good luck cc and ei bs glad that af has nearly packed her bags

ScaryHairy · 30/03/2008 20:01

JaamyBunny I ov'd on day 17, had lots of BFNs, then my temps dropped on day 32 and AF arrived for 5 days, then my temps looked too high for normal follicular phase (although not as high as they can be in my luteal phase) so I did a test and, on day 38 (assuming AF was not AF or a miscarriage), it was BFP.

Have been to the hospital for bloods - the first one is positive and HCG level of 348, the second lot were taken today (by a shaky-handed SHO - ouch - I had to put ice on my arm when I got home!). I've had a scan too but they couldn't see anything. I understand that this is not unusual and that some Drs say beans don't show up until HCG levels hit 2000. If they have not at least doubled by the second test then I guess the bean is either not sticky or may be ectopic.

Congratulations on your BFP, Piper. It's good to hear from other people who have had similar things.

And Yay for AF, Fruitloop (never thought I would say that).

ei I have my fingers crossed that the dip on 9dpo on your chart is implantation.

caspercat · 30/03/2008 20:26

OK, hope this works!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 30/03/2008 20:40

Could anyone help me with 2 stupid questions?? What is 'luteal phase', and (this is the really stupid one!) - when you figure out when you ovulated on your temping chart, unless you are PG, does that mean AF should arrive 14 days later?? Am so to have to ask, but if i can't ask here, where can i??!
Thanks again for reading, hope everyone well, seems quiet here this weekend xxxxx
BABY DUST FOR ALL*

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 30/03/2008 22:03

CC you should look for tiredness not helped by sleep, headaches, weight gain (tho not always-i had alot of weight gain) UAT can cause problems after conception due to the lower temp not being ideal but if you take the correct dose of medication this should not be a problem a low temp is a classic sign of UAT so i would ask the GP to send you for a blood test and even if the results appear normal, if you have the symptoms it is likely that a small dose would help you but you would have to take these for life unfortunately. i am on them for life but i do get all of my prescriptions free due to this so every cloud and that

OP posts:
EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 30/03/2008 22:05

CC the luteal phase is the time between ov and Af and some people get AF between 10 and 14 days after ov so it would depend on how long your luteal phase was as to when you would expect AF how long are your cycles usually??

OP posts:
xxhunnyxx · 30/03/2008 22:11

Hi CC the luteal phase is the time between ovulating and and AF arriving. As far as I'm aware the number of days isn't too important unless it is under 10, in which case there may not be enough time to allow implantation.
AF doesn't necessarily arrive 14 days after ovulation but this is about average.

caspercat · 30/03/2008 22:17

Thanks again for your quick replies. It all makes sense now. So i guess when AF arrives this month, it'll give me a rough idea of luteal phase. My cycles are anywhere btwn 30 -40 days normally, although this is the 1st cycle i've monitored this closely. EI, am fairly sure my thyroid function was checked when i had blood tests when ttc DD1 (and also when initially pg), and they were normal. Though i guess things can change!
Will keep an eye on it though, thanks for the tip

xxhunnyxx · 30/03/2008 22:20

cc I've just found this on the net about luteal phases, it just explains it a bit clearer... LP explained

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 30/03/2008 22:24

CC thyroid funtion can change virtually at any point and is affected by large hormonal shifts due to it being controlled by the same gland. i had thyroid tests by one GP and the results came back as normal and then about 6 weeks later a different GP sent me for TFT and i was underactive. he suggested that i might have been steadily declining for a while and that was why i appeared normal at first though i had the symptoms worth a check to rule it out though

Gosh,it's busy here tonight!

Scary - all I can say is that I hope you get good news from test - that level is up. Was in the same waiting game just last week and it's not great. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Bucky and Piper - I was put on clomid after 2yrs of TTC and (like Piper) after just 2 cycles got pg with the most fabulously lovely DD1 (now 4yo). Didn't need any help with DD2 (now 2.5yo). Agree, clomid is fabulous stuff.

CC - thanks for asking all the questions and making things a bit clearer for me, too. Hope you get some good news soon.

Fruitloop - Congrats on getting to the end of your cycle. Sorry for being ignorant but does this mean that you have a big wait for ov or can you start 'productive' BD soon?

Hi all, I have been lurking but I think its good luck to join in by the looks of it! Congratulations to all who have graduated. I am CD18 cycle 4 TTC 2 I have used predictor kits this month but if its not to be I am definately switching to temp charting so I can be obsessed with that too!! Cant believe who much this is doing my head in, i think if i could i would be on the PC in PJ's all day just obsessively looking up symptons and whether antibiotocs affect fertility etc, whether my weight is affecting it etc etc!

I fell pregnant by accident with nos1 DS and stupidly imagined this would be easy?!

This is it though, i have joined you and that it going to be my lucky charm. Good luck to all of us.

luckyt · 31/03/2008 09:24

Oh yes, please can I be added to the lucky list of waiters?

tinkerbell2 · 31/03/2008 09:35

hi lucky welcome to the fun house
if you copy and paste list you can add yourself in
highlight list press ctrl c then ctrl v in new message window
good luck

MollieMooma · 31/03/2008 09:50

Morning lucky and welcome, let's hope your name brings luck to us all, and here's hoping your stay is a short one

If your not confident with adding yourself on the list just shout and I'll do it for you

beaniesteve · 31/03/2008 14:03

Well.... I had my bizzarely long cycle last month, then I had spotting which was different as I usually just start my period really heavily, and now on day 5 it seems to be stopping!

This is unheard of for me and I am thinking it must be B6.

Clearblue fertility monitor should let me start testing soon. I am feeling positive.
