@CR7 Thank you xx

@lemons44 Thank you xx I'm back at work today. It's been chaos at work recently. but it's something of an organised chaos haha. I'm not going to push myself today.

@Wish1 welcome to the board! xx I don't have PCOS, but I was high risk for OHSS due to high AMH. The higher the AMH, generally the higher the risk for (severe) OHSS. In my case, I got 7 good embryos, but 5 out of the 7 were good enough to freeze and I couldn't go for a fresh transfer because my risk of OHSS was high enough that I could have ended up in hospital. This means sadly 2 embryos that were fine for a fresh transfer were destroyed.

The first of the 5 frozen embryos was transferred in March, but that failed. I just had the second embryo transferred yesterday, so today is 1dpt (1 day post-transfer) and hopefully this one works. My pregnancy test is on 20th June.

Wish1 · 09/06/2023 12:52

@SarahShorty So excited for you and keeping everything crossed.
I had high AMH levels too apparently within range is up to 16 but mine was extremely high.
I was told the medication they give for stims would take this in to consideration and would help to manage the risk of OHSS.
I’ll probably find out nearer the time whether I can have any fresh or frozen transfers.

Look after yourself and hope the wait isn’t too hard, I’ve read the TWW thread and it seems like it’s a very hard two week wait.

xx

Hello all, just wanted to give an update.

I wasn't initially very happy with the changes to my protocol as I didn't think they were changing it enough so pushed for my consultant to get a second opinion. I'm happier with it now.

I will be moved on to short protocol (I was on long protocol before). They are adding LH hormones, increasing my stims from 150 to 225 (ovitrelle) and changing me from a single trigger to a double trigger shot.

I'm really hoping that this complete shake up will give me better results as 10 of my eggs were immature and unusable last time.

Has anybody had LH before?

I'm am wondering if this may really help me because when we were trying naturally, I used to take those cheapy ovulation strips. I very rarely would get a positive one despite peeing on them religiously! And they measure LH surge I think? So perhaps my body doesn't release much LH on its own.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

Xx

Hi everyone - so sorry to have been off the radar for a couple of weeks. I've been finding it all a bit hard to engage with, and having had the interview for that dream job, I didn't get it. So feels like it's been a really rough month or so!

I've now had a follow up for the first round - doctor recommended that if we do have to go back to egg collection at some point we use a different donor, as there seems to have been compatibility issues which might have caused the low fertilisation rates. She'd also suggest higher stems next time - the IVF Lite protocol meant they were low.

Anyway, we've now done consents and paid for FET, and have a phone call for booking in next week. Unfortunately I think it likely that my period will come between now and then which means we'll have to wait til July, which is a right pain - we get into holiday season, and probably more job interviews then too. Still, it is what it is, and we'll have to try to make it work.

So sorry your timings might not work for this month xx

Excellent news that you pushed for what you want and deserve. All sounds like good changes to me xx

SarahShorty · 13/06/2023 15:08

How are you

So pleased it's all going well so far. How have you been feeling with it, are you nauseous and exhausted?!

OP posts:
CR7 · 13/06/2023 15:17

@RunningOnHope no sickness or nausea whatsoever. Drugs are kicking my ass as I'm in them til 12 weeks and if you remember I'm on a lot.

Morning
pessary
Steroids 20mg
Inhixia injection
Oestrogen 2 tablets

Evening
Progesterone injection (lubion)
Pessary

Every other day -
3 100mg oestrogen patches

Quite tired and hungry in the night but no other symptoms. The hunger in the night started during the TWW but other than that I was and am symptomless xx

Hopefully you will be able to stay strong and hopeful and not test xxx

lemons44 · 16/06/2023 12:18

@RunningOnHope I'm so sorry you didn't get the job ☹️ that is such rubbish news as I know you really wanted it!

That's exciting that things are moving forwards with your FET. I've been told I'm going to be booked in for August egg collection so think I'm starting norethisterone next month. Has anybody use this before? I have my meeting with the nurses in 2 weeks to talk though my new treatment plan. Just so so so so hoping i respond better on this new protocol.

@CR7 hope you're scan went well today!

Keeping everything crossed for you @SarahShorty 💗

lemons44 · 16/06/2023 12:21

@Triselly just want to say I hope you're doing ok and hope youre feeling physically back to normal again 💗 x

SarahShorty · 16/06/2023 13:59

@CR7 @lemons44 thank you ladies xx Hopefully this is the one.

RunningOnHope · 16/06/2023 15:41

@lemons44 thank you, I'm recovering from the sadness and looking at next applications. It's just so much effort. Potentially next interview in the second half of July.

Had a phone call from my clinic today and they're ready for me to do FET this cycle. I'm due to start my period any time, so I call them when I start and we go from there. I don't really know the process though - can anyone walk me through it?! She mentioned I'd need to start estrogen on day 2 but I don't know what that would involve or what else is involved.

Hello
Lovely xx

I would imagine oestrogen patches. I am also still on oestrogen patches. They come in different doses. You stick them on your bottom and change them every few days. I wear three every other day. This is a lot though. Make sure you ask them to be really clear about when you change them. I recorded everything on my phone so I could re listen. If it's oestrogen tablets either are teeny tiny and usually 2mg per tablet. I take two a day.

This is only my experience xx

Baby oil on a cotton wool will get rid of residue. I looked like a crossword puzzle for a long time. You can also put them in your low stomach but ass is easier xx

CR7 · 16/06/2023 15:50

So I went for my NIPT today. I'll attach what I went for. It also came with a reassurance scan which was brilliant and as I'm over ten weeks we heard the heart beat which was amazing.

I went private for NIPT because nhs do it at 16 weeks and I'm not willing to wait. I also had extra things tested for. Result take seven working days from when the sample reaches the lab.

I am very aware that NIPT is not for everyone but it's right for me xx

@CR7 So glad all is going well! :)

We had our nurse consent appointment today. Period is due next Fri/Sat unless we screwed up as we got a bit carried away one night on holiday 🙄

Fingers crossed it shows up on time and then it's only a few weeks until transfer!

Triselly · 16/06/2023 19:22

Hi guys ❤️ hope you are all good.

@lemons44 thank you, I’m alright. The little stitches are still healing but I’m feeling much better now, and my hcg levels are just today down to non-pregnant levels. Like you, we’re booked in for round 2 in August, as long as everything goes to plan. How are you doing?

@RunningOnHope I’m so sorry about your application! That is so crushing, especially after a very difficult few weeks. Hope that you and your wife and family can go do something nice to treat yourselves and take your mind off recent stresses.

@CR7 so glad to hear that everything is progressing well for you! I think it’s a great idea if you have the option to go for all the private tests and scans. Are you going to find out the sex as well?

@SarahShorty hope you are feeling alright xx What day are you on now?

@TheBirdintheCave do you have a date for your transfer? This time seems to be going so fast!

xxx

RunningOnHope · 16/06/2023 19:39

@lemons44 I've been on norethisterone before my first round, no trouble except I was glad I googled the withdrawal bleed because I had like really really bad period pain but just for a couple of hours, then passed a massive clot and was fine again. I had read that can happen so wasn't alarmed but would have been otherwise!

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 16/06/2023 20:04

@Triselly So glad you're healing well :)

No date as yet, at least another month of waiting to go I think.

SarahShorty · 16/06/2023 20:43

@Triselly thank you xx I'm 8dpt. I haven't tested because I can't face it. My OTD is Tuesday 20th June. I hope you're doing okay xx

SarahShorty · 18/06/2023 08:57

I'm 10dpt today. I tested. BFN. So it's looking like a second failed transfer and £2500 spaffed up the wall. With the first transfer I got a faint positive on the test day, just that the HcG was very low and not increasing, so to have a BFN now means that it's failed to even implant this time. I have 3 embryos left in the freezer. It's also Father's Day today and that's far from ideal. Nevermind, eh? I hope everyone is okay xx
