TWW Buddies - testing end of march

Hello! Looking for TWW buddies. I’m 2dpo today. It’s been a long haul for us - trying since Jan 2022 and never had a BFP in all that time. We have an appointment with the assisted conception unit on the 29th and I’m due my period on the 27th. I’m usually a terrible POAS addict and start testing at 8DPO but I’m determined to wait until 14DPO this cycle. I’m hoping that I won’t be too disappointed if it’s another BFN seeing as we have the fertility appointment right after. Wishing everyone lots of luck and baby dust!

@NarnieJoy I’m 8dpo today too! Hope you’re feeling better from the vid! This was my first month using the opks and did the same, with the IC and CB. Will you be testing early or waiting to see if AF arrives?

Feeling a bit tired but not much more than usual and otherwise no symptoms at all. Then again cycle 1 I had them all and got a bfn, cycle 2 I had none and a bfn so who knows what will happen for the real deal.

I just had another flashy smile on my CB today...... when oh when will the solid smile come??I'm just still going for it as I think the flashy smile still indicates fertility!xx

@ElleJones1 as soon as it starts flashing, it means that oestrogen is rising and you are nearing ovulation. You need to have sex before ovulation occurs, so that the sperm is up there waiting for the egg.

So my advice would be to dtd as soon as you get the flashing smiley and to try to dtd at least every other day until you get the static. The static is the best time to have sex as you will be releasing the egg in the next 12-36 hours, so the day of static and the day after if you can is good.

Me and DH also do an "insurance bonk" a couple of days after ovulation just in case for some reason there was a delay with the egg. I think I had one month where I tried to ovulate and must have failed (flashing smileys but didn't get solid smiley but lots of ewcm) then got more ewcm about a week later. As my period was a week late, I must have ovulated with the second lot of ewcm and we missed out that month, as I thought that I'd ovulated the first time, as that was my usual ovulation date, we'd dtd, then relaxed afterwards and with work we didn't dtd again for over a week, by which time I'd missed the actual ovulation and so didn't get pregnant that month. Stupidly I'd been googling the second lot of ewcm thinking that it could be a sign of implantation/pregnancy!

You may also never get a solid if you have a very short peak in LH and your clearblue tester misses it. So again, just dtd every day or two as soon as you get the flashing smiley to keep yourself covered. I've had months where I've never gotten a solid, even after 11 days, but I know that I've ovulated as my cervical mucus changes from ewcm to thick and sticky

I hope that this helps, sorry for the long post!

@Pitstop1986 thank you so much!! I really appreciate your post and reply!
I'm just going to keep going to make sure I don't miss it. We've been aiming for every day just to ensure it! I definitely had the EWCM two days ago so I made sure that night we DTD..... and I'll keep going with it and hope for the best. Maybe I'll give up with the testing as I'm aiming to DTD every day anyway! xx

@StrongBrew I caved and tested last night 🤦‍♀️ bfn which isn’t surprising at 8dpo with lots of water drink!

@NarnieJoy still very early, def try and hold out another few days!

@ElleJones1 I agree with pitstop, what we do is try to time is over the expected ovulation times, so 5 days in a row - 3 before, day of ov and day after, but then like people have said sometimes it can be delayed for whatever reason. But after 5 days of DTD in a row we need a break and go back to our usual every 2 days.... 😂OPK's are difficult to master and those with high quick peaks like myself often only catch part of the peak, which is why i also BBT as the sustained temp shift indicates ovulation.... works well for me, with my limited experience!

I'm 5 dpo today and i'm drowning in CM (TMI) this is what happened in early pregnancy last time, but i'm really far too early to have symptoms so no idea! just did a google and lots of people saying loads of CM after OV lead to BFP but we shall see.... still AAAAGGGEEESSS to wait until i'm testing, not until next weekend....

@NarnieJoy still very early, I'd wait until at least 10dpo to test, but even then you could get a false negative if implantation was late!

@suz2285 ooh it'll be interesting to hear your symptoms over the next week or so!

StrongBrew · 17/03/2023 10:49

@NarnieJoy Oh no! Definitely still very early days though! I’m trying to hold off as long as I can but the temptation is strong.

@ElleJones1 I think it’s a good sign that you’re getting the flashing smileys. The first day I used the CB I got a solid and went into panic mode that I’d miss it.

@suz2285 fx for you!

Doesn’t time just stop in the tww.

Hey everyone!

I’m around the same point, I’m 3 DPO on cycle 3 TTC #1!

We’ve used OPKs this cycle and last and also used the Ferti-Lily this month.

I ovulated late on CD20 because I was ill last week which is making this cycle feel super long already 🥲

Baby dust to you all! ✨

Hi team, hope you're all doing ok and the wait isn't too stressful. Can I ask your opinion - I had decided it hadn't happened and took a test at 11.30am to see if I could have a glass of wine tonight (period is due tomorrow). And I think I can see a faint line?! I'm trying for #1 so don't have any experience with this, what do you think?
I'm 9dpo and don't have many other real symptoms, just ewcm, tired and have been feeling very mildly nauseous for the past few days. But nothing that feels that different from normal. I think I'll skip the wine and try again first thing tomorrow. Would you start feeling excited if you saw this or do I need to calm down 😹 ?

@Lottie3665 I can definitely see something! Also, as you didn’t use FMU then that could have maybe produced a stronger line? If I was you I wouldn’t have the wine tonight and maybe get a CB digital early test and take it in the next couple of days? I cracked and tested too (ridiculous I know as I think I’m only 6/7 dpo!) but it’s so hard to have the willpower not to! Obviously got a negative, didn’t really expect anything else! Sending lots of luck your way!

suz2285 · 19/03/2023 12:17

@Lottie3665 that looks positive to me! Don't be drinking that wine... I reckon if you test FMU in the morning it'll likely be stronger again. But that looks a strong line for 9dpo!

@Bluenigellas good plan re the digital test 👍 thanks for the confidence and luck! I think I did one on about 6 dpo too, I don't know how anyone has the restraint not to. Hoping yours come through in the next little while.

@suz2285 that's really good to hear a 2nd opinion, thank you 😊 my partner has gone away for the weekend so I'm just sitting here on my own with no one to talk to. Good luck to you, hope we both have something more definite soon

@Lottie3665 did you do the test?? It certainly looks like a very faint positive to me :)

I think I’ll be out this month. AF due on Weds but already starting to get the usual run up to AF feelings. On to cycle 4 I guess!

I’ve got a vvvv faint line on a boots early test. I stupidly did it at 11dpo after having only peed an hour before.

Will test tomorrow with FMU so not letting myself get excited yet.

Had a chemical last month so hopefully for a sticky one with my next bfp! x

@ElleJones1 was the digital an early detection one or just the normal digital? I don’t think they’re as sensitive as FRER’s.

After giving it big talk about waiting til 14DPO I gave in and tested at… 7DPO this morning 😂 trying not to symptom spot but today I suddenly have lots of CM and I don’t have any sore boobs… usually I get sore boobs after ovulation until AF. Will probs test every morning now until AF. I’m a total addict!
