Ladies - you may now continue the chatting

Juanitad - I remember that feeling well of how everything has changed for you but life carries on as normal. I managed to hide it from my colleagues until we had the 12-week scan despite feeling like absolute crap most days (sickness and exhaustion), completely changing my eating habits whilst at work - and not one person guessed! Are you definitely going to wait until 12 weeks to tell or not? What about your family?

OP posts:
majormoo · 17/03/2008 18:29

Juanitad-I think there is something lovely about having your secret and all the possibilities that brings, before everyone knows.

Good luck for Friday Angel/Carolyn/Ceebee

HM2J hope your DS is feeling OK now
MJIM-25th isn't that long to wait at all. How exciting.

Bellie · 17/03/2008 19:19

Juanitad - the secret is a fab one to keep isn't it!!

Fingers crossed for thsoe that are tessting on Friday xx

Nothing to report here today - dd is being her usual monkey self and winging lots - I think she is tired. Her nursery is attached to a school so she has the holidays - I think she needs them to recharge!!

Is ds better HM2J? I hate it when you can't help.

I hope that it is not chickenpox MJIM - not what you need in the early stages when you are tired as well. Although if he is going to go back to having some naps you must take advantage!!

HC - is the internet working again??

BB, hope you manage to get some energy to start again this month

Have you foun a house yet soozy?

soosy · 17/03/2008 19:41

No Bellie no house, I have seen a couple i like, one a complete dump, needs loads (and I mean loads) of work and the other was a really nice layout, but top of our budget. Sadly both are under offer, one has been under offer for ages (the dump) by a developer and it seems they can't thrash out a deal (the developer wants to pay for the house, after he has done the work? (Have cake and eat it and make trifle come to mind)). So I am hoping it may come back on the market, i have told the agent we are interested and she said she'd ring the owner but we'll see. Trying not to get excited at this point.

Testing on Friday, Good to hear you are thinking about it ceebee. Did LOL about DS and trousers, my DS does exactly the same and then rolls on his back and shows me his bottom!

Chickenpox, tried to get DS to get it, told him to kiss another boy who had it, he did and didn't get it.

MJIM, Can't believe its almost 12 weeks!

HM2J hope ds better

juanitad · 17/03/2008 19:52

Ceebee, will do my best not to tell people before 12 weeks, apart from family. Told my mum (and dad) almost as soon as I got the BFP - my mum knew that we were trying and has always known how much I've wanted kids. I can't keep anything secret from her, and generally don't want to! We've also told DH's mum and dad and intend to tell my bro and SIL this weekend. It will be hard for them to hear the news I think as they have found out that it will be very difficult for them to conceive. They are currently getting the ball rolling for IVF - their first attempt will be in June I think, but I know that for them the news will be bitter-sweet. My brother will love being an uncle (and will be a great one), but I guess the news might make him wonder when it will be his turn to be a parent.

Didn't realise you were testing on Friday as well soosy, it's going to be an exciting day. Keeping everything crossed for you!

carolyn1941 · 17/03/2008 20:30

ooooo goody - soosy so glad you will test on Friday! (that could be 4 of us you know so statistically speaking...well you know what I'm saying!!!!)..fingers crossed

HumphreysCorner · 17/03/2008 21:14

Internet much improved thank goodness-just got back from WW and lost 3.5 of the 4 lb I put on so only 1/2 above target. Phewee!

juanitad-I remember having to pick my next years summer hols and thinking what's the point as I won't be here anyway. So excited for you.

Good luck to all you Friday testers. Could it be that I will be TTC on my own? I could call the new thread 'TTC with HC'

Right-need to go and egg hunt on Facebook.

Love to all

HC

MrsPuddleduck · 18/03/2008 09:28

Morning all and I am sending positive vibes to all testers! There are loads of you!

Ceebee - sorry AF hasn't arrived yet - I am sending you supportive vibes - my 38 day cycle was hell on earth. The not knowing kills you.

Soosy - hope you find a house you like. Living in Winsdor sounds lovely. My Aunt and Uncle live in Hampton - I am very jealous (living in the boring Midlands as I do).

Question for the cat people around here - when the summer comes I am hoping that I will finally be able to use the patio door from the lounge into the garden to let the boys run in and out (it didn't really happen last year due to rain and the fact that DS2 was only little and it was a pita man to man marking him). Is the kitten going to run out of the house and then run off? If I am going to spend the summer trying to keep it in I may think again.

well Friday should be interesting!

Hope you feel better later MJIM

HC I will still be around with you as pretty much having a month off this month (as in none of this BD every other night malarky). MJIM I am OK thanks. Usually I would be in the 2WW by now but can tell things are a bit odd this month. I think it can take about six weeks to have a period after miscarriage, so will be mid -April before we are back to normal activities

Anything good planned for Easter everyone?

MrsPuddleduck · 18/03/2008 09:57

Morning Myjob and Majormoo.

MJIM - hope you are feeling a bit better after breakfast.

Majormoo - I will also be here for some time with HC. We are taking at least a month off.

Bellie · 18/03/2008 10:12

Morning - I know what you mean MJIM - we are all so chatty it moves on so fast it is hard to keep up! Still at least we have an outlet for everything.

HC - are you on maintenance then to keep you at goal? Can't remember how it works once you get there!! Well done for losing the weight again though. (I am weighing again tomorrow but had a huge TGI Fridays burger and fries at the weekend )

We are off to Budapest next week - so not exactly Easter but close!! DD is having a holiday with grandparents so me and dh get some 'us' time. It could be celebration or drowning sorrows again - Af due when we are out there EEK!!

Ceebee - still awol af??

DD doesn't yet take her trousers off - but loves showing her 'builders bum' as her trousers are still falling down continuously! Hopefully it will be a warm summer and she can wear her dresses with no tights as tights are a major problem for the toilet!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

HumphreysCorner · 18/03/2008 11:32

Morning ladies

Here is the Mini Garden Changing the pond by painting the cut off water bottle brown to stop the reflection. Hope it doesn't wilt before Thursday. Took me 2 hours and I'm glad it's done as it is pouring with rain now.

willmouse-you really don't need to keep your cat in after his jabs and he will have his jabs immediately you get him.

Bellie-I am trying to maintain my weight and am having the same problem I did when I was last at goal 10 years ago. The booklet says I should have an addition 6 points to maintain which would be 23 but if I eat more than 18 a day I gain so sticking with 17 and if I do indulge every now and again it shouldn't matter too much. Enjoy Budapest and if AF dares to come on hols with you then drown her in alcohol!

I don't know if to start TTC after April's AF which could possible mean a January baby or wait until after May's to that it will be Feb onwards. I usually give birth early (only up to a week) but that would be so close to Christmas again. Decisions, decisions. I mean, I know it won't happen straight away as am sticking to the OV day but then again, it might. Am so dreading the MS though and we are looking to get lots of use out of the caravan and me in the early stages of pregnancy with a toddler and a v. difficult 5 year old won't be any fun. Poor DH as well cleaning out the toilet. Ew! MJIM-have so much sympathy for you. Try and drinks litres of water-I never could hence the banging headache.

Oh, am waffling now. Glad all PG ladies are sticking around.

ceebee-how many days later are you? The most I have been is 9 days which was day 37.

Better go-hi to anyone I've missed.

Mjim, I think I am going to have to start following your example of making notes as I read as I now can't remember what anyone said. Oh well, at least I am here and offering support to everyone, where ever they are in thier cycle.

HC, the mini garden looks wonderful, well done you! As for when to TTC, I am impatient and woudl start earlier, but it really is a very personal choice. I hope you can come to some conclusion soon.

Bellie, have a lovely trip, sounds wonderful!

Oh and ds2 is much better everyone, thanks for asking!

MrsPuddleduck · 18/03/2008 12:21

Great mini garden HC - did your DS make it or you? LOL!

I have just bought my Easter egg stock from Home Bargain - managed to get 10 plus a barbie for a birthday party for £13 - bargain!

HumphreysCorner · 18/03/2008 12:27

willmouse-it is completely obvious that DD1 didn't make it and she finds herself unable to lie at the appropriate time so can't even persuade her to tell the teacher she helped. She lies most of the time but not when it is crucial so she won't win anything sadly.

Right, off to wee on a stick.

MJIM ? you have the most amazing stamina! When I was in my early pg days with DS, I was always in bed by 9 (10 at the very latest) ? friends or no friends!

HC ? have a feeling I will still be here with you! After this mammoth cycle, I think it will take a while for things to get back to normal. The mini-garden looks lovely ? I am sure you will not be the only parent who has done it!

Bellie ? ooh Budapest ? how lovely I still can?t get to grips with DS staying at my parents (even though they offer all the time) which I know I really need to get over

Willmouse ? I know you understand about long cycles ? it is the not knowing that is the worst thing.

Now on CD36 and still no sign ? I have one pg test left so I am determined to wait until Friday (which would be 7 days after my mini-bleed so if that was an implantation bleed then 7 days should be enough). My backache has still not gone away ? this is the 5th day of it now ? although it is getting a little better. Am starting to worry that it is a symptom of something else like an ectopic pg (don?t ask me why ? I think I am paranoid).

Once DS wakes from his nap, I am going to walk down to the village hairdressers and see if they can fit him in ? aaaagghhh! It feels like such a big decision as he has never had a haircut before but I am getting really fed up of him constantly mistaken for a girl and he hates having it brushed after bathtime so I think the time has come ? is it ok that I am a little about it as it seems the last part of ?babyhood? for him.

X

(A little tip about replying to everyone that I pinched off my post-natal thread ? have a word document open in the corner and you can flick between MN and Word really easily and type your post and then just copy and paste it ? also helps if the Internet crashes halfway though etc).

hello ladies

HC - the mini garden is excellent! I'm very impressed. I can't wait to do all this kind of stuff with my own DC. I realise it's prob very time consuming and a pita but it might be a bit fun aswell? and nice to do stuff together?...can you tell I am a hopeless idealist!?

ceebee - hope the dreaded haircut went ok! I know my sisters kids are such a mightmare at the hairdressers so you have my symapthy!

MJIM - glad you are feeling a bit better\

I'll try to catch up with everyone else later!....my hamster has escaped! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Bellie · 18/03/2008 16:51

How did the haircut go ceebee? I found the first one heart-renching even though dd sat still and loved it! Did they let you keep some of the hair?

HC- brillian garden - puts dh's dd's effort to shame! Made worse by the fact that the primoses they planted last week have now finished flowering!

Willmouse - that is a lot of chocolate for £13 I am impressed!

Hope you find the hamster carolyn!!

Wave to everyone else !!

MrsPuddleduck · 18/03/2008 17:46

Hi all.

Carolyn - hope you find your hamster! Mine escaped once when I was little and I remember Dad had to move the fridge to get it out! One night it also spun its wheel so fast the cage vibrated its way off the highly polished table it was kept on and it ended up side down on the living room floor. Needless to say the hamster made himself a lovely axminster nest! My Mum hated the thing! It didn't live very long as I remember (was called Penny).

I am feeling very smug about my chocolate purchases. They had the tins with eggs in 4 for £5 so I bought 2 power rangers ones for Ds1 and Nephew, a disney pricess one for my Niece, and a roary the racing car one for DS2. They also had packs with 15 cadbury cream egg sized eggs of different varieties for £1.50 so I bought one each for my cousins (aged 21 and 14) and one each for Ds's to hide around the garden and do an egg hunt with. That's me done for Easter. Only I did consider buying DS1 a bike from the Easter Bunny but think it a bit too extravagant (he is due a bike this summer so I am still considering it as an option)- plus I will have to buy one for DS2 as well (or an equivalent) and things will get out of hand . Sound familiar to anyone . My New Years resolution to not spoil them this year was going very well until now! .

carolyn1941 · 18/03/2008 18:01

willmouse - LOL at buying a bike instead of easter egg! Lucky kid! and yes I found the hamster (Einstein!!) and he is safely back in his cage!He had ventured upsatirs!

The Christian Club meets in my room at school every week. Today they bought me an easter egg and invited me to their easter service. How lovely! They are really sweet people. It made my day anyway! It might save DP buying me one ha ha!

I'm getting a bit nervous about Friday now. I don't really expect to be pg and I know it might take a while but I'd REALLY REALLY love it to be a BFP!We did loads of BDing at all the right times so at least feel we have "tried our best". Am trying to wait patiently but it's killing me! [grrr]
Must wait til Friday though as DP and I are both off work so can do test together (clearly not the peeing on stick bit!)

majormoo · 18/03/2008 18:48

hope Friday goes well Carolyn.
Great garden HC
Oh Bellie a whole weekend off in Budapest. I am so jealous.
Ceebee-aaah the first hair cut is a bit of a milestone. Still have not cut DS's hair (he is 17 months) but as I have mentioned before, all the boys seem to have long hair round here anyway. Hope your test brings a BFP on Friday too.

I bought a really expensive ovulation testing kit thing today as decided to try to figure out what is happening with my cycle. Honestly why do I do these things. £22! I am mad. I generally advise people not to even use the blinking things.

HumphreysCorner · 18/03/2008 19:32

Have just watched the last episode of Lost. Sayid is offically gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now waiting for Holby so I can drool over Michael Spencer.
