Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

Guess who got a cover line this morning! 🙌 I mean, it's a whole 0.3°C higher than my last two months but I'll take it. At least I'll be able to confirm my usual pattern (drop at 9dpo) if nothing else this month 👍

Daniki · 18/10/2023 12:34

@etaketak1991 what's a cover line? I don't temp so I find it all so confusing 😂

etaketak1991 · 18/10/2023 12:48

@Daniki Oh it's super confusing 😂 A cover line is a line that appears after recording three lower temps and three higher temps after ovulation. It's an algorithm that essentially confirms that you ovulated. Here's my chart last month for reference, the horizontal line across is the cover line ☺️

Daniki · 18/10/2023 12:53

@etaketak1991 god I'd be so confused with that but it's interesting! Did hear it was a reliable way of tracking tho 🙌

secondtimelucky87 · 18/10/2023 15:34

Hi ladies, I can massively relate to the toddlers being little handfuls! My LO has been having the most shocking meltdowns. I actually ended up searching the Mumsnet forums about it and apparently it's very normal for this age. Doesn't make it any easier though! Mine is properly on the floor, flailing away, screaming her head off for ages. We do the usual getting down on her level and trying to calm her down but yeah: it's hard! So you're not alone haha.

I also got a coverline this morning @etaketak1991 and my BBT spiked to over 37! Slightly worried it could be because I'm ill though, even though I don't have a fever. I hope not!!

@secondtimelucky87 Oh it's so normal at this age for them to be crazy. I think I do deep breaths at least twice every day 😂 Sounds like you're doing everything right though, just got to grit your teeth through it!

Hooray for the coverline and BBT spike! Could it be related to the higher LH reading? Hope it's not related to the cold. How are you feeling?

Oh yes, lots of deep breaths! 🤣

I'm OK thank you- just an annoying cold really so can't complain! How about you? Really confused by that huge BBT spike as I don't think I've ever recorded a temp over 37! Yeah could well be a link with those higher LH readings maybe. I guess time will tell?!

@secondtimelucky87 I'm finally almost at the end of this infection, thankfully! My ribs still hurt when I walk at any speed but it's a massive improvement from what it was! I had a big temp dip today but my BBT is so weird this cycle I'm not reading anything into it 😂 Premom has estimated me at 3dpo, but honestly who knows! How is your temp looking today?

Sorry lovely - I missed this yesterday!

Ah I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm the same. Was a pretty short-lived cold. I did start taking an extra 500mg of vitamin c on top of all my other supplements this month (as heard it can help extend luteal phase) so maybe that helped?! Who knows?

I'm 4dpo today and also had a bit of a dip. Nothing much to read into just yet so it's yet another waiting game. I've chilled out about it all tbh recently. I just wonder how on earth we'll find the energy/enthusiasm for all the scheduled BD if this isn't the month either! We shall see. It's already started feeling like a bit of a chore sometimes...

It's half term and I'm a teacher so hoping to catch my breath a little (at least on the days my little darling is at nursery 🤣)!

@secondtimelucky87 Oh hey, I'm a teacher too! I'm secondary, how about you? Hope you have some nice things planned for the days DD is at nursery! My DH is a teacher too, so we use them as date days 😂

Yeah that spike might have been your body fighting off the cold, by the looks of it! I've attached mine too, but there's no rhyme or reason this month 😂 Especially as I'm missing temps for a week.

I hope the vitamin C works for you, it's on my list to buy when they pay check comes in!

Oh no way! Yeah I'm secondary trained too but currently teaching a mixture of ks2 and 3! Nothing planned yet for the nursery days yet tbh. I'm most excited about the prospect of doing very little. It was SUCH a long half term. You?

5dpo and I've been absolutely shattered the last couple of days. Struggling to stay awake past 9pm!

I just bought the cheapest Boots own brand Vitamin C (500mg). I know what you mean though - all the supplements, OPKs and silly gadgets add up!!

@secondtimelucky87 The autumn term is the WORST, but last half term wasn't so bad considering I had to take two weeks off haha. Dreading coming back and seeing how little the students did with the cover supervisors though 🙃 It gets easier after Christmas for me, only 7 weeks to go!

Are you 6dpo today too? I'm just attributing any changes so far to being ill/end of term haha.

Daniki · 22/10/2023 09:21

@secondtimelucky87 I'm on those vitamin c aswell! With the added vitamin d? I take the soluble ones I try and avoid hard tablets at all costs because I have Crohn's disease and a stoma bag so most likely don't absorb fully!
@etaketak1991 Also 6dpo today! I try and not symptom spot as it's just made it more disappointing for me 😂 I get sore boobs every cycle and think that's it but then AF comes, I read it's also a symptom on low progesterone which I seem to have!
Going for the 21 day progesterone test again on Tuesday, hopefully good news 🙏

etaketak1991 · 22/10/2023 09:57

@Daniki Oooooh are we all synced! That's handy! Best of luck for day 21 tests, I hope they give a useful result!

This month I'm taking:

  • Conceive plus (CoQ10, myo inositol and ginger)
  • Vitamin D
  • Sainsbury's pregnancy plus
  • Calcium with vitamin D

Next month I might add high dose vitamin C and B6 to the mix 🤪 Thanks for the Boots recommendation!

Daniki · 22/10/2023 10:52

@etaketak1991 boots is so handy as they have the 3 for 2 on all supplements (well here in Ireland anyway but I'm sure England too!) I might throw in some coQ10 next cycle if I'm unlucky this one! Haha we are all synced it's great for testing 😂 x

I am! And still mind-bendingly exhausted, although that might be because we've had a week of particarly big toddler emotions here. 🫠 Otherwise no symptoms. What about you? I've had a bit of a dip (0.16C) from ovulation temp but that's about it. If this isn't the month I'm hoping my husband gets given an appointment soon for SA!

Mine are just the plain vitamin c 500mg! They taste absolutely rank though for some reason! Really sour. Soluble is a good shout as they're quite nice and refreshing anyway!

Does seem we're all in sync haha!

@secondtimelucky87 Nope, no symptoms here. I'm weirdly drier on CM than usual over the last few days, but that's probably part of being ill and likely not drinking enough water 😂

My temps are looking good but tbh my.patterm is that they always peak today (7dpo) then start plateauing/ dropping. I should see a big drop on Thursday if I'm out ☺️ My cover line adjusted up AGAIN! It's now 0.4°C above usual 😂

That chart IS looking good. 🤞 Mine are all very close to the coverline and not yet going up so I'm not feeling too hopeful but we'll see! My CM is pretty much the same as always so no changes there.

I'm on my way into school to do some planning and after the weekend of meltdowns we've had, it is genuinely a relief. 🤣 I can just get my head down, drink coffee undisturbed and not have anyone ask me anything. 🙈 Also paying enough for nursery not to send her in at least a few days!

Have you got anything nice planned? We've got family coming to stay for a few days from Wednesday which will be nice as my LO will have her little cousins to run riot with. 😊

BTW what do you use to temp with? I just use the easy @ home thermometer and stick it in my mouth. I wonder if there are more reliable devices out there, though I'm loathe to spend any more money!

@secondtimelucky87 Your temps are looking nice and consistent! My temps always arch quite high but then fall earlier than normal, usually about 4 days before AF. I just use the £8 easy@home thermometer in my mouth too 😂 I know some people temp vaginally which might be more accurate?

We're taking DD to the cinema today to see the new teenage mutant ninja turtles movie as it's on cheap kids rates haha. She's at preschool wed/Thurs so we're thinking about what we're going to do then. I've got lots of insurance money coming in soon (my bag was nicked on a school trip abroad with everything in 🙄) so might do a bit of retail therapy!

I don't know about you but I find parenting 100% easier with other adults around, so that sounds like a nice break to me! Hope your planning goes well ☺️

@Daniki how are you doing, lovely?

Daniki · 23/10/2023 10:07

God I'm wondering should I try temping next cycle? 😂 does it work if you're up a few times in the night with a toddler? 😂 so I tested this morn at 7dpo, I know 😂, obviously negative! I find I have no restraint when I get to this stage I test like a lunatic. I'm also not working atm so being home all day 😅 I did notice when I went for a wee the tissue was a bit dark, this happens me every cycle before I start spotting before AF comes so that's annoyed me a bit.
Iv a few ulcers in my mouth, usually associated with my Crohn's but since iv surgery iv basically had the "cure" so not sure what that's from, I was hoping a weird early pregnancy symptom 😂 getting the 21 day progesterone test tomorrow so hopefully that will show the letrozole worked!

I think it's definitely worth trying the temping as it's just quite interesting I find!

I get mouth ulcers too. The absolute pits, aren't they? So painful!! I think mine are often linked to stress/being run-down but know if can be a sign of some vitamin deficiency too?

Hope your AF isn't on the way! 🤞

Ahh that sounds really fun! Enjoy! We've not done the cinema with mine yet so something to try one day 😊

Yeah definitely easier parenting with others around! Though just found out my nephew has a dodgy tummy so hopefully they can still make it! They live far away so depends on whether he can make it through the journey!

Sorry to hear about your bag being nicked. How awful! Glad you were compensated for it though and hopefully can treat yourself to something nice!
