Gotcha Ceebee . I started the thread, but tend to flit in and out of it, it is soooo busy (a bit like here actually, lol!)

kim27 · 20/03/2008 20:23

Hi all

Congrats Ceebee you must be over the moon.

Good luck to all those testing tomorrow hope it's BFP's all round.

I have only been ttc for just under a month and wondered what the earliest day before your AF is due you can test?

Kx

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/03/2008 20:37

I think it depends on how regular your cycles are Kim. I have 28 day cycles most months and have had BFP's at 8dpo (miscarriage), 10dpo and with this pregnancy, 12dpo. However, I can now honestly say that it is best to wait until AF is late as I feel like I have been pregnant forever already. If I had to do this again, I would wait!

Generally the consensus is 4 days before your period is due is when you can start getting reliably positive tests, but this isn't the case for everyone.

Good luck!

soosy · 20/03/2008 21:10

Hooorayyyy Ceebee so it was implantation bleed, bloody well done!

Really glad this thread is having better luck than the ivf on one I am on. We have had one pg and that ended in an early mc. Not good at all as statistically 20% of us should have got pg. BB I am afraid to say I don't think trying since Christmas is very long as well the last ivf was our 5th ivf cycle since ds was born and we had our 1st when he was 10 months (he is now 3). But i hope you feel better soon.

HC, congratulations to your daughter being such a prize winner. I had one of those days yesterday and DS practically pooed chocolate today.

Willmouse Big hug, you are so good to have SIL over. Feel free to polish your halo!

I have now realised I have missed a page of this thread so I shall post this and then read the rest, as I cannot be ar** to retype this.

carolyn1941 · 21/03/2008 08:21

morning ladies.

BFN I'm gutted

ceebee74 · 21/03/2008 08:28

Carolyn - for you but, without trying to give you false hope, it may just be too early in your cycle particularly as you haven't been off the pill that long.

OP posts:
Bellie · 21/03/2008 08:45

Carolyn, for you. It is horrible when you get a BFN. What day are you on? Do you know when you ov'd?
As ceebee says - you may not be that regular after not being off the pill for so long.

BB - I am on cycle 15 of ttc.

Hope everyone enjoys the easter weekend - despite the weather!!

carolyn1941 · 21/03/2008 09:04

Bellie and ceebee thanks so much for your kind words. Today is CD30 and last month was 31 day cycle so I guess AF will arrive Sunday (while we are in Prague the beast!)I think I ov'd on CD17 (9th March). I know I'm being pathetic though as lots of you have been trying much longer than me...sorry .

Anyway, have a great weekend eveyone - I'm off to the airport now...going to enjoy lots of wine I think! See you Tuesday

Good Luck Angel - hope it's a BFP!

Bellie · 21/03/2008 09:20

carolyn you are not being pathetic - ttc is stressful and obvioulsy something that we all want really badly - you are perfectly normal and entitled to feel gutted when you get a BFN.

Try and keep positive and look forward to your weekend in Prague - and then the fun begins again when you get back.

I am usually a 31 day cycle which is bang in the middle of our trip to Budapest, but I ovulated really early this month 12/13 so I guess I would expect af to come earlier wouldn't I? Maybe I will test before I go to see if I can drink copious amounts of wine or not??

HumphreysCorner · 21/03/2008 09:37

Hey carolyn-I came off the pill at the beginning of December and to say that AF has been erratic is the understatement of the year! I am truly sorry for you BFN (have been there too many times to mention). Enjoy your break away.

ceebee-I dreampt about you last night. In my dream I tested and got a BFP (mixture of your news and weeing on my OV sticks). Thing is I had just taken over the running of a pub and it also meant a December baby and I was so upset about it and tried to get in touch with you but couldn't then I woke up. When I was testing all this discharge and some bizarre stuff that looked like sick all came out. So weird.

Is Angel there? Are you testing?

Have a lovely Good Friday ladies.

Hi everybody,

Wow, it feels so good to be on holiday!! My school is one of the schools which is taking early holidays, so I have 2 whole weeks off now! Yippeee! I will be very however, when I am going back to school on 7th April and loads of other schools around the country are just starting their holidays!!! For now though I am appreciating every second. Today is going to be a lovely relaxing day!

Ceebee, I am so pleased for you. What a great end to a weird couple of weeks for you. Can't wait to see you on the November thread, I don't know people very well over there, so it will be nice to have a familiar name there!! This thread has had a good success rate so far for November plus of course mjim in October, this is a lucky thread. I'm sure there will be more BFPs in the next few months from this thread!!

Carolyn, sorry about the BFN. I know it feels horrible, and it can get you down for a few days. Good job that you're having a holiday, so you can have lots of fun and then come back ready to start the next cycle. But, like ceebee says, you just never know what's going on, so until AF arrives, nothing is certain!

I had my first night out last night since finding out I was pg (a work night out). It wasn't particularly enjoyable. Firstly, everyone was wanting to know why I had driven, as I wouldn't usually drive. The reason I gave them was that my parents were coming today, so I didn't want to greet them with a hangover, but some people didn't seem happy with that, and told me I should have left the car at home and that I was being over the top not drinking!! I get really annoyed when people get so obsessed with other people drinking. To be honest, I'm not a big drinker anyway, and some of my friends seem to have a big problem with that, always wanting to know why I'm not drinking, telling me I should just get drunk as I'll have a better night! It makes me so mad!! I'm supposed to be going out on Tuesday as well, with some of the same people, but to be honest I think I'm going to pull out, I can't be bothered with all the questions.

God, sorry to have ranted about that so much!! Think I have woken up in a bad mood this morning and needed to vent my anger!! It's all out of my system now, I promise.

Here's wishing everyone a very happy Easter, hope you all enjoy your Easter eggs - Sunday will bve my first chocolate for 7 weeks, I can't wait!!

Bellie · 21/03/2008 20:01

Hi - has anyone heard from Angel?

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday - dd has spent the day as a cat as she had her facepainted this morning!

Going to sit down with a glass of wine now and catch up on American Idol!

Angel2008 · 22/03/2008 12:03

Hi guys

Just checking in. Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter. I normally log in from work (told the girl who sits next to me now!) -hence why I haven't been around for a few days.

Ceebee - my WARMEST congrats, am very happy for you, it must be such a special time for you!

Carolyn - sorry about your BFN. I got my period this morning and am gutted as well. DP reckons he was so tired and stressed last month it could have had an effect on his sperm?! But I am wondering if it might be due to our ages (I am 31 and he is 35) or the other thing is an operation I had when I was 16 (hope you know what I mean ). I do worry about these things as I know there is nothing wrong with either me or DP fertility-wise (he has also been in this situation before with an old girlfriend).

Anyway, I am trying to concrentrate on the positives - no chance of a December baby (dubious positive!), and I have had a few re-lapses in terms of my health this month (had about 4 ciggies in very stressful times and a couple of arguments with DP when I got very very , both of which I know are very bad for a baby!).

It seems I have a very short cycle (I guess this is good - less time to wait until my next result!). Can someone tell my how to enter my dates on FF? I have only registered so far - still trying to work out how it works.

This month I think we will try BD every other night again and also buy an OV kit. The only thing I don't understand with these is that I thought you were fertile for up to 5 days before you ovulated? So won't it be a bit late by then?

Will be back on line Tuesday, if not before, lots of love and chocolate to everyone in the meantime. Sorry if this is a bit of a depressing post or tmi for some (hope no-one thinks differently of me now!)

ceebee74 · 22/03/2008 13:18

Angel ? sorry AF arrived for you Of course I don?t think any worse of you, everyone does what is best at the time and I am sure everything is in full working order for you. Don?t worry about your ages either ? when we conceived DS, I was 31 and DH was 33, this time I am 33 and DH is 35. Hope you manage to enjoy Easter and I always find chocolate is a great healer

Carolyn ? I know you won?t read this but hope you are having a fantastic time in Prague ? can?t wait to here all about it when you get back.

HC ? that dream does sound very very weird ? had you been hitting the Blossom Hill hard the night before?

Juanitad ? I think it is just part of our culture that people expect you to drink. I am quite fortunate in that we don?t have a social life since DS arrived so no-one will notice that I am not partaking although DH had to subtly remind me yesterday at my parents that I had to eat the well-done bits of the beef joint my mum had cooked rather than my usual pink bits (we are not telling RL people yet as it is such early days and although I would like to tell my parents, if we did that, we would have to tell MIL and she would blab it to everyone single person she knows so we can?t ).

As for the Nov 2008 thread I shall be on there by the end of next week although I have had a quick look and there are tons and tons of people on there ? is that normal for an ante-natal thread???

Been to the gym this morning but am currently trying to work out how to slightly lower the intensity of my workouts without people knowing (I go to classes where everyone knows each other and I usually stand at the front so if I stop jumping around, it would be really obvious) ? today I just did it normally but with less effort than I normally do.

Hope you all have a good day

x

Angel - doory to hear about Af - no I don't think any worse of you - it was a long time ago and was obvioulsy the right decision at the time for you. There is no need to panic about everyhting in working order yet - and your ages are fine - dh and I were both 31 when we had dd. Enjoy some wine and choccie this weekend.

Ceebee - it may be worth mentioning to your class instructor (on the quiet) that you may need to slow down your workouts?? I am sure that you do not have to stop but worth having a chat with her? I remember not being able to tell people that I was pregnant for ages it was killing me - my MIL is the same so we didn't tell her till after the 12 week scan, but I told my mum - she held my hand when I had an early scan as I had a bleed and dh was in Australia!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the break - is it snowing where you are - we have had flurries and it is freezing, but not enough to build a snowman yet!! (fingers crossed!)

HumphreysCorner · 22/03/2008 14:13

Angel-sorry to hear the witch has arrived. Hey, we do not judge on here so no worries there. Also, I am 38 pushing 39 and DH is 37 pushing 38 and we are going for it very soon.

ceebee-I think the best time is when you know that you are PG and nobody else does, such a special time. Then the sickness kicks in and I have to confess. This time I need to keep it as quiet as poss as I know my mum will disown me.

Have a fun, chocolate filled weekend. Feeling sick already due to the vast amount of choc consumed so far.

Angel, sorry about AF, but I'm sure it will happen for you soon - it's very early days. I'm a similar age to you - will be 31 this year, and DH is 40!!!! So I don't think age is probably too much of a factor, I think it will just take a little bit of time. I read that only 20% of couples conceive in their first month of trying, while 60% conceive within 6 months and 80% within a year. I think you said this was your first month TTC, so don't worry that it hasn't happened yet. And don't worry about stuff from your past, you made the right decision at the time for you, your life would have been turned upside down otherwise, and no one has the right to judge you for that decision.

Ceebee, I had another night out last night (I usually don't have much of a social life, but suddenly everyone seems to be leaving work/having birthdays/coming home from Spain/some other excuse for a night out! So my excuse this time was that I'd been out the night before and been really drunk and was still hungover, therefore couldn't touch alcohol!! I am feeling less stressed today about having to answer drinking questions! But it will be nice when the danger stage is over and I can tell all and sundry, and then there will be no more awkward questions to answer! I know what you mean about the Nov thread, it's mega! I decided to read all the posts on it one day, it took me over 2 hours!! I still feel like I don't know people too well there, but am trying to join in and get to know people!! Looking forward to seeing you there next week.

Hope everyone else is well and surviving this weird weather! We have had snowstorms, hail, gale force wind and pelting rain here. It certainly doesn't feel like spring has sprung!!

Love to all and Happy Easter
xxx

mjim, wish I had taken your advice not to eat too much chocolate. As I gave it up for Lent, I thought I would make up for 7 weeks of no chocolate by eating nearly all my Easter egg in one go. Not a good idea....

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/03/2008 20:01

Angel, I'm sorry to hear the witch arrived. Like the others have said, don't get too down, it's early days for you yet.

I hope everyone had a good day today and aren't feeling too sick from too much choccy. No worries for me, choccy is one of the things that I tend to go off and this time is not really any exception. I had a creme egg that ds1 gave me while the Grand Prix was on and that is it. I have just polished off a bowl of weetabix though, yummy!

Tomorrow is 8 weeks for me, undoubtedly will be a week full of stress. I need to get past 8+6 with no spotting. It was when I started spotting with my miscarriage and has always been the goal I was aiming for this time. At least dh is off work this week which should pass the time more quickly and if I am really lucky, I may hear from either my midwife or the hospital with a scan date. Right, best go, looking at the screen isn't helping my heacache!

HumphreysCorner · 23/03/2008 20:02

I never want to see any more chocolate!

Happy Easter girls!

Hm2J - will be thinking of you this week -(not going to be around much as away) - will check in when I get back and hope that everything is still ok.

Iam feeling like I am about to come on any minute, but nothing at the moment. Am on day 27 - cycle usually 30/31 but I ov'd really early so I guess my cycle will be shorter. Will have to wait and see - trying desperately not to test.......

DD stuffed all the chocolate around today so I didn't even get a look in - which is probably just as well!
