New thread for those of us now trying for the first babies of 2024, may we all be lucky this month!

I'm CD1 today of cycle 6 ttc my second.
Had a chemical at the end of February and lots of illness in March so revved up to give this month all I've got!

Saw the gynae today she was super lovely. Basically said keep trying and next time we have a BFP she's giving me everything even if I get a positive before she's had any results she said taking them won't hurt. Steroids for my high thyroid antibodies, progesterone and aspirin and potentially blood thinners and thyroxine. I've got some blood tests to do tomorrow and I see her in around 10 days to go through the results see if they flag anything up other than my thyroid. She did say likely my nk cells are high because I have antibodies so the steroids would treat that too. She's prescribed me a higher dose of folic acid to keep taking now too. So now we just keep trying. I took a test today and it's a vvfl so hopefully by next weds the 3 week mark it will be completely negative 🤞🏼 I've had the startings of some stretchy looking CM but we probably won't actively try too hard until AF has showed

So think I've mucked up this month with doing the clear blues not in the morning, didn't ever get a peak solid smiley. I checked yesterday with the Premom and the cheapey strips and it was just really low readings the T/C was 0.15. So I guess either I ovulated early and had a really short LH surge or I didn't ovulate at all 🤔 but I did get flashing smileys for 3 days in a row so maybe I did or maybe my LH surge is very low. Not sure but feel like this month isn't the month! Hopefully will be better prepared and know what I'm doing more next month 😅

@Silverpixieflorence i never got on with the clear blue ones plus they are so expensive I didn’t test twice a day and I think it’s helpful to test twice a day until you’re a bit more familiar with your cycle. I have quite a quick LH surge it seems. I don’t think I managed to catch it until a few months in. I personally test once a day with strips from about day 10. Ovulation for me tends to be around day 16 so from about day 14 I test twice a day. With the strips I tend to find I usually get a positive test in the afternoon so I usually test at around 11am and 3pm. I use the pre mom app which I’ve found so helpful. If you’ve not got a positive yet the most likely thing is you missed it rather than it not happening. Also one month I was convinced I’d missed it but I kept testing and then I randomly got a positive on day 21. What day of your cycle are you on now?

@Bluebell0921 oh that's interesting so when you say yours is short too how short is it? I think I'll do the same next month and just try the cheap strips with Premom to see if I can work out like you did. It's a bit of a learning curve isn't it 😅 I'm on CD16 now and hoping I just missed it. I'm so so bloated at the moment so not sure if that's a sign of anything

@Silverpixieflorence i reckon less than 12 hours! Mine doesn’t seem to gradually peak either. It’ll be low one day. Peak next day. Low the following day. How long is your cycle? You could’ve just not ovulated yet either. It’s deffo a learning curve. Took me a few months to work it out. I spent so much money in the beginning on those expensive clear blue ones 😅

im dropping a quick message as NObody else to tell at the moment. But I had given up testing for BFP Early
i have STRONG boob pain tonight although period is due tomorrow or next day and I just want to put out some positive affirmation I guess 🙈 you never know

I’m TTC month 809 or something so I know this is a dream now to fall naturally until I start my treatment but Ive been told to call as soon as AF arrives to get my next appointment booked so worth 24hr of “what if”

id love to be the story that “got pregnant” just before the got ivf haha

Fingers crossed for you , I know a few mums who got pregnant naturally just before they were due to start IVF xx

@lottieb92 oh I hope you get your BFP 🙌🤞🏻🤞🏻 got my AF, had promised I wouldn't test early but of course I gave in was testing all last week 😂 xx

@lottieb92 I'm still here!! Just finished AF so I'm on cycle 5, on holiday for O this month so my temp is going to be all over the place but of course I packed some OPK just to double check 🤣

No AF today but as I have deleted all my apps I think I’m bang on CD30 which is my average and she’s meant to be here tomorrow.

im off out to buy any tests I can find… if it’s negative today I’ll have my answer I feel and I can go and book in for my tube tests ☺️ So either way it is a positive outcome for the day it’s a step closer to a baby!

I'm 8dpo now the cycle after Hycosy(when supposedly chance of bfp increases) and the wait is so hard 😣If it doesn't work in next couple of months then will also be going down ivf route

and negative test - due tomorrow… kind of knew it and the pain in boobs must be period 😣

ive just booked my HyCoSy! Was it painful?! I’ve heard Mixed reviews
mine is next week 20th! 😖

Sorry to hear that @lottieb92 . They do always say you don’t know until period comes, will keep fingers crossed for you!

id say there is a lot of talk about it being so painful, and while I would say it was uncomfortable it really wasn’t that bad. Had a nap after when got home, a bit of a weird cycle after with spotting and such. But if it does increase fertility then 100% worth it and would do it again if needed. You’ll be totally fine 😊

but my period is now officially … late! Because I never usually come on this time of day!

Technically only 8 hrs so i won’t start flapping
But how typical when I want her to show so my HyCoSy can go ahead 😖

Can I join this thread? Currently waiting for my first period after MMC at the end of May and both DH and I are keen to start trying again. I took us 8 months the first time but hopeful that it will happen sooner and we'll have a 2024 baby!

if it doesn’t come today or tomorrow I will have to call the clinic and see what I can do.

haven’t been late in almost 2 years of trying and the time I need these dates to be spot on she plays me.
I took a ovulation test as well so I am shocked it hasn’t turned up! I would be 14DPO now!?

@Annie1295 welcome, I had a MMC the end of may too. I’m so sorry you’ve just gone through this too. Such a hard time. I’ve been struggling a lot. Let’s hope all goes well in the future. Xx

Updating I had 2 faint line cheap tests
then period 2 days late. Frustrating.

think this might have been chemical but not dwelling on it as HyCoSy tomorrow and I am SO nervous
I can’t remember whose asked if I can keep informed sorry! Been a hectic week…

@Angelselevenx you haven't lovely I haven't updated it's all been a bit crazy 🙈 I had my private ultrasound they've left some tissue in there 🙄 and got my blood test results which all in all amount to I have two separate auto immune issues and blood clotting issue which could all contribute to the MC's. So going forward I'm just waiting for AF which hopefully should be weds/Thurs after that I have to go back for a scan to check the tissue has gone 🤞🏼 and then we can get on TTC. She's prescribed me steroids, blood thinners and progesterone so they are ready to start taking at next positive. My Vit D is on the lower end of ok so I've upped that and I'm on a higher dose of folic acid too.

@bringmearainbow oh no hun what a nightmare, glad you've been checked out though and got a way forward. Are what you've been prescribed going to help with the auto immune side as well? Hope you're feeling okay!

I'm on CD15 today, O will be CD20 I think DTD this morning and then going to try for Wednesday/Thursday and then Friday/Saturday and that should cover me hopefully. I'm on cycle 5 now though and the CP was cycle 2 which feels crazy xxx
