Hey JB

I posted earlier today!! Congratulating you on your good scan results etc.

Thanks for thinking of me though, nice to know people care

GG I am going to look for your thread....Sorry the doctor was rubbish .

France was really good and Finn who went back to the breeder we got him from for the weekend has come back all refreshed too . I fretted about him all weekend too...We did have a bit of a shock though. In the cold light of day the kennels were all stinky and the other dogs were covered in poo . Finn was in his own cage and is quite clean so he wasn't dirty, but the 'field' they kept talking about, that the dogs could 'gamble and run in' was about a third of the size of my garden and had a big bonfire and loads of rubbish in it . We don't want to take him back there now...but he seems so happy and content there...weird.

pinkgirl30 · 05/03/2008 08:17

morning Ladies

hattyyellow · 05/03/2008 09:07

Bucky poor Fin! But at least if he seems okay and happy, he's not too traumatised..

GG how rubbish is your DH's doctor? I would be fuming! Hope he gets a sensible answer soon.

Coolkat that's great news about your doctor apologising and being a bit more reassuring. I don't see why she can't do another blood test, but at least the early scan should help the worry a bit...do keep us posted

pinkgirl everything xd for you, I've forgotten if long cycles are typical for you?

JB hurrah for the positive OPK! Fingers crossed!

Waving to all..Tantik lol at your sickness for 5 seconds on the bus, sounds just like my kinda symptom spotting!

No news from here - have been trying a low GI diet this month as doctor seemed to think there was a good chance I have PCOS but too early to do conclusive tests. So I wanted to try something that might help and would be beneficial generally to my health. Have noticed a few positive differences including loads more EWCM than normal...

I'm quite late in my cycle, now worrying that my luteal phase is too short if I am only getting it now/ovulating on day 21/22 of 30-ish day cycle...any experts have any advice on this?

JollyBear · 05/03/2008 10:05

Morning all,

bucky I must have been having some sort of brain storm/memory loss and thought we hadn't seen you since before your weekend . Glad you are here anyway and Finn isn't too traumatised.

GG Hope things are improving with your DH. It is so hard when they cut themselves off and won't talk things through.

HY I'm not sure about luteal phase stuff. It is a shame mibbes is on holiday (well very nice for her of course!) as she was looking into this because hers is about 10 days. Do you usually ov so late in your cycle? It might just be a one off late ov which would lead to a longer cycle 30++ or a BFP!

My temp went up this morning . Fingers crossed it it keeps rising...

Will there be any testing today I wonder ? ei pink?!

GryffinGirl · 05/03/2008 10:32

good morning all!

I am really not in the mood to do any work after DH's results, so will have to hang around here .

Thanks for bumping my thread bucky (feel very grown up to have started a thread ). Glad you had a lovely break and how weird that Finn liked being back at the breeders when you were so disappointed with the set up. Also, i know all abotu men being rubbish about making appointments at the doctors so can sympathise about your DP. When do you get your results?

I got it wrong about DH's second test, it is tomorrow, not today, so another day of twiddling my thumbs waiting for progress. Time seems to drag when you are completely powerless yet desperate for "answers"

hatty - you are sooooo right. I was so at the GP. DH has always liked him in the past, so I was hopeful DH would talk to him freely, but there wasn't much point! GP's obviously don't know everything, but took me about 2 secs to check the World Health Organisation standards for the tests on google. I'd have thought it's a common issue for 30-something men to see their GP's about (plus it was a follow up appointment to discuss the results )

hello to coolkat - how are you doing m'dear?

jolly Ei pinkgirl tanik and everyone else big hello.

Where is madoldbird?? YoooHoooo MOB! Are you out there?

oh well, it feels a bit pointless writing this, given that my chances of getting preggers naturally look as likely as Lord Lucan being found alive and well and living in Coronation Street, but I am CD6 today . Funnily enough....no symptoms

pinkgirl30 · 05/03/2008 12:02

hi all

hy- came off pill jan23rd guessing it has messed up cycle on cd 39 no period, have tingly breasts, forgetfullness, cramps, tiredness. good luck for you
jb- i am testing monday cd39 no af
gg here are some smiles to cheer up up

Bucky2008 · 05/03/2008 12:16

Hatty are you sure the egg is hatching that late? If you get a surge over a number of days I believe the egg can hatch at any point that the LH reaches its peak. You may be catching the LH on its way out too. Does that make sense??? To clarify,

1st Day LH surge detected you may catch it on its way up, second day at its peak and third day on its way down. The egg could have hatched late on the first day or early on the second. It depends when you catch it.

Having said that even if it is CD20 or early CD21 that is pretty short . I have heard that taking B6 can lengthen LPs over time. Mine seems to be 11 days which isn't too fantastic either.

JB fingers crossed about the temp rise .

GG I shouted at my DP last night. He still hasn't made his appointment...arghh. He is super busy but how long does a phone call take. Anyway you have been there before so I don't need to tell you! My results are back in 7-10 days but I will probably be on holidays.

Well this month is a Dolly Parton month for me (if you have been here a while you will know what that means, actually its probably pretty obvious if you haven't too ). Will be interesting to know what effect that has on my results...maybe Dolly Parton months are unovulatory or something...CD23 today though and I think I ov super early so not much longer to wait for AF.

Have a good day all.
x

JollyBear · 05/03/2008 13:37

GG I thought that the comment from someone on your thread about sperm being made in a 3 monthly cycle was really interesting, perhaps changes in diet might make a slight difference and it only takes one after all. I can't imagine your DH being too keen on the idea of giving his privates a cold bath though .

bucky sorry.. Dolly Parton , maybe you have more hormones knocking about! I'm sure your DP isn't complaining.

It is so quiet on here at the moment! Are you all spending the working day actually working?!

libralady · 05/03/2008 15:47

Oh EI that is awful, I can not imagine what you and Mr Ei must be feeling. Remember don't take it out on one another. Hope it works out. X

ScaryHairy · 05/03/2008 20:39

Hi everyone

As part of my new resolution to stop getting so obsessed about ttc (and because I am under strict instructions from my acupuncturist to learn to relax) I have not been coming on MN, so am frantically trying to catch up now.

No idea if I am on the 2ww or not, becase I have also binned the wee sticks. Unfortunately I think I may have ovulated today or yesterday and there has been no sex since Sunday night, so I think this is one cycle where I won't be getting my hopes up (makes a change).

But anyway, I'll be popping in every now and then.

Have only read this page, but sorry to hear about your house Ei. It's really unfair when that sort of thing happens, but with house moves I always think it is sort of down to fate. Don't worry - that was not the right house for you, and a much better one will be along soon . BTW, have you had any dreams lately (preferably about me???)

twinklingfairy · 05/03/2008 20:41

Rotten horrible people. So glad you can't do that kind of thing in Scotland. So much more clear cut. Though far riskier(sp?)
DH and I would like to move, but we would have to sell our place first, to be in a good position to buy. But that may mean that we are homeless before we even find a house we like! Once you have accepted an offer, you put a closing date. If you don't find another house and get the closing date at the same time, tough!
You made the agreement, please vacate the premises.
We I really want to buy a house that we have seen, but we really need to put our house on the market first. If we don't get that house (for whatever reason) then we would have our house on the market and still be looking for another. It has taken about 6 months to find this one that I like.
But then we also would need to sell this house for a good price or we couldn't afford all the charges.
God it is just awful.

soooo sorry for that great big ramble.

The stress musn't be helping you at all ei. At least my plans are just pie in the sky.
DH doesn't think the house is worth the asking price and the guy wants offers over (Scottish law again)! So we are sitting back until he realises this and drops his asking price. We have been the only serious contenders so far. Fingers crossed he gets desperate

Maybe your guys are just playing hard ball, grr!

pinkgirl30 · 05/03/2008 21:26

sorry ei
that must be stressful angry
hopefully things will sort themselves out!!

ratbunny · 05/03/2008 21:37

can I join you?
we have been ttc for a few months (a bit heart-heartedly tbh), but strange things are happening. I feel nauseous some evenings, had some weird cramps, and my boobs feel like they did before let-down happened when I was bf.
i am not officially 'late' yet, and tbh I think my cycle is a bit buggered-up - I used to be irregular before I had ds.
So while I wait to come on, or do a test, can I compare symptoms ?

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 05/03/2008 22:23

Hi all

Thank you all for your warm welcome back!!

Ei how completely annoying for you. I have to say that I don't think we'll ever be in a position to buy (not in the area we live in currently anyway!! The south coast is not a 1st time buyers market!!) but I don't think I could cope with the stress of it anyway - massive hugs for you. Same goes for you TF.

Nice to 'see' you Scary!! I'm trying the same tack this month re non obsession - although I cracked and used one of my cheapy tests the other day as, although af arrived nearly 2 weeks ago I've been feeling sick every night for about a week and I didn't know why (needless to say it was BFN!). Hope your accupuncture helps to sort you out.

Good luck (if thats the right turn of phrase) to Gryffinboy for tomorrow.

JB have my fingers crossed for you and your high temps!!

Hatty I'm interested to know how your low GI diet goes as I too have possible PCOS and I would rather sort it through diet etc than have to go on Chlomid or something.

How strange about Finn Bucky - its nice that he obviously was ok when he got back but sad about the environment. You'll have to do some searching for a nicer place for him to holiday in future (I have a lovely big garden in the middle of lots of fields if he ever wants a trip to the coast )

MOB are you ok? Is Madoldbloke ok after the accident???

Hello to everyone else!!

I've well and truely missed the egg boat this month and am feeling quite liberated (although, as I said above, I'm still managing to obsess - old habits die hard!). SIL emailed to suggest that she put me in contact with her friends who are going through IVF (I let slip that we had been ttc for quite a while) but I politely declined - not sure we quite at that stage yet!

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 05/03/2008 23:10

Ei are you being a nightowl again? Surely after your finger lickin KFC extravaganza you should be zonked out with eating fatigue!!!!

Hope you're feeling a little more positive - as Scary said, I guess these things happen for a reason (lets hope a blardy good reason if its costing you £1000!) and you'll find a much nicer house very very soon xx

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 05/03/2008 23:42

Omigoodness I'm totally - that house is lovely, just the kind of place I would like to own (although if it was for sale around here it would be nearer £250,000 )

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 05/03/2008 23:49

we are lucky on the house prices being quite low up here in sunny liverpool but its crappity crap crap crap if you are selling DH isnt keen on that one as it is on a main road but im not bothered about that tho myself as its the house that really is what we are looking for
