morning emmsy!

I have been trying to drink less in my quest TTC - gosh its hard! Have just about managed 14 units this week (as long as I don't drink tonight!). Although will stop instantly if I think i'm pg.

Emmsy1 · 09/03/2008 07:16

fym Good morning hun, with two of my healthy bright kids, I was as drunk as a skunk only days before I got my BFP's,well exceeded 14 units in just the 1 night! I know its not good of me to advertise it on m/n but its the truth!! I was a big party animal a few years ago! Couldn't do it now though, too many children to look after and age thingy getting a grip!XX

SparklyMummy · 09/03/2008 10:22

(whispers) Morning all.
I'm feeling a bit green around the gills today and I only had a few drinks last night (a pint of wheat beer and 2 vodkas) and in a time span of 6 hours...I think it was the midnight curry that has made me feel yuk. I too have been trying to cut down on the booze since TTC but like Emmsy I was very drunk the day before I got my BFP with DD. Was in London and drank wine all day. We weren't TTC so on the way home I was thinking that I hadn't had a period and DP suggested I do a test and I got a BFP. I'm not saying that drink in pregnancy is safe but she turned out absolutely fine...maybe drunken sex is the key to getting pregnant. (makes mental note to get pissed at OV time)...

My brother and his wife had a baby on Thursday so we are going to visit today. Will see you all later xxx

Emmsy1 · 09/03/2008 10:44

well i have just been on the phone to my mum (only told her a few days ago that I am pregnant) she has managed to convince me that I am going to miscarry again, told her that I have had an upset stomach for 2 days and an achy lower back, she is adamant that its not right and when I told her I am constantly lifting the little ones she reminded me that I jogged up until I was 6 months when I was pregnant with my little girl and that I should know my body by now! She said it was a shame and that its not meant to be! came off the phone really down, just started to winge as Im writing this, really wish I hadn't phoned her!

OP posts:
cricri · 09/03/2008 10:56

Emmsy Sorry to hear about your negative phone conversation with your Mum. They certainly have the knack of winding us up don't they at times! Do you have any other symptoms apart from achey lower back and upset stomach? Stay positive (easier said than done I know!) Your back is probably due to lifting LOs and the stomach upset is more than likely pg-related. There is no reason to think that you will mc again and each pg is different so how you felt during one doesn't mean that you will feel the same during another. But you know all this already Think "healthy and well" (mantra from knicker-checkers anonymous). I think you said that you weren't entitled to an early scan either - is there any way that you could lay it on thick with the doctor and say that you need one for peace of mind? Or go to EPU? Take care of yourself. xx

SparklyMummy · 09/03/2008 11:40

Emmsy That was awful of your mother. You know your body and i'm sure you're absolutely fine. As cricri said your bad back is prob due to lifting the LOs and upset stomach - didn't you say that your LOs have had the lurgy sickbug? Maybe you've caught a bit of that and you're fighting it off? Cheer up chick. Don't let her get you down. Lots of love. XXXX

fym · 09/03/2008 13:50

Emmsy - your mum may just be trying to prepare you for the worst.....she probably doesn't want to see you upset if the worst did happen IYSWIM

Emmsy1 · 09/03/2008 16:49

cricri my mum is the best person in the world at winding me up, she loves doom and gloom she seems to thrive on it, she loves to ring me up to tell me someone has died!
Mum rang my sister straight after our conversation to tell her that I was probably at the start of another miscarriage!
Anyway my mood has been lifted now, my little boy was picked to play in a football tournament on 30th March, I dont have any stomach ache at the moment but I do have a very low backache, it seems to subside and then comes back again, more so after lifting the children into the car!! I have my feet up at the moment and after tea my DH is going to bath the children for me, so plan (hope)to take it a little easier over the next few days. I don't want to go to the docs, just wish I had a few bob to go for a private scan! 31st march isn't that far away, will be so made up to reach that dateXX
sparkly your right, children were really poorly the week before last, so may have picked up their nasty bug, I am feeling so much better than this morning, Im sure if I was going to M/C it would have well started by now, besides this pregnancy must be going well as I look like "humpty dumpty" I may paint myself as an easter egg in 2 weeks XXXX
fym Mum may be thinking along thoes lines, she just doesn't always think before she opens her mouth, maybe thats were I get my lack of tact from!xx

Hi, the good news is I had a fab time last night, not a tear drop in sight, was nice to let my hair down and not be thinking about babies for a change. And the even better news is I don't even have a hangover today, maybe I've finally mastered the art of paceing myself lol.
And I've had a lovely day today, done some spring cleaning and gardening (god I'm getting old!) and now DP is going to pick us up a take away and got a big box of Thornton's which I need to finish tonight as I'm starting back on the diet tomorrow. This TTC malarky is causing havoc with my waistline, I just end up comfort eating and keep thinking 'well I'll get fat when I'm pregnant anyway'. Need to put it to an end tho cos I'm gonna end up huge at this rate.

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 09/03/2008 18:32

hi girls
AF not causin too much bother here so il be back in the saddle in a few days
emmsy sorry you had a bad conversation with your mum FWIW my mum was also of the same attitude with my preg with DD. she kept reminding me to 'be careful and take it easy with this one' (i MC in october 2002 at 14 weeks) and was analysing every twinge i had and trying in her own way to prepare me for the worst. it wasnt appreciated by me i just felt anxious and worried for the first 14 weeks which i already did due to the MC its my mums way of showing that she is payin attention but a bit of a backwards way to go about it and also i suffered with my back from day one with DD and it turned out that the placenta was at the top towards the back so DD had implanted quite high up and towards the back of my uterus which the consultant said may have been the cause of my early back ache hope you are ok and i have helped in some way
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

Emmsy1 · 09/03/2008 18:42

Thanks Ei my backache is really low down, just where my buttocks end but quite central, can you remember how low your backache was?

OP posts:
EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 09/03/2008 18:48

it was really low and felt like dull aching whenever i moved about so i was worried about it and ended up getting a scan at around 12 weeks i wasnt due one for a few more weeks and they said all was fine if i was you i would ring the EPU and lay it on thick saying you have pain which is bad enough to need paracetamol and are worried surely they will try to help you esp seeing as how you had problems in the past i hope all is well
xx ei xx

Emmsy1 · 09/03/2008 19:03

so pleased yours was low down Ei I already feel better, I will see how I feel tommorow, I dont really want to 'tempt fate' so to speak, I may try and find the courage to ring the EPU if still getting these pains in the morning but if they tell me I have to go through my doc I wont bother!, thanks for your advice you have definately reassured me XXX

Emmsy1 · 10/03/2008 04:05

morning girls check the time! I have been awake for an hour already, Im goiong to be knackered when its time to take the children to school!

I was looking on the temping buddies thread before, and fym has posted a few messages on it, about a group of people who have been taking the piss out of "genuine mumsnetters" they have been creating false threads to win a challenge to see how many replies they can get! It looks as though mumsnet have removed the original challenge so we cant see it! I am so angry, I'm not going to ba answering alot of threads anymore, its put me right off, I have just answered one before about "I may have done something stupid" starting to think that was a bogus thread, Im going to try and get back to sleep now, but probably wont as I feel relly annoyed, I reckon that M/N should block these people from posting anymore, god knows how many people who need help or encouragement will be put off from posting now!

OP posts:
Emmsy1 · 10/03/2008 04:41

sparkly not sure if you got my messages on msn before? it kept telling me that my message couldn't be delivered to the recipients?? if you did get my messages, I came back on to mumsnet to find my message had now been posted on mumsnet! it wouldn't except it before??

OP posts:
Emmsy1 · 10/03/2008 04:45

sparkly went back on to msn to let you know that mumsnet had now let me post but you have disappeared off my contact list??
please can I have your msn details again, if you dont want to post them on here, pass them on to fruity Ei or piper and they can send them to me via msn ta hun XXX

OP posts:
Emmsy1 · 10/03/2008 04:51

Do you think that being pregnant makes you more paranoid than normal?? I was convinced that mumsnet was trying to block my post because I was annoyed about the fake threads, just realised its probably the gales that have started that are causing problems for internet/websites etc... feel really silly now!!
