Am wondering if my desire for children is just silly clock ticking, or that my boyfriend wants them, or if I will ever have one.

After 12 years with someone who wasn't interested in starting a family I am finally with someone who does and now I feel like I never will

Still no positive OV test. Hrrmmph.

ScaryHairy · 10/03/2008 20:39

Hi everyone

LOL at GG's printer incident. I am always leaving things on the shared printer at work so don't dare print anything personal (I do have my own office, though, for lots of good MN lurking!)

Good luck to disenchanted and Pink - hope you both get BFPs.

MOB so glad you and DH are ok.

JB I ov'd somewhere between Monday and Wednesday of last week so we are testing buddies (although probably not much point for me).

Ei and Bucky sorry AF got you both (nasty witch).

Relax Beanie you'll get there!

Hi to everyone I've missed. I hope you're all well and had a good Monday.

Not much news from here. FF says I ovulated on Wednesday last week but I think it could have been a bit earlier. Either way, I am a bit stymied since we only BD'd on Sunday night. For some reason I didn't get my usual ovulation urge to copulate!

New approach to TTC means relaxing and making lots of plans to make me happy if I don't get pregnant soon. So two positives when I get this cycle's BFN are that I will be able top have a glass of wine (and God do I want one!) and I have booked a holiday in May and if I am not pg I will be able to go diving. I am sure this is helping me chill out.

I am also having acupincture but am not sure how beneficial it is. I am absolutely more relaxed, but that could be because I am meditating more. The acupuncturist puts a needle into each wrist and one in my forehead and then leaves me to meditate. It's just kind of odd as when I have previously had acupuncture they have focused on nourishing my womb - so lots of needles in points to improve my liver chi. This three-needles-and-have-a-kip approach makes me wonder whether I am getting my money's worth. I don't know. I'll give it one more week and see how I feel.

Since this is the symptom spotting thread I feel obliged to have some symptoms, so I volunteer itchy (.)(.) and a bit of a lower back ache. I'll try to come up with some better ones soon!

pinkgirl30 · 10/03/2008 21:03

HI beanies here is some baby dust and smiles for you to cheer you up* thankssh*good luck

twinklingfairy · 10/03/2008 23:10

At so many of you mentioning me cos of my strop

All excited today, I have symptoms!!
My temp dipped today and I had cramps, implantation anyone? And my boobs were sore too. Right up in my armpits though that can't be right?

Ach, well will just have to wait.
Oh my! I have just checked, I was losing track. FF says I am 8dpo today. So I could test on Friday! That would make me 1 day late.
But I will still resist and not test until Saturday.
Still don't think I will get my BFP this month but would love it.

I am so fickle! One minute I want a BFP next I don't!
I think we will see what happens by saturday but if AF arrives then I am off somewhere special and hot!
It is amazing the change in FIL since DD came along. He wants to spend so much time with her, but lives over 200 miles way, so is willing to take us on holiday in order to get dedicated time with her (don't get me wrong have always got on well with PIL, but never been taken on hols before DD!). He says one week is not enough though (one week away last year), this year it just has to be 2!!
Ok then!

I have gone through twice but can't find who said that they had taken their 2yo on a 5hr train journey sorry. Can you tell me how they were. I was considering taking my DD on a 4hr, then 2hr journey (so 6hrs, with a break IYSWIM) She is about 18mo. Would it be a really dumb idea?

pinkgirl30 · 11/03/2008 07:54

hi tf sounds promising good luck

pinkgirl30 · 11/03/2008 07:59

morning ladies had lots of clear cm last nite and had a wee @ 7am feel like i could go again

twinklingfairy · 11/03/2008 10:02

Call me fairy

It is all just a horrid waiting game.
poo

JollyBear · 11/03/2008 11:00

Morning all,

bucky Have you packed yet?! It will be sooo lovely to escape this windy weather.

Hatty Oooh yes I think we were ov buddies. Do you know how long your LP is? According to my last mega long cycle my LP is 18days?! Although I read something Attila had posted on another thread that said on a long cycle temps go up without ov (I think something similar happened to DG), so I'm not sure . It is good you are booked in to see the doc anyway. Hopefully you'll have to cancel it

MOB It might be a good idea not to use OPKs and see how it goes. Being relaxed is good news.

Beanie Hope that positive opks arrives for you soon.

SH You must be 6 or 7 dpo, fairy is 8dpo and hatty is 7 same as me I think. Quite a bunch of us! I am going to try and hold out for testing until 14dpo but might cave in at 12 dpo! How about you SH? fairy A dip and symptoms sounds great! How big was your dip? I had a slight dip 5dpo but it was still within my high range so I don't know if it counts .

Hello to everyone else!

twinklingfairy · 11/03/2008 14:46

jollybear my dip went from 36.86 to 36.76 and today back up to 36.86. Was still in my high range too does that make a difference? I hadn't thought so? Could be wrong though.

(.)(.)'s a bit sore, on top, today.
Getting excited.
No, I must not get excited!!
But it was about my only symptom with DD too, and cramps. Really the boobies being sore made me sure, the cramps just felt like AF arriving.

That does sound like a lot of us are giong to be testing at the same time.
Who will test with me on Saturday?

twinklingfairy · 11/03/2008 14:48

An LP of 18 days sounds much better than my measley 11
I have read that the average is 10-16, but is more than that bad? I am not sure, shouldn't think so.
Has it happened often or just this once?

JollyBear · 11/03/2008 15:10

Hello Fairy That is one of the reasons I'm presuming that on my last cycle my temp rose but I didn't ov, because an 18day LP would be very rare, I think!. This is only my second cycle temping so I haven't anything to compare it to yet.

I had a look at charts on FF after my last post and you are right, an implantation dip can be within the high range. Mine went from 36.99 4dpo to 36.78 on 5dpo then 36.90 and 36.97 today. Not sure if that's a dip or not, plus 5dpo would be early for implantation.

You have such promising symptoms and a very noticeable dip there. Fingers crossed for you

I'd love to test with you on Saturday but can't face a BFN so am going to try and find some willpower from somewhere and hold out for a bit longer!

beaniesteve · 11/03/2008 15:16

HELLO!

I have not been able to detect a surge using OV sticks yet and am on CD 16.

Having what I can only describe as period pains (I rarely get them) and aches in my breasts. Not sure what this would be unless it is ovulation pains. Going to do another test in a bit.

JollyBear · 11/03/2008 15:21

How long are your cycles usually beanie? Lots of women ov later than CD16 so you might have a few days to go yet. Your symptoms sound promising though so fingers crossed you detect the surge.

beaniesteve · 11/03/2008 15:32

my cycles are 24 days

pinkgirl30 · 11/03/2008 19:00

hi could i be pregnant with my symptoms? when should i test again?

Emmsy1 · 11/03/2008 19:34

lets hope that we have another BFP(or BFP's) on this thread by Saturday! It would be lovely to start the weekend off with some good news! good luck to all of you who will be testing on Saturday (if not before!??)x

TantiK · 11/03/2008 20:05

twinklingfairy - it was me who took my ds on a 5 hour train journey, we were travelling back from the Dolomites to Rome (where I live), we took a small pot of playdoh, some colours and paper, a car and 10 pieces of lego (i'm a bit neurotic about losing toys so I counted the number of pieces I took...). These all seemed to work a treat, we took him for a couple of walks to the bar bit of the train and he was fine. I did it on my own from Rome to Trento and he was also good for me then. My advice would be to be prepared!

Back to thread - AF still with me and can't work out how to fit in Bd this month as I will be at my parents - dh joins me for the crucial days, but it is a bit weird bding at my parents. Will also have one night at my SIL's, there house is even smaller so will be even more of a challenge. If it doesn't happen this month the chances are that I will get pg next month and then DS will have a birthday buddy! (my sis and I share a birthday - when she was born I was so worried I wouild have to share presents!).

pinkgirl - so proud of you holding out to test, fingers crossed these symptoms are all pg symptoms, they do sound like it.

Who is next to test?

pinkgirl30 · 11/03/2008 21:03

thanks fairy was going to wait till monday enless you think i should test any earlier

ScaryHairy · 11/03/2008 21:19

Fairy that could be implantation. How very exciting! I have taken my daughter (nearly 2) on a lot of European flights. Between the getting to the airport, hanging about in general, delays etc there have been a number of times we've been travelling for over 6 hours and it is ok. Take toys and tons of snacks and try to feed your LO into submission!

JB Fertility Friend now says I am now 8dpo, but it doesn't seem sure. I hope so as that would mean I ov'd on Monday having BD'd on Sunday night. But anyway I am starting to accept that for some reason this is going to take a loooong time, so I am not getting too excited. It's nice there's lots of us finding out at once. I really hope everyone gets BFPs!!

Tantik I know what you mean but for some reason my DH always wants to BD when we're at my parents' place. I think he's living in some teenage timewarp and thinks it is naughty. So sorry, that must be TMI!! You just have to be very quiet!!

Hello to Pinkgirl and Beaniestevie and anyone ele who's about. I hope you're all well.

twinklingfairy · 11/03/2008 22:48

Thanks TantiK and Scary for the train info.
I will wait to see what happens if I need to make the journey or not. But entertain and feed seems to be the answer

I think I would leave off testing again if I were you pink. On my first cycle after DD I was in the 40's (cycle days, not my age) and I gave up testing in the end. What is meant to be will be and if AF turns up, then it wasn't meant to be, but if not, another week sounds long enough to wait.

Boobs still giving the odd twinge, but really I think they do this every month. I am heading down the negative path for a while, just in case I get my low temp tomorrow morning.
I always start going down the chart, 2 days before AF, so tomorrow will tell.
Mind you, even if it is low, I will still convince myself it is just a blip

Hmm, I am not very good at staying on that old negative path, am I?

Emmsy1 · 12/03/2008 05:40

Morning ladies! have we had any sneaky testers this morning???

pinkgirl30 · 12/03/2008 08:23

thanks fairy
morning emmsy1 i am testing monday

pinkgirl30 · 12/03/2008 08:27

morning all hope wind hasnt ruffled anyone up too much
hope u all have a good morning

JollyBear · 12/03/2008 09:34

Morning all,

Hello GG, MOB, ei, mibbes! Where are you hiding?

bucky Have a great time on your holiday! I wish I could come along in your suitcase .

Tankit How lovely to live in Rome! Is your DH Italian?

Hatty How are you? Hope AF hasn't reared her ugly head and you are gearing up to test.

SH Hope FF is right because a Sunday bd for a Monday ov would be perfect . LOL at your DH!

pink Clear wet CM is usually fertile so you might be ov now. You could be pregnant but as it is your first cycle off the pill, frustrating as it is, you are just as likely to be having a long cycle. Hope that doesn't sound harsh! I obviously hope you get your BFP on Monday.

Beanie Try not to fret too much (easier said than done I know!), hopefully you just missed the surge which is very easy to do with opks.

Fairy How is your temp today? Hope it is staying high.

Well I have no symptoms at all I'm afraid. How very dull. Temp still high though .

hattyyellow · 12/03/2008 09:44

Hey JB hanging onto my sanity by a whisker on day 29 . Are you going to test this month or just wait to see if AF comes? Sorry, my rotten brain has forgotten how long your cycles are/what day you're on?

Dh convinced I'm pregnant as my PMT/hormones has been terrible this month, far worse than normal - crying at the drop of a hat, tired, ratty, so forgetful that I am leaving random things in random places and then crying because I can't find them!

I however feel like period due any minute, feel very crampy and liquidy (sorry far too much information). .

Tantik I am so utterly jealous of you living in Rome. I visited years ago and it would be my number one place to move to if we could move abroad again tomorrow. Such an amazing city..

pink well done holding out! Really hope you get some good news soon!

ei where are you? we need some more predicitions!!
