Morning all,

I'd love to meet up with you all but am up north!

tinker A forehead thermometer is no good for temping I'm afraid, it isn't precise enough. You need a basel body thermometer which will calculate your temp to two decimal places. I got mine off ebaby, it says 'babymad' on it.

ei What an irritating dr! Honestly I could wax lyrical about my experiences with crap drs who treat you like a fool. Make a new appointment with your usual Dr (who looks like father christmas I think you said before!) and take along some print outs from the internet and your temp charts. Hope you get it sorted, surely a thyroid test isn't too much to ask!!

SH Hope you are taking it easy. It must be hard not to fear the worst but DG had lots of trouble with her bean in the beginning and all is fine now.

DG Hello! Nice to see you. I hope to have some of my luck brush off on me this time!

MOB It can take a while for the EWCM to dry up I think. Do you know how long your LP is?

P&M Glad to hear your DH is feeling broody and wanting to get himself checked.

GG Any sign of AF yet? I'm willing you to get a BFP.

Hurray for the start of bd'ing in the Jollybear household! . I have no fertile CM at all but high ho!!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 28/03/2008 10:57

morning ladies
scary sorry you are having bother with the bean but good luck for the docs today and i have my fingers crossed for you
JB where about 'up north' are you? i want to meet up but with me being in the north west it is not too easy to arrange to pop to a cafe to meet up (unless you all come to me)
MOB if you have still got EWCM get BDing just in case what CD are you on?
a big hello to everyone else

Bucky2008 · 28/03/2008 12:40

Hello, just checking in.

Scary , please let us know how it goes at the doctor....

MOB Don't be silly, glamourous, moi? Hmm tell that to my DP who last night said 'Bucky can you wash your hair please it smells, so I don't want to hug you' . Blardy hair, it takes to long to dry it I have to get up at 5am or do it as soon as I get in from work!!

Get to it JB This could be your month.

Bucky waves to MrsEi, DG, GG, PnM and the rest of the gang.

If you are genuinely interested in meeting up, please email me at [email protected] and I will sort something out for us all. It will probably have to be on a Saturday/Sunday given everyone's logistics.

mibbes · 28/03/2008 13:09

Hi DG thanks for popping in - great to hear digibean is doing well
Bucky hurray for DP making appt and at smelly hair LOL !
hatty was it a romantic night ? Did you have your internal yet ?... hmm those 2 questions are totally unconnected !
PnM fab news having such a proactive DH - I reckon he is a rare specimen though !
Scary I really hope all is well hun xx{{{big hugs}}}
tinkerbell JB is right you really need a thermometer that goes to 2 dec places. Oh you got one - hurray !
JB it is definitely your turn for some luck - sending you baby dust Also, how far North are you, maybe you'd qualify for the Scotland meet-up, so far just Fairy and I (and we lives hundreds of miles apart !) Am so of London meet-up.

JollyBear · 28/03/2008 13:17

Thanks mibbes! I'm north west based same as ei, we could have a Scotland and the North meet up but we'd all have to travel a fair way I should think!

tinker Glad you got the thermometer sorted. Temping is great .

LOL at your hair bucky!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 28/03/2008 13:24

I'm near Manchester so don't think we'll have met before. I really hope no one I know in RL has recognised me on here!! I don't want anyone to know we're TTC, never mind some of the other things we discuss on here, CM, cervical pursuits etc!!

It wouldn't be too hard for us to meet up ei, we should pencil something in for the summer by which time (fingers crossed!!) we'll be able to compare bumps. I'm in a very positive mood today, can anyone tell?!!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 28/03/2008 13:38

that would be lovely JB alot of the liverpool meet ups are near the m57 motorway link so it would be really easy for you to access aswell i go shopping to picadilly in manchester every few weeks with my friends and DD so we could meet in manchester even how great would it be us meeting to 'compare bumps' i have already got a choccy induced one so mine would be enormous anyway

hello there - just checking in to say hello.

DH got his results back and they are "the same as last time" according to the wonderfully helpful (erm...not) receptionist. It's what we had both assumed and I am so and disappointed.

DH and I had a BIG chat this morning. I was and that he hasn't done anything about looking up information on low sperm counts and advice on the net and I was so frustrated. When DH's dad was diagnosed with a heart condition he printed off loads of articles and research papers and read them all! My DH never does anything without "doing his research" and he has done none on his low sperm count or what he should be asking the doctors. I got so that he wasn't taking me seriously and thought the information that i had found is "a load of old wives tales". Anyway, I really spelled out what I needed from him and how his attitude towards us TTC stinks - it cleared the air and I think he was shocked by how serious I was. His lack of effort, support or interest in what was a serious issue for our relationship really upset me for a while.

tinkerbell2 · 28/03/2008 15:14

so sorry gg about results and dh attitude
here are some smiles to cheer you up

Madoldbird · 28/03/2008 15:33

Back from boring meetings - bring on the weekend!

scary I really hope things go ok for you - do let us know when you feel able. I'm sure it's all just the bean settling in. Thinking of you. XX

GG Oh, no, was so hoping for better news for you. I am pleased though that you've been able to tell DH how you are feeling, and the importance of it. I hope he takes it all on board. There really is such a lot he can do to improve things - supplements / nutrition, etc, and it's definitely not all old wives tales. And let's face it, HE has to do all this stuff. Hopefully he will now be a bit more pro-active. Don't be too disheartened about the results - i seem to remember it takes about 100 days to make a sperm from start to finish, so any changes he makes will take about 3 months to "show" in test results. The two tests he's had will be looking at a good proportion of sperm made at the same time (does that make sense? I'm not sure!) Did you discuss seeking a private opinion?

Bucky i will definitely email you about the meet up, once i pluck up the courage to get out of this anonymous, virtual comfort zone that is MN!!

Mibbes sorry, in my rush this morning i forgot to ask how you are? Hope miblet is behaving!

JollyBear · 28/03/2008 16:01

GG So sorry the results weren't any better but as MOB said it takes 3 months to make the stuff so two tests close together are likely to say pretty much the same thing. I remember from last time you said the mobility is good so that gives you something work with, one strong swimmer and you are there. I hope you manage to get him to at least look at the things that can be done to help this weekend.

ei Sounds good to me!

Have a good weekend everyone

GryffinGirl · 28/03/2008 16:07

MOB - hurrah you are around for a London and the SE meet up!!! .

scary - in all my selfish rantings I have been a bad friend and not responded to you. Are you ok? You hang in there, m'dear. Everything crossed for you and scary bean. Please let us know what is happening. Thinking of you

tinkerbell - ahhhh, thanks for the smiles, hun . They have made me smile too.

DH and I did discuss going private, but he is against it. A "waste of money" apparently, so he was effectively saying "I don't think it's worth paying for" and that's when I completely flipped .

I don't need to tell you ladies how that made me!!!!I looked like this! That little gem of a quip from DH is what started off this morning's "discussion". Of course going private is expensive, but we are very lucky to have two good City salaries coming in and paying for private treatment is not an issue for us (I hope that comment didn't come across badly and YKWIM )

Anyway, I got a lot of things off my chest and the air is completely clear now. DH has been lovely since and has apologised for being indifferent and insensitive. So, I like him again and will increase that to "love him" when he buys some suitably groveling flowers

hello to bucky mibbes mrsei and everyone else on the thread. DG too if you are lurking

GryffinGirl · 28/03/2008 16:09

jolly - how could I have forgotten to mention you??!! . Any news with you today?

I think I will sit DH in front of the PC this weekend and make him trawl the net and MN for "swimmers needing zimmers" advice. I think he will do it too now he is being so grovelly

JollyBear · 28/03/2008 16:24

That's alright GG! CD 8 so nothing exciting going on here!

I'm glad your DH is going to make it up to you. Perhaps some research on NHS waiting times will encourage him to go private. Loved the picture by the way .

ScaryHairy · 28/03/2008 16:30

Hi

Just checking in briefly.
I had a scan - they couldn't see anything, but that doesn't mean a lot - and a blood test which shows HCG levels of 340. They will repeat the bloods on Sunday to see if my HCG is going up or down.

So we're kind of in limbo. I think a bean may have been trying to implant very late after ovulation - maybe even after my bleed started - and now either it is still trying or I have leftover hormones in my body. Let's hope it is the former, but apparently my uterine lining is pretty thin for a pregnancy, so who knows. It's wait-and-see time.

GG now you've told your DH what's what maybe he will get to it a bit. Re vitamins, Zita West does some for men which are supposed to be ood and contain things which are supposedly good for the swimmers, so he could get some of those. My DH calls them his "manvits".

Glad you're feeling positive JB.

Hi to everyone, tinkerbell, MOB, DG< Ei, Bucky (who I am sure smells very nice) and everyone else.

GryffinGirl · 28/03/2008 16:35

Scary - I am so sorry that the scan wasn't more conclusive. You poor thing what with more waiting. Everything crossed for you. I hope your DH is ok too and he's looking after you properly? Please take it easy and thank you for posting because I was worried about you. Big ((((((hugs))))) to you.

jolly - I don't look like that old battleaxe in the picture in RL! Honest

tinkerbell2 · 28/03/2008 17:35

hi scary sorry that you didnt find out too much hopefully you will soon
gg glad that dh is seeing sense

mibbes · 28/03/2008 17:43

Scary am so sorry your scan didn't bring the news we were hoping for, fingers crossed for positive news on Sunday xxxx

GG despite your DH's disappointing results it sounds very much like you are relieved to have cleared the air and finally got your feelings across to him. Hopefully he will be more proactive in looking for resolutions.I remember watching a TV documentary about a man with very low sperm count (or motility, not sure exactly) but basically the couple couldn't concieve. They changed his diet and gave him vits and after several months they had BFP ! Before xmas I started leaving bowls of nuts in the kitchen (esp brazils) and DP scoffed a handful every time he came into the kitchen, now that was 3 months ago so who knows maybe that was a contributing factor...

Hi to Ei, Bucky, MOB, PnM, Fairy, JB, tinkerbell

I am very well thanks for asking MOB. Felt a bit sick this morning and wretched several times . DP is being lovely and giving me random hugs all the time ! For someone who wasn't that bothered and just 'seeing what happens' he is very excited !

ScaryHairy · 28/03/2008 18:00

That's lovely Mibbes (not the sick, but that your DP is being so good).

I am trying to be philosophical. Barring some bizarre miracle involving late implantation this one is probably not sticky. But this is the first time have been pregnant this time of TTC, so at least I know it can be done. If it's not going to happen I just want my body to get over it so I can have another go.

Bucky2008 · 28/03/2008 21:08

GG I see from the photo you have changed your hairstyle! I almost didn't recognise you.....hahahahahahahahaha Just kidding.... LOLFOF.... Hmm, sorry about the results, I was hoping it was a big mistake and things would be better but glad you had it out with DH. Men just don't know how lucky they are to have us. Hopefully he will behave now!

Scary > I know exactly how you feel and its horrible . I am very impressed by your sensible and positive outlook, I just sat on the sofa blubbing for two days . Thanks for letting us know how you got on, you know that you can be as happy or as sad as you need to be on here and we will all be here to give you virtual smiles and hugs.

Mibbes How exciting, if wretching can be exciting . Bless your DH, its really sweet. This is your first too isn't it so it must be so mindblowing!

MOB Yay, I do hope you come and meet us. . Be brave, we all had the same reservations but it was like we already knew each other when we met, not weird at all.

Jolly How are you doing today? Has the BDathon commenced .

Ei Please may I be in your dream soon? . I would like a baby.

Hope everyone else is having a better day than I have had and a fab Friday night.

Buckyx

Bucky2008 · 28/03/2008 21:12

Oh and NEWSFLASH...I am going to go and wash my hair now . Even the builder was staring at my hair the whole time he was talking to me this evening, so I think it is time....or it could have been all the Angel perfume I sprayed in it mixed with the stinky smell was off putting.... I do wash the rest of me...honest!
