Q I’ve done 2 ovulation strips cheapies not digital and it’s blank but just had jelly type discharge only day 16 and I ovulated around the 24th last month does that mean I’m going miss my window this month apps say my window is from the 3r to the 8th I can’t even dtd now till the 5th

If it’s still thick and cloudy as well as jelly-ish then you probably haven’t entered your fertile window yet (although cervical secretions can vary based on hydration, hormone levels and individual differences). If you’re also getting negative OPKs and you normally ovulate later in your cycle then it’s probably still a bit early (although it never hurts to DTD just in case!)

Cervical secretions normally increase around ovulation and will be pretty thin, clear and stretchy (like fresh egg white). I’d keep monitoring them and also keep doing OPKs twice a day to make sure you don’t miss your peak. If you don’t get pregnant this cycle then you might want to consider taking your BBT (basal body temperature) next month so you can check if you’ve ovulated.

Tigger1116 · 27/09/2023 12:51

@pontipinemum just some Amazon cheapies I had in the draw I normally use the CB digital but have run out of them my cycles are roughly 40days give or take so I ovulate later I really hope I don’t miss my window every ovulation calculator online says the same 3rd to 8th so the donor is coming over 5/6/7

Tigger1116 · 27/09/2023 12:54

@Monkeymonkeymoo thank you for your reply 😊

Confusedddddddd · 27/09/2023 13:07

Pls can I join? Currently CD 5. I'm 37, on cycle 3 trying for baby #2.
I think I'm going to track BBT this cycle as last one I had a weird short 9day luteal phase and despite getting ovulation pain and using opks I'm wondering whether I got dates wrong.

I've also got a follow up next week after a ruptured ectopic in July during which I also had some cysts removed so hopefully I'll find out more about my chances of getting pregnant with one tube and one working ovary on opposite sides.

I'm also planning on asking for a Hycosy to check the remaining tube.

Givemepickles · 27/09/2023 13:17

Also wanting to join :) hello! I'm 38, TTC no 2 and on CD9. Should ovulate this weekend. My cycles are only 24-25 days now. DS just turned 1 and I wasn't ready before to be pregnant again but this month feel so excited to try and hopefully be lucky enough to have a second.

pontipinemum · 27/09/2023 13:57

@Confusedddddddd I never really had ovulation pain before but I think I may have had it today. Sort of a pain on the right side of what I guess is my womb. Not very painful but uncomfortable.

@Tigger1116 can you upload them to the premom app? That does complicate things with a donor time line. Hopefully the online apps are correct

spacewitch10 · 27/09/2023 14:41

Hi ladies,

Just after opinions if anyone thinks this is an indent or just a very very faint positive.

I did it yesterday morning at 9dpo, took another one this morning (both fmu) and it's exactly the same, no darker or lighter.... I'm not convinced this isn't an indent though?! What are your thoughts?

pontipinemum · 27/09/2023 16:30

@spacewitch10 it's very hard to see anything - I'm on the laptop tho.

Did it get any darker through the day? I know not technically correct but to date I have never had a negative test spontaneously get a line hours after the time stated. In fact my positive strips faded.

spacewitch10 · 27/09/2023 17:10

@pontipinemum hi, no it didn't get any darker, if anything lighter and harder to see, that one came up within 3 minutes 🤷🏻‍♀️

PurplePops · 28/09/2023 07:07

Morning Ladies! Hope you're all doing okay 💕 sending lots of baby dust to us all this month 💫

I'm curious how long you all wait to take a test? With my son I waited until I missed a period but I'm 2/3DPO and feeling impatient already!! 😂 also do you class DPO as the day after a positive OPK or the day after that x

Sleepysheepish · 28/09/2023 08:03

@PurplePops Generally I think it’s the second day after your peak LH. Or at least that’s how it works out for me 😇

MrsHousePlant · 28/09/2023 08:12

How is everyone getting on?

Currently 3DPO and trying not to over think or get my hopes up this month. That’s what I have found hardest the last couple of months but I think I’m now at the realisation stage that this isn’t something that just happens quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all 🤞🏻✨

beaniesunrise · 28/09/2023 09:24

@MissSB18@TTCnewbiesInteresting! I’ll probably be more aware of ovulation symptoms this time, and try to keep an eye out. My tracker says 2/3rd is ovulation day. This is my first month trying child #2, currently have a 3 year old 😊how about yourself?

@PurplePops @MrsHousePlant Morning! Last time I checked I was 5 days before expected AF and got a faint with dc1. Probably going to do the same this time. Haven’t entered tww like you guys yet, so looking forward to see how you get on, lots of baby dust ✨

@beaniesunrise looking forward to seeing your progress - how long did it take you to conceive your 3 year old if you don't mind me asking? I have a 5 year old son and he is desperate for a little brother (not so sure on a sister though 🤣). Since we started properly trying in Feb, it's like my body is playing tricks on me and I've had a fair few months where I've not ovulated, AF has been been irregular etc so I'm hopeful for this month as everything seems to be as it should 🤞 I'm currently either 5 or 6dpo & symptom spotting as we do - I'm fully aware I will have zero pregnancy symptoms yet 🤣
Xx

fr4zzledmum · 28/09/2023 09:35

Morning - can I join? We are TTC for DC2, only just started this month and at present I'm not using ovulation tests, just going by estimations on my app, of which ovulation day is estimated to be tomorrow.

Katie276 · 28/09/2023 10:38

Hey everyone, haven’t messaged in what seems like ages! I think we’re just at the end of our fertile week at the min so hopefully we’ve done enough this time! It’s only our 2nd month trying for #1 though so trying not to get my hopes up too much! Can’t believe how much I’m obsessing though!

pontipinemum · 28/09/2023 12:18

Not looking great for this month. I seem to have peaked yesterday and it's very low. I'm going to count today as 1DPO but not holding out much hope

pontipinemum · 28/09/2023 12:23

@Katie276 It's hard not to get wrapped up in it isn't it!

wanderlustre · 28/09/2023 13:17

@pontipinemum mine usually look like yours. I never seem to get over a 0.6. I got my peak on 20th and some mild cramps the following day so was pretty sure I ovulated this month. I took a progesterone test for the very first time this morning and it was positive. I'm not entirely convinced I ovulate every month tbh so will definitely use a progesterone test again on a month when I'm less certain now that I have them.

@PurplePops I try to wait until 4 days before my missed period as the accuracy rate is like 94% but I always cave and do one at 6 days too (the accuracy is more like 70 or 80 something % then I think). That way I know to take the results with a pinch of salt but also can prepare myself that it's most likely not going to be this month.

@MissSB18 Ahh fingers crossed for you! ✨Spotting could also be implantation bleeding? With my first, I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle of trying, didn’t really know what I was doing. Just used my phone tracker to see when my fertile window was and ovulation. I remember spotting on 5dpo and having symptoms like cramps, crying, headaches and then I got a cold on 11dpo and then I tested that night. This is my 1st month trying 🥸 so not doing any OPK tests just going by my phone tracker.
looking forward to seeing your progress also! 😁

@wanderlustre I've never used progesterone tests. I must look them up, do they tell you if you have ovulated? I did get cramps so hopefully I did!

Also I must be pregnant with a girl I've just seem 3 magpies 🤣

wanderlustre · 29/09/2023 09:36

@pontipinemum Yesterday was my first go of them. You're supposed to do one straight after your period so you've got a baseline negative but I didn't realise that until they arrived (so I'm just planning on doing it after my next period instead). You then take one at 7dpo and it should show a positive for progesterone meaning you ovulated. The pack says to continue testing for another 3 days but because I got a positive on the first go (and I was pretty certain I ovulated anyway), I'm going to save them for next month. I got the Proov ones from Amazon. £15 for 5 which is supposed to be one months supply but like I said, I plan to spread mine a bit further out. I'm interested to use them in a month I'm not as certain I ovulated in.

Mi3mi · 29/09/2023 13:13

Hello all! Please can I join your group too? 🥰 it’s my first month TTC and I’m 33. I had regular cycles the last 5 months so I thought I’d be like clock work but I had my LH surge only late last l night continuing into today (a week late - we are exhausted!) I only had EWCM for one day (yesterday), not sure if that’s very short. Looking forward to getting to know you ladies better and baby dust to everyone!
