Heidis your problem has been solved... for a cheat sheet just look at the top of the page where it says 'useful stuff' and then click on the acronym list. Hope this helps, you'll soon get used to tho lingo tho.

Still no AF today will it be terrible of me to test tomos when DP isn't around?

caspercat · 04/03/2008 21:17

Hello, room for one more?? Have been reading through thread, trying to get to know everyone's business (!), but it's a long one!! Don't want to intrude as you all seem to know each other so well, but would really love some help, and am a bit shy!!
TTC no2 since Oct 07 (DD 19mths old). Have irregular cycle (28 - 39 days), took 2 years to conceive DD, am 38yrs old & feel slightly pessimistic that we've missed the boat. The figures have always confused me, esp as cycle so irregular, so any advice appreciated.
Been reading about EWCM as indicator, wondered about ovulation kits - is it really worth getting them from E-bay, how can they be so cheap?? If not, which are the best? (but really can't afford £25 Boots ones!!)
Sorry for the long 1st post, thanks for reading xxx

xxhunnyxx · 04/03/2008 21:31

Hi caspercat I've no idea about ovulation kits as I just look at CM and try to do as much BD'ing as possible. Just thought I'd say hi and welcome anyway tho. I'm sure that someone will be along soon who can give u all the advice you need.
Good luck x

twinklingfairy · 04/03/2008 21:43

Hi casper, welcome, we are a really lovely bunch don't be afraid, ei get up and let casper have a go on the lazy boy

I would recomend the ebay ovulation sticks, they worked for me. I have stopped using them now, cos I am trying to relax a bit more. Ha
But you are right, who can afford the £25 Boots want?
I also take my temp every morning, it really helps to see the way that my cycle works. It's also why I have stopped using the opk's because I can see the rise of my temp after ov. EWCM helps to confirm this, but last month I had very little (that is, I couldn't see it, sometimes it hides away up there)
Temping might help you too, cos of your irregular cycles.

Hope I have helped and not confused.
I have been TTC #2 since june 07, so you are not alone here with the lows of lots of BFP's
Saying that we do get lots of BFP's on here, I am patiently (ha,..again) waiting for mine
Give me you details and I could add you to the list, if you wanted?

Incognito - same thing happened to me, I hink it's the pressure of BD'ing at the right time, we get all het up and then the men do or say something stupid and then it all comes out in one huge row, I think it's to be expected but it's damn annoying!
Hope you make up quickly
Hi to everyone else, missed yesterday, in bed with migraine there was so mmuch to catch up on, still off today but decided I wold brave it just to come on MN!
Hi to the newbies, welcome hope your settling in on the couch with ei
FL good luck for your appt pnkgirl hope something happens for you soon either way so you know where you are.
I need to ask a question too, this was my first month of temping and using OPK's together, I got a +ve OPK on Saturday, but forgot to take temp Sat/Sun as too busy IYKWIM but last 4 days temp still rising? Have I cocked it up? Thought it was only supposed to rise a few days after ovulation not keep on rising? Help

JollyBear · 05/03/2008 10:18

Morning all,

mollie Your temp should keep on rising . You have to get three high temps to confirm you have ov but then it usually keeps on rising. It starts to drop out of your high range if AF is going to arrive, or it will stay high if you are pregnant. There can be the odd dip in temp for not reason at all so don't worry if that happens especially as some ladies get an implantation dip 7 - 10 days after ov! I hope that all makes sense . The fertility friend on-line book or charting course is really useful and gives loads of info.

Sorry to hear about your row incognito. TTC can be really stressful.

cricri · 05/03/2008 10:38

I'm going to be brave and graduate
Saw doctor this morning for first AN appointment and no early scan even with a previous mmc I'm going to have to go private - Dr advised to wait until 8 weeks.
Sorry to hear about rows with DHs/DPs - the pressure does really get to you/them at times. If it's any consolation, less BD'ing actually worked for me this month. Fingers crossed for you all.
Welcome to the newbies - hope your stay is very short!
Piper Hope you're OK and recovering well.
