Sorry, posted twice!

HM2J ? sending you good luck vibes for the appointment

Willmouse ? the party sounds like it was a success and I bet you are one relieved mummy today that it is all over and done with! Your SIL sounds like a real cow ? she sat there and watched you tidy up the mess her DS had done??? Saint Willmouse is back

Carolyn ? Mamas and Papas stuff is so fab isn?t it? I love the newborn baby clothes as they are different from the usual stuff. Bought my nephew a gorgeous cardigan from there (0-3 months) ? I think he had grown out of it after about 2 weeks as he is a BIG baby!!

HC ? how is the new thermometer ? are you trying it on FF yet?

My parents have just been round to visit on their way home (they have been staying with my sister for the weekend so I could eventually tell them the news ? although I think they are a bit blasé about it all now considering this baby will be their 6th grandchild! Apparently my sister had already guessed ? have no idea how but apparently it was something to do with us buying a people carrier

It is a gorgeous day here so I think I will make the most of it and take DS to the playground once he (and I) wake up from our naps. Off for a snooze right now

x

THANK-YOU ALL!!! Your good luck wishes and vibes obviously worked as Jamie is still stable and as not alot has changes in the last almost 3 years, we are allowed to have yearly appointments now!! Yay! I am absolutelty shattered, but it is very worth it. The only downside was actually getting off the lift on floor 2. Thank goodness it was only us 2 as I teared up when the doors opened, darn hormones! It is always hard going back, but hell on earth when hormonal.

Ceebee, congrats on telling the parents. I am sure my inlaws must know, but they have not said anything...yet!

Willmouse, I don't blame you on the cupboard locks, I would do the same! Grrr!

I got to do a it of mooching to pass the time before the appt, so did some window shopping and agree with Carolyn and Ceebee, M&P have some really gorgeous stuff, but with this being my 3rd and supposedly cheapest baby, I can't justify the money unless it is on clothes! There wasn't much in the gender neutral section sadly. I did manage to get a couple of cute little things from H&M, but now feel bad as I wanted to wait until the scan, but it isn't like I am in Brum often.

majormoo · 31/03/2008 18:44

really glad Jamie's appointment went well HM2J. Not surprised you were emotional, with or without the pregnancy hormones running havoc.

Willmouse your SIL sounds horrible so hope the weekend is not too bad.

Well DD and her best friend are now best friend's again! They got some nail varnish down from a shelf after school today and spilt it all over DD's carpet-so clearly back to their usual partners in crime relationship. What a difference a day makes.

Hope everyone else is well.

MrsPuddleduck · 01/04/2008 09:28

H2MJ - glad your appointment went well.

Glad you did some shopping in Brum. I only go about once a year as well (although not under such stressful circumstances) so like to make the most of it. Well done on H&M, I get really confused - aren't there about 3? I can never remember which one is best. Traditionally I go there for maternity clothes.

Hope everyone else is OK.

I only have DS1 today as DS2 is back at childminder and as I can't do any work work (iwswim) I may have a good tidy up ready for the weekend (hopefully I will only have to dust and vac on Friday then).

Angel2008 · 01/04/2008 11:42

Hi all. How is everyone?

So I have some news. My sister is currently travelling around Australia and my dad phoned me yesterday to tell me that he and my mum are going out there for 3 weeks over Xmas and New Year. Her twin brother is also going and they are paying for his flight and accomodation, and thought it was only fair that they bought me a return flight and gave me money towards our hotel aswell! My partner has been to Sydney before so we would prob head off to Thailand or Bali for New Year. It is the opportunity of a lifetime .. but guess when my due date is if I get a BFP this month, 27 December!! So we have stopped BD and will resume in a couple of months if required! At the moment I feel very conflicted, we BD on Sunday when I also had EWCM so I may get a BFP, the trouble is I really don't know whether I want one now, I am so confused!

MrsPuddleduck · 01/04/2008 12:27

Oh Angel, What a predicament!

There's not much you can do about this month now other than wait and see.

You could always check with whichever airline you will be using what their criteria for flying when pregnant is. I think it is 32 weeks on return for shorthaul. You could always start trying again in a couple of months time.

It would be a risk though, as if you had a difficult pregnancy or any complications you wouldn't want to go.

I suppose you have to decide whether or not you are willing to put of the Bding for 12 months!

Angel2008 · 01/04/2008 12:42

I know, I am now counting down the days until I can test (nothing new there), but not sure how I will feel if I get a BFP! I think I will be pleased, just twinged with a little bit of regret. I am sure it will pass! Maybe I could persuade my parents to support an "early Xmas" visit!

12 months?! Tell me that is a typo Willmouse? 2 or 3 months isn't it?

MrsPuddleduck · 01/04/2008 12:55

Sorry Angel, I meant 12 months if you didn't want to be pregnant while you were away - actually it would be more like 8 months.

I really hope that you get your BFP this month as any regret will completely disappear. However, I don't know how your parents would feel about going to Australia if you had an imminent arrival . My mother wouldn't leave the country while I was pregnant . Towards the end she used to telephone and tell me where she was going if it was further than the supermarket LOL!

I don't know how I would feel about doing a longhaul flight whilst pregnant. It will be interesting to see what everyone else thinks (my cup usually tends to be half full!).

Hi myjob.

I bought a new crib second time around (after your first you realise that cute as moses baskets are babies don't actually sleep in them!).

I managed to get some of my jobs done in the end but DS1 is driving me mad! Oh well he is back at nusery on Thursday - can't wait. I will be punching the air when he starts school in September!

It sounds as if your chicken pox are gone. I don't know what to say about the nightmares. Does he have a nightlight or does he sleep with the bedroom door open. Now I think back DS1 has always had the door open in this house and we moved here when he was 2 1/2. It's a bit of a bind though, he finally managed to wean him off having the landing light on a couple of weeks ago - we still have the hall light on. If DH turns it off by mistake and he wakes up he goes hysterical!

Bellie · 01/04/2008 14:02

Hello all,

so pleased for you about the appointment and the fact that you know only have to go every year HM2J!!

MJIM - glad to hear that the chikenpox are clearing up - but sorry about the nightmares! Not hd it with dd, but friends used to open a suitcase and ask the monsters to climb in at bedtime and then shut the suitcase and take the suitcase full of monsters away. well it worked for them

I love looking at baby stuff and although I have kept all of dd's I am sure that I will just have to buy some more when I get a bfp this time!!

Apparently suitcase will be delivered by 4.15pm today - so check back in later for the latest update!!

Angel - personally I would not be able to fly long haul if I was pg - but I am terrified of flying. In fact it is my one fear if i get pg soon - we are flying in July, but only for an hour so should be ok. It is really only a decision that you and h can make i'm afraid.

Hope eveyone else ok - back later!!

HM2J - great news about Jamie. It must be such a relief for you You can relax and enjoy your pg now!

Angel - what a dilemma. Agree that I would not want to do long-haul flying whilst pg but I am a bit of a worrier about these things. A trip to Australia does sound like a dream but I guess you have to decide if it is worth the sacrifice of putting your TTC on hold for a few months.

Bellie - can't wait to see if the suitcase turns up

Re buying new stuff - unfortunately, because of DS's illness most of the stuff like his moses basket, baby gym, bouncy chair etc got pretty much ruined due to him being sick on everything so much - no matter how much I cleaned them, it just didn't feel right to use them for a new baby so we chucked them all out - so it is new stuff for us this time. Not sure about a moses basket though as DS was only in it for a couple of months and then we had to buy a crib so we could keep him in our room longer - so we might just go straight for the crib (which we do still have) this time.

MrsPuddleduck · 01/04/2008 16:49

Hope your case turns up bellie.

Mjim - I loved our crib last time and used it for the full six months in our room - it didn't take up much space at all really. Neither of mine have ever slept in the moses basket - I even bought a second matress to make it more comfy and even that didn't work.

I can't think of what we would need unless we had a girl as most of our clothes 3 months plus are blue.

I do need a new sterilizer as although I put my old one in the loft it is pretty much worn out. I want one with a clock which counts down this time (I have an old Avent one and it seemed to take anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes ).

I bought a Phil and Teds so it would be nice to get a bit extra use out of it (although we do use it loads just as a single for DS2).

We bought a swing second time around but it is where DS2 was when he stopped breathing that time so never used it since and it went straight in the loft (although it was completely unrelated I couldn't put him in it again). I remember it was very useful though.

Ceebee - sounds as if you are going to have great fun buying everything again!

HC hasn't been around for a while - has she gone off in her caravan?

Bellie · 01/04/2008 17:04

suitcase came at 3.45!!!

Now all the washing starts that I have not had to do for the last few days!!!

majormoo · 01/04/2008 17:32

Bellie glad your suitcase has arrived.
MJIM/willmouse have only ever used a moses basket but have always wanted a crib (MIL bought us the moses basket so had to use it really) but it is now completely battered and the stand is broken so will go for a crib if there is a next time.

Angel-I think I agree with the others. Do not think I would want to risk flying long haul while pregnant. Also later on in pregnancy I just really wanted to be near home. Obviously it is up to you as a holiday to Oz and Thailand sounds fantastic. Also I suppose it depends on how old you are!! (if I was mid-twenties I might but TTC on hold for a bit, but not now I am in my mid-thirties).

Got to go and get DD from a friend's but will be back on later. Have had an odd few days because have somehow managed to have 4 BFPs (only checked because we were going to a farm over the weekend to see the lambing) but if they are real must be practically an immaculate conception. hum.

Bellie · 01/04/2008 18:00

wooooo - majormoo - you can't slip that in and then run off

carolyn1941 · 01/04/2008 18:32

majormoo - so you are pg after all? What you thought was AF must have been something else? If this is true I am overjoyed for you . Hopefully one of the others will be along soon to advise, as I know nothing of these things ...sorry

Angel - I don't want to sound flippant here, but as I see it you have 2 options. 1. You put off the ttc til after you get back. You want to start your family with no regrets and having done the things you wanted to do. Go to Oz, have a great time, and be ready to be a mummy when you return or 2. You get your bpf (hopefully soon)and take your lo to Oz to see your sister and still have a dream holiday, assuming she will still be there in say a years time? A very difficult decision, but as has been said only you and DP can decide. It would be awful though if you put off ttc and then took years to concieve after you got back, but I'm sure this has occured to you already. while you are thinking about it

Hello to everyone else

Bellie · 01/04/2008 19:10

carolyn - sounds like it might be ovulation pain - go for it!!
