Hi ladies
I've looked for a thread for this but didn't find a recent one so is there anyone who would like to join?
I turned 40 in December. I have 3 older children, got married in November and my new DH and I have decided to try for a baby together. He is 49 this month.
Very concerned that our ages will be against us! We don't want to go down the road of fertility help and will probably only give it this year to see if it's meant to be! I was previously adamant I didn't want anymore babies but slowly changed my mind and now I would love one more!
I'm currently waiting for the return of AF following the depo contraceptive before I begin tracking ovulation..which I've never done before!
So that's my story in a nutshell.
Anyone else 40+ who would like to form a support group with me?

I'd definitely like to join. It's such an anxiety inducing thing to be trying to create a new life and not knowing the journey. I am 43 so definitely need some support.

We’re on our last try now. New drugs, Gonal F this time, was £400 just for that injection. Plus the other meds and supplements. We can’t justify spending this each month when the odds are so low. Keeping everything crossed but know we’re already so lucky as we have 2 boys already. What will be will be now!
also been told to not run or do too much exercise in the next couple of weeks - that’s going to be hard!

Edited

Is that via IVF?

Hi I’m 42 and I’ve had a MMC and TFMR after a trisomy 21 positive screening at 12 weeks in the past year. Hoping the next one will stick.

Wishing you luck on your journey

Hiya. I’d like to join please.
just turned 43 and being trying since I was 41.
cycle 18 and not a single positive test. Regular periods and a 21 day hormone check that came back ‘normal’.
Feeling disheartened tbh.
DH is 45
2 children conceived very quickly in mid/late 30s and 1 miscarriage between them (also conceived 1st month of trying.)
we have 1st NHS fertility appointment in a couple of weeks and I’m feeling so nervous about it.

I am also 43 but before I start TTC they found polyps so I am not sure how that could affect things. I guess we ladies have to keep remembering there is a chance - it's about 25% per year I think?

Can I Join? 41 and TTC#1 with my partner, he's 44 and has a 10yo from a previous relationship. I'm in the dreaded TWW, we DTD up to and including my fertile week and OV was 6/1. I know it's naïve to think it'll happen 1st cycle but we did everything at the right time!

Trying not to symptom spot... trying 😂

Hariboislife · 09/01/2024 10:41

No we didn’t go as far as ivf, with the success rate at my age and the fact we had 2 children already (without issue) we couldn’t justify the cost

Hi all. I hope you’re all doing ok.
So, hubby and I have been to the hospital various times and for all the tests and finally had the results.
ive been told I have quite a few eggs left, especially for my age!
hubby’s swimmers are all good, (slight issue with morphology but consultant said it shouldn’t be a problem)
im ovulating on my own, weight is fine (both)
It’s great news but still so frustrating that 25 months of trying have led to no positive pregnancy tests.
😫
I have to book in for an X-ray that tells me if my tubes are blocked. Has anyone had this?

thanks x
