Hi everyone, thought I'd try making us a second thread now the old one is done -

Tagging @Triselly @lemons44 @CR7 @Flowerlover010 @pongom @WholeZebra @TheBirdintheCave @SarahShorty - will go back to the thread and see if there's anyone else to add in, but do tag those I've missed!

@TheBirdintheCave very hopeful for you. Lines don't always get darker so that's a good sign!! X

TheBirdintheCave · 18/07/2023 08:28

@CR7 Thanks :) Me too now. I was expecting it to be negative this morning so I'm a bit surprised.

@RunningOnHope Oh bless. Progesterone is so useful but so annoying at times 😂 And the constant leaking! Augh 😓

I've had nausea yesterday and today but no sore boobs yet which is odd as that's normally my usual progesterone side effect. I guess the Lutigest is a little different in it's makeup.

WholeZebra · 18/07/2023 09:04

@TheBirdintheCave ahhh! Fingers crossed! Keep us updated with how it goes. How many days post are you?

TheBirdintheCave · 18/07/2023 09:19

@WholeZebra Only four 😅

Copenhagener · 18/07/2023 15:18

Sorry for being AWOL. I wanted to take a break while I waited to see if my final IUI worked. No surprises here: it didn’t.

So; it’s all aboard the IVF train. We’re going public system for now, which sadly means waiting until December/January to begin treatment :(

I never had high hopes for IUIs, but it was so irritating intentionally wasting time and putting my body through that stress (they were medicated), just to tick a box so I can go on the IVF waitlist. I would’ve much preferred to get straight to a treatment that was much more likely to succeed.

TheBirdintheCave · 18/07/2023 15:19

@Copenhagener I'm sorry it didn't work :(

WholeZebra · 18/07/2023 15:39

@Copenhagener I’m so sorry :(. Hope that the wait goes by quickly and you can start the next step.

RunningOnHope · 18/07/2023 18:56

Sorry to hear that @Copenhagener, must feel disappointing even if you didn't have high hopes. We were going to do IUI first because of my fears of IVF but the doctor didn't rate our chances.

Hope the gap now is filled with good things in other areas of life and you can be starting IVF before you know it.

@Copenhagener I'm so sorry that it hasn't worked. Even when we don't have high hopes I think anyone on this journey secretly hopes deep down they might have a miracle. I hope you can plan some great activities to keep busy and build some memories while you plan for your IVF journey.

@TheBirdintheCave oh my goodness! Everything crossed for you! I'm so nervous to test early after my chemical last transfer. I've been having cramps today which remind me of last time. Even though I know progesterone causes cramps i'm so worried this is it again this cycle and I won't even get to OTD like last time. Hoping I can at least get a bit further.

How is everyone? Any other updates? Xxx

TheBirdintheCave · 18/07/2023 22:45

@charja100 I'm about 90% sure it'll still be the trigger somehow but I'll keep you all posted with tomorrow's test.

I hope the cramps are a good sign for you! I haven't really felt any, just little twinges every now and then.

RunningOnHope · 19/07/2023 06:50

Completely understand the anxiety @charja100 - I'm just dreading that sinking feeling if I start bleeding after a positive test like last time. Really hope we'll have completely different experiences this time though!

This week is already a rollercoaster here. Job interview is Thursday - travelling tomorrow - and found out the other day that I've got a really good chance of getting it. It's a huge thing for us - move across the country, new house, big step up in responsibilities - so I really feel the anxieties and anticipation and nerves and excitement of interviews. It's definitely keeping me away from testing before then (can't cope with any extra feelings!) but also the cortisol and adrenaline can't be great for getting pregnant...! 😬

charja100 · 19/07/2023 07:05

@RunningOnHope I'm hopeful for us both for this round. Odds are we won't have the same outcome as last time, whichever way it goes. Let's hope it goes our way though! ✨

Ah that wonderful news that's it's going so well. How exciting, hope it works out for you. I think if you're also happy and positive about the process then it's all balance and the levels of cortisol will balance and shouldn't have took much effect.

Cramping has eased off this morning but I had the most vivid dreams last night / early this morning. Anyone every had that as a symptom? The TWW is so hard but at the moment I'm still happy being in my PUPO bubble this round.

RunningOnHope · 19/07/2023 07:06

I did too the other night @charja100 - vivid enough that I could still describe it all at breakfast the next day which is very unusual for me! Nothing last night though 😅

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 19/07/2023 07:32

@charja100 Yes, ever since I started the Lutigest. They're like crazy soap operas 😂

@RunningOnHope I really hope you get the job! It sounds like an incredible opportunity! What sector do you work in?

Lines are still there for me this morning (Easy@Home and ClearBlue) but I'm still cautious about believing it. 11.5 days since trigger today.

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 07:00

Well I'm now 6dp5dt and the line on the Easy@Home hasn't darkened from yesterday (even a little) so unfortunately it looks like a chemical pregnancy :( At this point I'm just hoping it's not an ectopic. Which, to be fair after two MMCs in a row, would be just my luck.

RunningOnHope · 20/07/2023 07:17

@TheBirdintheCave it's so so so early to be seeing things like darkening lines... I know it must feel really hard to wait and see, but there's no other way. Could you manage to leave it a couple of days in between a test so it's more likely to have a change either way?

OP posts:
charja100 · 20/07/2023 07:54

@TheBirdintheCave most people don't get a line on a test until around 7dp5dt ( I know because I've read every thread going, whilst resisting the urge to test myself.

@RunningOnHope advice is good. If you want to see progression it's best to compare tests from every other day especially this early on. I'd leave it a couple of days before you test again if you can.

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 08:04

The problem is that I'm comparing it to my last pregnancy where I had perfect progression. I had a faint positive at 10dpo and then a line I could easily photograph at 11dpo (admittedly that pregnancy didn't work out either but it was fine at the beginning).

Today is the equivalent of 11dpo so I was expecting at least something I could photograph.

I've had a late implanter with slow release of HCG before and that was a blighted ovum MMC.

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 09:27

I'm sorry guys. I've calmed down a bit now and am going to try and stop freaking myself out.

KG96 · 20/07/2023 16:10

@TheBirdintheCave try not to worry too much, my first pregnancy had a really decent line at 14dpo but this time is was quite faint so I was convinced it was going to be a chemical or not viable, but, although my blood result was lower it was still a strong result. It took a while for the line to darken but about a week later I took another test and it was really dark. Now I’m hoping it’s all still going well as i was
8 weeks yesterday. This pregnancy feels quite different to last time but was all good at 7 weeks. I’m still paranoid I’m going to lose it again 😩

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 16:36

@KG96 I remember that feeling. It's so hard to be pregnant again after a loss as you just second guess every twinge. Do you have another scan lined up soon?

KG96 · 20/07/2023 17:19

@TheBirdintheCave yes next Thursday I’ve got a 9 week scan, I’m excited and scared all at the same time

WholeZebra · 20/07/2023 17:45

@KG96 I can relate to that, I feel so worried all the time - over analysing little twinges and thinking that it’s all over. We’re 5 weeks today and don’t get our first scan until 7+5. It’s going to be a long two weeks wait :(.

KG96 · 20/07/2023 19:53

@WholeZebra this for me is the worst part (although technically the only part I’ve ever known 🤣) but just waiting to find out if the line on the test actually equates to a viable pregnancy is so scary. What was your blood result?

WholeZebra · 20/07/2023 20:04

@KG96 my clinic doesn’t do them as routine because they said it’s pointless unless you keep doing the follow ups. If there’s any reason to think it’s not viable they’ll do one then. I might do one at work though just because I’m interested. I just found one last test in my cupboard so took it - and it was a really dark dye stealer, so feeling pretty good at the moment :’).
