Hi everyone, thought I'd try making us a second thread now the old one is done -

Tagging @Triselly @lemons44 @CR7 @Flowerlover010 @pongom @WholeZebra @TheBirdintheCave @SarahShorty - will go back to the thread and see if there's anyone else to add in, but do tag those I've missed!

It might feel real when the baby arrives. Even then you still might not believe it's real 😂 I think after so long and so much heartbreak, you begin to accept it may never happen, so when it does happen, you're almost in the "This can't be real/What the bloody hell have I done?" kind of realm.

RunningOnHope · 30/08/2023 16:18

Hi @Triselly and all - nice to hear from you, sorry for being AWOL! I am getting set for September cycle. We have two frozen embryos left from the original April round, and are planning to put both back this time. It's because we're moving out of the area in October, and don't want the hassle of moving one last embryo or coming back for a final round here, it's too far. So, it's both of them in this time.

On Norethisterone for now, DREADING the withdrawal bleed in a few days (probably Monday?) and then starting off with baseline scan on the 6th, next Wednesday I think.

CR7 · 30/08/2023 16:49

My withdrawal blows was only two days worth. Nothing major xx

CR7 · 30/08/2023 16:49

*bleed!

TheBirdintheCave · 30/08/2023 19:15

@RunningOnHope Exciting! 😬 I'm a bit behind you now as I caught Covid which delayed this cycles ovulation by a week. Only just 6dpo today. Everything is set up to go otherwise though :) AF is due on the 7th and if everything is as it was last time I won't be transferring until the 29th 🙄

I turn 37 on the 26th ☹️

Triselly · 01/09/2023 07:23

Glad to hear a few of us have new cycles this month! I'm turning 37 too this month @TheBirdintheCave 😅

AF due to start in a couple of days time for me, then it's back on stims, etc with EC probably around the 18th ughgghghgh. I'm gonna talk to someone though as it's stressing me out quite a large amount.

@RunningOnHope ah hope your summer has been going well! Is the move to do with a new job? Sounds like a very exciting time again, how would you feel if both the embryos were successful?

❤️ To all of you out there xx

TheBirdintheCave · 01/09/2023 07:35

@Triselly Speaking to someone is a good idea :) I hope this round goes smoothly for you!

We're off to Cornwall this morning so at least this next week will be distracting for me 😬

RunningOnHope · 01/09/2023 07:41

@CR7 the withdrawal bleed I had from norethisterone last time was only a couple of days but it included a horrifically painful two hours culminating in passing a huuuuuge clot, which finally eased the pain. Just hoping that if that happens again, it's at a manageable time and place, not when I'm at toddler group with my DD for instance!

@Triselly will be thinking of you gearing up for stims again. Does it feel different now that you've done it before? Talking to someone always helps I think ❤️

Yep, new job and big move coming by up mid October- it's been a summer of uncertainty on both the ivf and job front so at least this will be some resolution for now. If neither of these embryos take, we will have to pause to settle in the new place, talk about the options, and find some more money.

If both take? I'd be delighted. I know there are risks to twins but going from 1 to 3 kids would be brilliant!

Triselly · 01/09/2023 08:58

Cheers guys, yeah I don’t feel excited at all for this round, I’m just dreading it. The first round everything was new and exciting, this round nothing but fear.

The sedation they gave me the first round for egg collection just didn’t have any noticeable effect, it was just a bit of liquid Valium so I felt every single stab and movement and I am beyond scared about it. They don’t offer anything heavier where I live unfortunately. And there’s an increased risk of another ectopic also.

Ugh sorry to dump, I feel like I can never relax knowing what’s around the corner. So I’m booked to go talk to someone next week who might have some advice on how to deal with fear and pain.

Hope that you have a lovely time in Cornwall @TheBirdintheCave a bit of relaxation time is exactly what is needed! Xx

@RunningOnHope Yes twins would be fantastic! Do you have a rough date for FET? It sounds like it’s been such an intense few months for you, hope you’ve got or had some holiday time too this summer! ❤️

Hope everyone else here has a lovely weekend, and that @CR7 @KG96 and @WholeZebra are all doing alright with their bumps!

KG96 · 01/09/2023 09:20

@Triselly I'm so sorry the egg harvest was so painful for you 😢my clinic did an internal injection (you feel a little prick kind of like when the dentist numbs your gums) and they also gave me a mixture of painkillers (I can't remember what but I remember them joking about what cocktail I was getting - I chose a Pina Colada) I also had gas and air and liquid paracetamol beforehand.
I actually didn't feel a thing throughout the process, and I even watched them drain the ovaries on the screen. Afterwards I ended up in quite a lot of pain with what I think was a twisted ovary. I was in so much pain that they thought I was haemorrhaging so they gave me some codeine for the pain.

I was obviously really lucky that my clinic was so willing to give pain relief. It's basically like a minor operation so I'm surprised they don't give you more 😩I hope all goes well for you and that this round doesn't hurt quite so much. Maybe you could ask about taking some codeine or something before the procedure?

WholeZebra · 02/09/2023 11:05

@Triselly my fingers are firmly crossed for a more pleasant egg collection. I remember severe pain and then the doctor nodding and then I remember nothing else - so I’m assuming they knocked me out? All okay this end - struggling with nausea and work. I’ve also lost 2kg but my clothes don’t fit anymore - buttons won’t do up. Not sure how that works?

TheBirdintheCave · 03/09/2023 10:26

In shock here! Natural try before our next FET. Can't believe this is real. It feels like I'm dreaming.

Early days of course as I'm only 10dpo but... wow.

SarahShorty · 03/09/2023 10:42

@TheBirdintheCave oooooh! Have you tried a digital test? Seeing the word will be the icing on the cake. Congratulations!! 🎉🎉

TheBirdintheCave · 03/09/2023 10:43

@SarahShorty We're on holiday at the moment but will be calling into the supermarket after today's activity to buy them out of tests 😂

SarahShorty · 03/09/2023 10:46

@TheBirdintheCave hahaha!

SarahShorty · 03/09/2023 10:51

AF has arrived in full force today, which is from a natural try, so next FET here we go. Going for a double embryo transfer this time which will leave one left in the freezer. We're both so tired.

WholeZebra · 03/09/2023 13:44

@TheBirdintheCave oh my god! How amazing. Fingers firmly crossed and can’t wait to see more test results!!!

KG96 · 03/09/2023 18:22

Congratulations @TheBirdintheCave can’t believe that’s happened naturally and just before your next cycle as well! The line looks quite strong for 10dpo too, about the same as mine was at 14dpo! Hoping all goes well for you! So exciting! X

TheBirdintheCave · 03/09/2023 21:40

@SarahShorty So sorry that AF has arrived. I have everything crossed for the double transfer. I hope you end up with two sticky beans <3

@KG96 I still can't believe it. And yeah! It's the strongest line I've ever had at 10dpo. Came up instantly. I thought it was just the dye passing over the screen at first but then it just got darker.

Couldn't get any extra tests as I forgot it was Sunday and everything closed at 4pm 🙄 Will have to grab a digi tomorrow.

RunningOnHope · 04/09/2023 19:31

@TheBirdintheCave that's amazing! Oh my goodness, I really hope this works out for you - such good news! Waving at you wherever you are in Cornwall, we're here too 😁 hope it's a holiday to remember!

OP posts:
RunningOnHope · 04/09/2023 19:38

@SarahShorty are you doing your double transfer this cycle? I am just about starting AF, I think tomorrow will be day 1 proper. Also going for a double transfer, probably w/b 25th.

OP posts:
SarahShorty · 04/09/2023 20:53

@TheBirdintheCave thanks xx That's the hope, yes. Twins would be amazing 😍Although I'll be happy with one baby at the moment. Did you get a digital test? Can't wait to see your BFP!

@RunningOnHope Yepyep! I'm on CD2 today and I have a baseline scan booked in for tomorrow. Transfer is looking like the last week of September with the pregnancy to be around my DH's 35th birthday.

SarahShorty · 04/09/2023 20:54

pregnancy test*

TheBirdintheCave · 04/09/2023 21:11

@SarahShorty Yes I picked one up today :) I have a three pack of tests so will do one tomorrow, one on Thurs and then the digi on Sat.

RunningOnHope · 04/09/2023 22:50

Keeping everything crossed for you @TheBirdintheCave!

@SarahShorty I've got baseline on Wednesday so glad to have a timeline buddy this round! Here's hoping it goes brilliantly for both of us 🙏
