So maybe there is something in that method 🤣

I'm wondering if Vitamin C is responsible for what's going on with my cycle? I took an extra 500mg on top of Proceive and it definitely seems to have extended my luteal phase. I surely can't be pregnant and testing negative at 13dpo.

etaketak1991 · 29/10/2023 07:37

@secondtimelucky87 It can't hurt giving the relaxed method a go, although what "relaxed" looks like with a 3 year old, I don't know 😂

It does look like the extra vitamin C might be the cause for you. Still, I guess you never know!

secondtimelucky87 · 29/10/2023 10:56

Another 2 negative pregnancy tests here! I'm now on cycle day 29 and 13dpo. Think I'm going to stop taking vitamin C now and just hope my period makes an appearance soon. Just want to try again now! 🥺

@secondtimelucky87 vitamin c can extend luteal phase, I wouldn't be worried about that because the longer the luteal phase the higher chance of pregnancy I think? I was taking it this cycle too, cycle day 27 13dpo and tiny bit of spotting this morn so seems to have helped me aswell! Xx

No doubt about it working for both of us then haha! I think I just want to stop now until AF shows up as I'm impatient to start TTC again! But yeah a longer luteal phase is still a good outcome 🤗

@secondtimelucky87 Sorry about your BFNs again 😞 It's hard, isn't it? Have you got any AF symptoms yet?

I've been SO hormonal this morning (my poor DH haha) so AF is certainly on the way!

Literally nothing! I'm so confused! Genuinely just willing it to bloody (no pun intended) start now. 🤣 I'm usually very grumpy in the lead-up, mega hormonal, skin breaks out etc etc!

@secondtimelucky87 Oh wow, it's doing a good job then! My AF turned up approximately 10 minutes after I posted that last message, ha, so I'm officially back on CD1.

OK that's spooky cos I just had pink spotting so guess mine here too. We really are all cycle twins (triplets)! Onwards to the next cycle! If nothing else I'm chuffed with a 13 day luteal phase so will stick with the vitamin c!

etaketak1991 · 29/10/2023 16:55

@secondtimelucky87 Blooming heck, I wasn't expecting that 😂 I was just thinking we'd be out of sync for once! Glad the vitamin C worked well for you. Fingers crossed for a lucky cycle 🤞🤞

Daniki · 29/10/2023 18:58

@etaketak1991 @secondtimelucky87 hopefully mine starts tomorrow so we can all be synced again for the next totally relaxed cycle 😝🫢

etaketak1991 · 01/11/2023 19:36

How are we all this evening? @Daniki did AF arrive for you in the end? My AF has been the heaviest it's been since removing my IUD in June so 🤞 it's good progress! Never thought I'd be happy to not have a very light period again but here we go 😂

Daniki · 02/11/2023 07:32

@etaketak1991 yep mine came Monday then! Was so heavy Tuesday, horrendous! Starts my higher dose letrozole so hopefully this cycles a good one! Don't think Il track this month, have no opks bought and trying to stay strong 😂 xx

secondtimelucky87 · 07/11/2023 17:07

Hi ladies, sorry I missed your messages! Didn't get a notification and then when I tried to reply earlier the page kept crashing! Hope you're both doing OK 😊

In the end I persuaded my husband to just pay for private sperm analysis as the wait on NHS was ridiculous. Turns out both motility and count are very low. I'm absolutely gutted tbh. In fairness to him he's been right on it with booking consultation with specialist, getting lots of advice, tonnes of vitamins, eating really well and going hard at the gym. We're both just a bit worried as nine of us are spring chickens! The specialist said basically we can keep trying if we like but the odds of it happening are slim. 😢

So I don't know what we'll do. Apparently it can take 3 months for the effect of those lifestyle changes to be seen. I guess we'll maybe try on peak days of fertile period but in the knowledge that realistically no pregnancy is going to happen any time soon. On the bright side at least we know what the issue is and hopefully it'll happen at some point.

Any news your end? X

@secondtimelucky87 Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that! At least now you've identified the problem, you can work on fixing it! Sounds like your DH is doing all the right things too 🤞 I'm tempted to get a cheap sperm count test now tbh.

I'm doing ok so far! Fertile week is just around the corner. Got denied pay progression at work which sucks, but last time that happened I conceived days after, I was so pissed off 😂 Maybe it'll help this time!

secondtimelucky87 · 07/11/2023 18:50

Yeah I won't lie - it's hard not to feel a bit deflated. It's obviously a good thing we found out when we did so he can act on the advice given but still. 💔 Glad we didn't wait around for NHS referral as who knows how long we could have been waiting? It was expensive but money well spent, especially considering our ages. I'm hoping it'll have improved within 3 months. The specialist said in 60% of cases this is all it takes. Fingers crossed as I couldn't put myself through something like IVF.

Definitely look into the cheap sperm test. It's shocking how little awareness there is around male fertility and so many couples must not be aware!

So sorry to hear about the pay progression! Really feels like jumping through hoops sometimes doesn't it? I've been 'part time' since I went back from maternity but my workload feels no different to before - just less money!

etaketak1991 · 07/11/2023 19:16

@secondtimelucky87 Sounds positive, really hope it helps things for you both 🤞 You've convinced me, I've just ordered the easy@home one off Amazon! Hoping that if the problem is DH's swimmers, it'll flag up something that we can get further investigated as we won't be eligible to even be considered for another 6 months on the GP.

Amen to that, I'm on 0.6 but feels no different to full time 😂 I can't even change jobs as you need to be at a job for a year in order to get enhanced mat leave! So frustrating.

@Daniki , how's it going for you? Nearing fertile week too?

Daniki · 07/11/2023 20:41

@etaketak1991 @secondtimelucky87 hey ladies! Sorry to hear about your DH results, I was watching Lucy Watsons fertility video earlier and she mentioned coQ10 200mg 3xday is supposed to help but as you said can take 3-6 months. I was in tk my husband about booking this privately aswell just to see!

@etaketak1991 the pay progession denial is shit! 😩 hopefully the anger helps you conceive again! 🙌

Just entering fertile week,I'm on CD9 and my AF only finished last night 🤔 not tracking this month, (it will drive me mad 😂) going to dtd every 2nd night and hope for the best!

etaketak1991 · 09/11/2023 17:51

@Daniki Yikes, that sounds like a long period!! I used to have 8 day periods when I was on the coil and they SUCKED. Good luck 🤞🤞 I chickened out and have been tracking again this month haha.

@secondtimelucky87 How are you doing, lovely?

I got a 0.14 on my LH tests today (normally they're 0.0something) so getting close 🤞

Thanks lovely. He's on Wellman Conception then extra Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Magnesium. I'll check how much CoQ10 is in the Wellman. Poor guy is already rattling from all the tablets he's taking! 🤣

Definitely recommend the private sperm analysis tbh. It's a lot (was £200 here in London) but we could've just kept going for ages without knowing what the issue was and time already not on our side!

I hope the not tracking helps. I'm sure there's something in the theory of not being too stressed that helps! 🤗
