Ladies - you may now continue the chatting

BB have just done your survey.

MJIM-lovely photos.

HM2J we had a surprise for DD and knew DS was a boy, and each was exciting. I would err on the side of a surprise if I am lucky enough to get number three though. My sister had a nuchal scan at 13weeks the other day and they asked them if they wanted to know the sex already. They resisted finding out but I think it is mad they can see from a scan so early.

HC/Ceebee, Re the Apprentice Bridstock Twonkle just about sums him up. And hum, the beret lady.

Carolyn glad your mulberry bush is having the desired effect.

Willmouse hope the crocodile and hedgehog are successful.

DS is much better now thank goodness. Just before putting DD to bed had to have a long chat about playground politics. Her best friend has decided she now has a new best friend and DD is very upset. It is really hard explaining to her that people are free to choose their own friends and there is nothing you can do about that. Told her there are plenty of other people she can play with but I felt so sorry for her, as she doesn't really get it. Her old best friend at the moment likes playing monsters/power rangers /polly pocket. DD and her other friends are currently playing 'kidernapping' and 'babies without mummies'. Cannot think why DD's old best friend has decided to play elsewhere. Not quite sure what Dr Tanya would say about their choice of game!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/03/2008 20:43

Edd is currently the 3rd November myjob and I had ds2 2 days early, so I could very well end up with an October baby. I do lurk over in October sometimes just to see what's going on with people a little further on than me, lol! Have a great time at Butlins! We are going away in June at a caravan site in the newforest, we normally go to Haven, but this is owned by Heartline (charity) and is a bargain for the week and we thought it would be nice to go somewhere a bit different. I think we go when I am 21 weeks, so after the "big" scan. Oh, and just noticed that you will be back on the firday, my scan will be that Thursday, so not too long to wait!

Majormoo, wow, that sounds like a bit of a politic talk, lol! Your poor dd though, it is difficult for them to understand really.
As for finding out, I still would really like a suprise. I guess I will have a few weeks to work on dh after our dating scan. I don't regret knowing with the boys at all, but I would also like to experience of finding out the sex for myself. Maybe this baby will be shy so we won't be able to find out. I really hope number 3 happens for you soon. It is absolutely mad that they asked your sister if she wanted to know the sex at 13 weeks, I wouldn't have thought it would be very accurate.

MJIM - apologies for getting your DS's eyes wrong but they do look brown in the photos (well that is my excuse anyway). Yes Ds has blond hair and very very dark brown eyes (about as dark as you can get) - it is an unusual combination and I really hope it stays that way but I suspect his hair is going to turn dark brown at some point as me and DH both have dark brown hair and DH was blond as a toddler. I work in HR for an emergency service - I do enjoy it most of the time but I have worked there for over 6 years now so I am very comfortable which is not always a good thing.

HC - I worked 5 days a week (full-time) when pg with DS right upto 36 weeks when high blood pressure meant I had to stop - so I figure 4 days should be ok (she says hopefully!)

Majormoo - 13 weeks - really?? Wow! Your poor DD, I bet she feels like her world has ended however I bet she has a new best friend within days.

I was telling a friend today that I was going to work an extra day - she thinks I am bonkers! She works the same 3 days as me and was telling me how much she loves her 2 days off and can't imagine why I want to give them up - the difference is she has a lovely DD who plays happily by herself, does not cause mayhem everywhere she goes etc so my friend can get on with housework, jobs etc - whereas recently I feel I have just been sat at home on my days off, not being able to do anything because DS is so demanding and feeling like I am failing miserably - so I have accepted defeat and realised that nursery can entertain him far more than me and I still get 1 day a week (plus the weekends) with him.

Anyway, off to bed now cos I am shattered - and do you know, I haven't even missed my usual half a bottle of white wine tonight

Hello everyone, glad to hear you are all well, HC have you tried OPK's with first pee? I have been in wet Wales for easter, we were nearly blown away and the sea had 30 to 40 foot waves! It has taken me a while to catch up. I am glad to hear everything is well MJIM and HM2J keeping fingers crossed. Sorry to all those who have had af. Will post better later. DS and I were ill while away and I have driven back the 51/2 hours today (DH came back on Tues for work.)

Love S x

Night ceebee-your DS sounds the same as DD1. Was and still is a demanding/screaming child as opposed to DD2 who sits and plays happily occasionally pulling on my sleeve to do something. That is why she went to nursery at 2 and DD2 won't be going until she is 3. School has her now but I dread the weekends and after school as I just can't entertain her.

Ooh soosy-nice to see you back. Hope you have dried off now. My OPKs say to wee any time between 10am and 8pm as the level increases during the day. Not using any more until next cycle as AF due in 1 week.

MJIM-when I carried DD1 it was like having a mini karate expert in there and DH and I would sit for ages watching my bump jumping about. Thought it such fun until she was born and she wouldn't stop crying and wriggling-always wanted to be on the next stage and still is. Then when I was carrying DD2 I hardly felt her move, used to prod her but still couldn't get a reaction. She is the most laid back child I have ever known. If my next baby is a kicker then I will be leaving home after the birth.

Ha, have used my new thermometer this morning and it read 36.69. My old old only would have said 36 so this has got to be more accurate?

Going to make Shepherds Pie in a mo. DD1 being her usual nightmare this weekend through tiredness. Did lots with her yesterday but it just wasn't enough and she whined will you play with me all afternoon until I sent her to bed for a nap due to continous screaming and foot banging.

Have a lovely day.

HI all.

I have survivied the party but am exhausted!

I didn't take any photos due to complete lack of time. I never sat down for four hours - that's how long everyone stayed.

I need to relax today.

carolyn1941 · 30/03/2008 14:04

Hello you guys!

willmouse - glad the party went well. Sounds like you're glad it's all over! WELL DONE!

HC - hope dd is behaving and your shepherds pie is yummy! Thermometer sounds good I reckon!

MJIM - when does the baby start moving? Like when can you see or feel it? It must be fantastic!

Majormoo - hope dd is feeling a bit happier. It must be heartbreaking when she's upset but I guess there's not a lot you can do but give her a cuddle!

Soosy - nice to see you back. Glad Wales was great (if windy!) and pleased you had a good time!

ceebee - sounds like it will work out well for you going back to work an extra day. I think if it helps keep you sane then do it! Your ds will have a great time at nursery!

HM2J - Newforest sounds great. I have only been there when I was a little girl but it was great. Seem to remember a butterfly farm?

As for me, nothing major to report here. Went shopping for a present for DP's cousin who has just had a baby boy, and was totally loving going round Mamas and Papas and cooing ove rthe little clothes! Was getting EXTREMELY broody! We bought a really cute caterpillar that goes on the pram and makes noises! Can't wait to get my cuddle anyway (have not held a baby for about 4 years!)

Have a great Sunday everyone xx

HumphreysCorner · 30/03/2008 15:31

willmouse-well done for surviving the great party. Try and have some me time today.

I am having some me time as DD2 is in her cot and DD1 is outside with DH. Was outside earlier with them sorting out the fountain in my pond so it is his turn.

carolyn-ooh, a baby boy. Don't think I would know what to do with a boy. Hope you can be buying for yourself very soon.

Chill everyone.

afternoon all. MJIM hope the cold is better. I felt DD move when I was about 17weeks but was much earlier with DS. I think it is because you know what it feels like (also my placenta was anterior with DD which makes a difference I think.) And seeing them move-I LOVED having a bath and watching DS wriggle around.

HM2J-we went camping to Sandy Balls (!) in the Newforest last year and have a fab time.

Willmouse it was obviously a good party if people stayed so long.

Carolyn-oh baby boys are so cuddly. In fact mine is driving me mad wanting yet another one. Am sure my DD was more independent in that way at 18ths.

HC hope DD1 is behaving herself.

We have been to one of those soft play centres today and kids had a great time. Hoping DS will be exhausted and sleep well after a 5.10am wake up. Am hoping the clocks changing will be good for us.

Yesterday DH invited someone for lunch that we had not seen for 13 years! He and DH lived together at uni but have not seen each other since. I moaned all morning about having to entertain him, his wife and their dog, considering I no longer knew him. In fact they were really nice and the kids loved the dog. He is now an Anglican priest, so a far cry from the student constantly playing banging techno! Years ago in the first year of uni he got us all to do a oouja board and it predicted DH and I would get married! A load of nonsense but still funny how things work out.

Bellie · 30/03/2008 21:15

Evening all - sorry to hear that you have an awful cold MJIM - hope you get better soon.

SOunds like a good party willmouse - hope you are having a good rest now!!

HC - sounds more promising with the more detailed thermometer - hope ff agrees

majormoo - sounds like you had a fun time - funny how things that you are not looking forward to often are the most fun!!

Still no luggage here and a very helpful notice on the website - saying still tracing - check back again later! Most annoyingly my fertility monitor is in the suitcase so am really going to have to do the every other night thing religiously this month! Start day 8 until 18?? does that sound about right?

Hope everyone had a good day - we had wonderful sunshine and spent all day outside - dd still not tired due to the changes in the clocks though grrr - although eventually she has now gone of to sleep!

HC, your thermometer sounds like mine, it is amazing how much difference to your chart those 2 little extra digits after the . make! I hope FF agree's.

Myjob, sorry you have a horrid cough. I hope it eases up for you soon and you don't get stuck with old fashioned honey & lemon for long.

BB, glad you had a great weekend, sounds fun. Yay for sore boobs! I will get excited for you if you don't want to !

Willmouse, well done on surviving the party, I hope you had a good rest today.

I have managed to get to my next milestone, which was to get past 8+6 with no spotting/bleeding. Only 45 minutes to go. I am feeling a little nauseous tonight, but think it is more to do with worrying about ds2's hospital appt tomorrow. I have everything crossed that he is still stable. God help his cardiologist as I am bound to cry one way or another, darn hormones! Any positive thoughts or prayers for ds2 (Jamie) much appreciated.

carolyn1941 · 31/03/2008 08:05

HM2J - for today. I will be thinking about you and ds2. Hope it all goes well and you get the news you want. I reckon it's ok to cry though(!) they must be used to emotions running high....it is your son after all and you just want him to be well. Good Luck xxx

Bellie · 31/03/2008 08:08

HM2J - thinking of you today and ds2. xx

MrsPuddleduck · 31/03/2008 09:55

HM2J - hope your appointment goes OK today. We are also off to see consultant today re DS2 - but only for reflux so nothing compared to your lo.

Sounds like everyone has enjoyed their weekends. Ds1 watched the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 3 times yesterday and he is watching it again now . I needed the rest yesterday!

Today I am tidying the three toy cupboards in our playroom (again ). I reckon it will take approximately 2 hours - all the pieces are in the wrong boxes etc.

SIL is coming at the weekend (well all four of them actually) and staying for lunch again . She offered to bring a plate of sandwiches but I declined. I can't stand her vegetarian/organic/no butter/no salt miserable attitude to child rearing and certainly don't want to sample it myself!

I have decided that I am going to put the childlocks from the kitchen cupboards on the toycupboard doors when little shit of a newphew comes. Last time he systematically emptied every last toy out over the space of his visit (hence the mess and my job today). I wouldn't care I tidied up on my own as SHE chatted away to me on the sofa on at least three occassions. She never once asked him to tidy up or stopped him [angy].

Sorry, rant over. Hope you all have a better day than I have in store LOL!
