ah shakey sorry to hear of your DPs bad news one of our lovely ladies griffingirl has just had this same type of news so she would be good on advice i think, i am considerin gettin my DH a home sperm test as he out right refuses to see a GP over anything so it would be very hard for me to get him to get tests done.
xx ei xx

JollyBear · 18/03/2008 16:22

Sorry to hear that shakey . GG started a thread about her DH's results and she got some really good advice and positive stories. You could try searching for it - I'd try and find it but I've got to rush off, sorry.

ShakeysGirl · 18/03/2008 16:26

Men can be sensitive about this sort of stuff. We know its due to the operations he had as child (one testicle removed and lots of scar tissue making ejaculation difficult) so he struggles to let doctors anywhere near his man bits as he clearly remembers the pain he went through. Can't say i blame him.

GryffinGirl · 18/03/2008 16:36

Shakeysgirl - I am so sorry to hear your news and about your DH . he must have had more than enough of doctors.

My DH recently had a similar outcome from a sperm test, although he hasn't had any medical history which would point to a problem. He has a "severly low" sperm count. I know that conditions like undescended testicles can have an adverse effect on sperm counts, but do you know the results in detail? Motility, volume, morphology and concentration plus other factors are looked at and they all have a bearing, not just the count. Did your GP offer advice or analysis?

I don't know what your circumstances are, but there are a few of us on the "TTC #1 since forever" thread who have DH's and DP's with a similar condition. You are very welcome there and if you have seen my thread (which contains a link to an earlier thread) there is some excellent advice on there.

Thinking of you

hello to Eei* jolly hatty mibbes and everyone else, old and new. Sorry I haven't posted here on the 2WW for a while. I have sort of given up symptom spotting since my DH's results although I am at CD19 today, so it is about time I got looking

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 20:21

Hi everyone, Mibbes, MOET, Ei, GG, Beanie, Fairy, Tinkerbelle, Chilledmama, PicknMix, Jollybear, Hatty, ClarePO, Tegan and anyone I have missed on this very busy thread!

Shakey I am sorry to hear about your DH's problems. I bet he's had enough of doctors after all that, poor chap.

Ei - CB need a lot number on order to send me replacements. I had to come home from work and dig the box out of the kitchen bin (eugh) and I only did that because I want CB to make it up to me! Still, it has been 3 faulty tests so far, and the box I dug out only had 2 in it, so I guess they won't be replacing all of their duds. Seriously I don't think they should sell pregnancy tests if they are not capable of making them properly. I have emailed my hero at Peeonastick and told her all about CB.

In future I will be buying Boots generic tests only and not testing until I am late. Officially this time I will be absolutely totally late tomorrow (if FF is wrong about when I ovulated), so tomorrow will tell. If AF has not shown up by Thurs I am going to go to a private clinic and get a blood test.

I am putting my chart on here so that those of you who chart can remark on how lovely it is!! do you think FF has my ovulation day right? I am not sure and think it could be the Weds instead. What do you reckon?

Scary's chart

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 20:52

Haha, was looking at that chart for a bit thinkin, gee that looks a lot like mine
Turns out it is mine!
Don't think you have the address quite right scary

And, yeah right, claiming more BD than you have, we believe you.
Go on, bet you are just as lazy as me

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 20:54

Oh, I don't know how to do it then.
How the heck do I link to a FF chart?

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 20:59

You go to the side bar wher it says sharing, click that, then click homepage. Then you copy and paste your address.
It should look like this
www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1de4ef

You need the numbers and letters at the end.
I think there is another step in the middle, ie once you are in the homepage bit, but I forget what. Hopefully it is obvious once your in there. I figured it out so it must be fairly easy.

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:01

Once your in the homepage bit you can choose whether or not to show your BD information, so we need never have questioned your promiscuity

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 21:06

(Or lack thereof...)

Ta da!

the right link

I hope

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:18

Your chart looks good to me, not that I am an expert at reading these things, but I think that the wed OV is prob right cos your temp stayed above the coverline after that.
It is good that you are still so high in temps too.
My temp started to go down a few days before I got my positive too, so I feel confident for you. But who knows and it hasn't really gone down that much. Mine went waaay down.
There again, when I was getting close, I was getting very rubbish at taking it properly or on time, so my end temps mean very little.

When are you testing again?
Are you going to wait for CB to send you new tests or get the boots ones?

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 21:24

I have Boots ones and will do one tomorrow.
If I am not pregnant I need to see my GP in any event as I have had cramps for nearly a week and low back pain. Both of these I had when I conceived DD, but equally they can both be symptoms of things not being quite right.

I keep hoping FF is right and I ov'd on the Monday as that makes me officially late already and it better for our BD efforts this cycle. But I think it was the Wed so I guess I can expect AF tomorrow (grrr).

Am still going to harass CB for some replacement tests though.

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:34

Ooh, so excited for you, hope you get your BFP tommorrow, or that the doc can help you with the pain.
Am excied for you though

mibbes · 18/03/2008 21:41

Shakey sorry to hear about DH, it is such a difficult subject to deal with as they are very senstitive about anything linked to their 'man bits'.
GG lovely to 'see' you missus, really sweet of you to pop in and offer Shakey advice. Glad you are keeping your chin up and continuing to symptom spot
Scary you are quite entitled to a self-indulgent day hun. I agree that you ov'd on Wed esp as you still had EWCM (it dries up as soon as you have ov'd). Also I'd have thought your coverline should be higher as more than half temps are above or on the line. I think if it were raised your ov would definitely be Wed. Did you still BD then ? I see you have removed our access to your love life ! I also notice that there is an upward rise on 9dpo...ooohh a very good sign !Bucketloads of luck for your test tomorrow xx

chilledmama · 18/03/2008 22:07

Oh Shakey, so sorry to hear your news...never nice to get disappointing news but definately not end of the world...though can see why he's not keen to go to docs!!.
Scary, I think its very important to be self indulgent sometimes...lets face it, when your a mummy you don't get to do it often!!!!!!! Everything is crossed for you for the morning and Friday morning to if needs be but its all sounding quite positive.

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 22:12

Mibbes no BD on Weds, unfortunately. I totally did not feel like it on Tues when DH was home (silly me) and so the most timely BD was Sunday night. I guess if my ov was early on Wed it might just have done the trick...

But either way, surely it would show on a test by now...

I just can't get excited this time. Although I was just in the bathroom and happened to notice my (.)(.) are looking very veiny. Is that a sign???

mibbes · 18/03/2008 22:17

OOh Jollybear I had another look at your chart and all looks very promising, was this morning's temp taken early/late ? It is nice and high either way and you'll be 16dpo tomorrow !! All the best missus, am in knots crossing all of my bits for my FF HCB xx

mibbes · 18/03/2008 22:21

Scary veiny boobs is a really good sign !!! and if your Sun BD did the trick and you ov'd on Wed then swimmers were just hanging about for 2 days until the egg showed up . It is actually better that FF is wrong as then BFN is even more understandable as too early. Am also tied in knots crossing everything for you hun.
You 2 ladies SH and JB hurry back with results in the morning as this crossed-everything yoga pose is not very comfortable

ScaryHairy · 18/03/2008 22:22

Wow jollybear how on earth are you managing to resist testing? I would have done about 30- by now!!

ScaryHairy · 19/03/2008 06:45

Hello

Quick pre-work post: temp has dropped quite far so I am out of the running and I expect AF to come today. Oh well, there's always next cycle, providing that these veiny boobs go away so that DH doesn't go totally off me!!!

Thanks for all your understanding last night wih my self-indulgent posting. I don't know why I get my hopes up so much, I really try not to but I guess it is not helped by Clearblue.

mibbes · 19/03/2008 08:08

aaahh Scary am so sorry missus {{{big hugs}}}} xx

tinkerbell2 · 19/03/2008 08:29

morning ladies
soory sh

JollyBear · 19/03/2008 09:13

BFN for me .

I can't see a test being wrong on 15DPO so I expect AF will arrive in a few days. Looks like I might have an 18 day LP after all.

Sorry you are having such a disappointing day too SH. We both had such good charts .

Sorry for the miserable post everyone.

beaniesteve · 19/03/2008 09:51

Day 24 of a 24 day cycle which is usually bang on so I look forward to my period tommorrow!

MadOldEasterTurkey · 19/03/2008 10:13

JB i am so so sorry to hear that - i think we all had our hopes up for you. You must be gutted. Do look after yourself today - thinking of you. X

Scaryhairy likewise for you - so sorry that your temp has dropped and you feel AF is on her way. Thinking of you too. X

Anyone got any good news out there to cheer us all up? On a positive note, i have found my EWCM! (No, it wasn't behind the sofa cushions) I did what it suggests in TCOYF and did a 2 finger "scissor like" manoever upwards, and got hold of some! So it appears that the OPK is right and i haven't ov'ed yet. At reflexology i explained everything to her - really delayed cycle (for me) and feeling generally like a hormonal, angry, wreck, and she said that my body is probably "re-setting" itself, and that it is a good thing, and everything should sort itself out. Still feel like i could kill, though
