New thread for those of us now trying for the first babies of 2024, may we all be lucky this month!

I'm CD1 today of cycle 6 ttc my second.
Had a chemical at the end of February and lots of illness in March so revved up to give this month all I've got!

@Sez281 AF showed this morning two days late so moving on to the next month

Sez281 · 19/08/2023 14:20

Sorry to hear that @Annie1295, I know it's so disheartening especially when you were a couple of days late πŸ˜” Fingers crossed for next cycle for you πŸ™

Annie1295 · 19/08/2023 19:20

@Sez281 thank you! Hope this cycle works out for you too!

Babyhopeful23 · 19/08/2023 22:18

We are all still together on this journey so far! @Annie1295 sorry to hear your onto another cycle but I hope it’s the lucky one.
@Sez281 best of luck BD! I am also heading into fertile window, giving SMEP another go.
we’ve been on a health kick since our negative last cycle. No alcohol for my husband and I and we have both been eating healthy and exercising. It’s a lot of pressure but we have to give it our all and see if it helps.

Sez281 · 20/08/2023 10:10

@Babyhopeful23 wow you're really throwing the kitchen sink at it, fair play to you! Fingers crossed it'll all pay off 🀞 The only thing I'm doing differently this cycle is cutting way back on coffee, not just because I'm ttc but in general I drink waaay too much (5 cups a day) so I've cut down to 2. I'm also halfway through a packet of proceive max. I know it probably takes a few months to take affect but I do feel weirdly like it's already doing something. So if nothing else my general health is improving πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

Annie1295 · 21/08/2023 15:12

@Babyhopeful23 we're going to try SMEP this cycle. My fertile window next cycle falls when we've got family staying with us so won't be able to DTD too much so I wanna throw everything at it this month. Also started to look at food and trying to eat healthier. Hopefully it'll make a difference for both of us!

Babyhopeful23 · 22/08/2023 04:26

@Sez281 thats great! Small changes without making our lives too restrictive. I also am religiously taking the conception vitamins, and now my hubby got the mens ones this month.
@Annie1295 best of luck with SMEP, this is our second cycle trying it. It’s tiring but hopefully it works, if not I don’t think I’ll be giving it another go πŸ˜‚
I’m heading into fertile window in 3 days. Fingers crossed for us all

Hi

wondering if anyone can help me read my chart? i have erratic cycles. Would you say i have ovulated this cycle? (was super sick early cycle so hence missing temperatures!)

Didn't do OPKs as i find it so stressful as i never get clear peak!

@Optimistic66 did your temperature stay high?

First day of SMEP today. Bit daunting to think about the next week and a half but determined to give it a full go

Good luck with SMEP!!!

@Annie1295 No it didnt, it dropped down yesterday, but then shot back up today! So think its another anovulatory cycle in a row.

Bit gutted - epsc when i have long cycles - just feels like it never happening for me.

Annie1295 · 25/08/2023 14:27

@Optimistic66 you never know I guess maybe something else caused your temp to drop?

Sez281 · 25/08/2023 15:18

@Annie1295 good luck with SMEP 🀞@Babyhopeful23 how are you getting on? I should have listened to my body and not the predicted date on my app. I got massive peak yesterday so today is O day 3 days earlier than I thought. Kind of raging we didn't dtd one of the earlier days in the window but i do think we covered all the bases so going to try not going to stress. I've been so crampy today, hoping it's a good sign of ovulation and not my endo and fibroids acting up πŸ₯΄ On to the tww now!

Babyhopeful23 · 25/08/2023 18:21

@Annie1295 best of luck heading into a busy few days πŸ˜‰ We ended up not being able to DTD on my day of peak. Hubby was exhausted, and I don’t think he has ever turned down sex.
@Sez281 we are both almost at the same stage!! I hit peak on Wednesday morning. Like I said above couldn’t DTD that day but we did the day previous and the day after and we will again today. Hopefully that will cover us!
hope those pains are the good pains! And a little egg is released. Best of luck

Annie1295 · 25/08/2023 20:43

@Babyhopeful23 good luck!! Hope this cycle works out for you. I'm already thinking we might not make one of the three predicted OPK days work as I'm on an all day off site work thing which means I'll have to leave around 6am and won't be back before midnight. DH is determined to get up early and DTD but we'll see how we go. Two should hopefully give enough coverage though

moosey89 · 26/08/2023 08:20

Woohoo first static smiley since MMC in July so ovulation is coming! Sad news is my other half is completely under the weather, so we didn't try yesterday because I felt too mean to make him! We'll do today/tomorrow and hope for the best, definitely not expecting to catch first time but if you don't try then there's zero chance!

Annie1295 · 26/08/2023 09:42

@moosey89 good luck!!! You never know there's always a chance

Annie1295 · 27/08/2023 12:06

Had two days of flashing smileys on clearblue advanced OPKs so hopefully the static one isn't too far away and SMEP won't turn out to be too strenuous

moosey89 · 27/08/2023 12:37

@Annie1295 good luck! Hopefully just a couple more days 😁
And thank you - got to be in it to win it as they say!

Savvy21 · 28/08/2023 11:09

@randomlymegan welcome and baby dust to you.

Question for you lovely ladies. I'm using clearblue opks and took a test last Wednesday and got a flashing smiley. Then a static on Thursday but the test looked flooded .... taken another one today as clearblue takes 3 days to reset or something and it's back to negative. Has anyone used clear blue and got a static smiley on a flooded test. Was it right or did it read it wrong? I think I should ditch these expensive tests and get the cheap amazon ones!

moosey89 · 28/08/2023 12:54

@Savvy21 if you're using a new test stick (the bit you keep, not the strips you throw away) then I believe it always shows a circle for the first day as it's checking your baseline x

Savvy21 · 28/08/2023 13:43

@moosey89 no not a new test stick using the same pack as went from flashing to static really quickly. Also on checking the stick, the 2nd line was quite faint although I know you shouldn't look at the stick haha.

Annie1295 · 28/08/2023 16:59

@Savvy21 what do you mean by "flooded" ? I've been using clearblue for a good while now and never had an issue with a clear result. Never looked at the test strip though so don't really know what it's supposed to look like

Savvy21 · 28/08/2023 17:59

@Annie1295 when I looked at the test strip, the blue dye looked to have run all across the front of the test. Usually it has just two lines where one is darker than the other.

Annie1295 · 28/08/2023 23:20

@Savvy21 ah okay I didn't even know that was possible. Ive had error codes before though when I dipped them for too long or too short so I always assumed if the result comes up it should be usable

Savvy21 · 29/08/2023 07:28

@Annie1295 ah OK thanks - will have to wait and see I guess. Have you got your static smiley yet?
