Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.

Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

@Jennifer89 no it lasted about 4 to 5 days very light brown and light pink though never red and mainly when I wiped. I assumed it was implantation bleeding but I couldn't have been something else. At that time I didn't spot before AF x

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 4-5 days of light bleeding is literally what I get before my period just to make it confusing 😅

@Floralsandsmiles thoughts & hugs to you too my lovely. How are you getting on? CD5 so you’ll be starting O testing maybe end of the week?
Sat waiting for the dreaded AF to arrive, my app says tomorrow but could be a couple of days later as my cycles are between 26-28 days. Just want to get going again now! I’m slightly gutted as OH is away over prime ovulation time, we will be able to catch the first couple of days of my fertile window but not the most important days like surge day/ovulation day. Think that’s why my bfn hit so hard this month, I know we can’t give it our best shot this next cycle. App says this cycle my due date would be 27th December so I’m still in the correct thread x

Aww thank you! I'm OK thank you, happy to get started soon, using that positivity to hopefully swing me a BFP. (Well trying to anyways). The positivity comes in swings and roundabouts. Haha
Yep CD5, so will start testing end of the week and excited for it. If we fall this cycle, I will be due on Xmas eve! So I really hope this cycle works as that would be magical. But hey ho, all we can do it pray.
Aww darling, the first few days in the fertile window is just as good! Means they will be there ready and waiting! 😊 I'm hoping this is your month too, I'm saying prayers for you also @MilkyAndFluffy xxxx

@Jennifer89 yes that's normally me but CD26 today and nothing so far. Also CB digital said 2 to 3 weeks on 12DPO which is apparently 4 to 5 weeks pregnant my app only said 3 weeks 4 days.

I've always counted from first day of full blood but now wondering how accurate that is when your spotting x

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 @Jennifer89 i have the exact same thing with spotting. Until we started TTC I was logging it as start of cycle, how wrong I was! But still makes it tricky to accurately identify AF day 1. Glad we have OPKs and BBT to work out what’s going on in there!

@Sierra26 glad it's not just me who gets this..
Like you say does make it a but unclear when period cycle has started. I tend to count it as starting from first day of heavy blead but have seen online first day of period can be light so who knows 🤔

@Sierra26 and @Jennifer89 it is lucky for the OPKs. I also used the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor and did SMEP this month so not sure if either or both things helped I think probs SMEP more as the monitor and the cheap strips showed the peak on same day x

Also, I keep on seeing people talk about the SMEP... I've googled it but I'm a bit confused by it tbh... Are you supposed to dtd for 3 days from your peak opk, skip a day and then dtd again? Surely that's too far past ovulation? Or am I just reading into it wrong?
Last month (cp) we dtd 5, 3, day before o and day of o... This month we dtd 4, 3, day before o and day of o... Yesterday was 1dpo and I told my partner we didn't need to yesterday... Maybe we should have? (Obviously too late now anyway haha).
If anyone can shed any light on this I'm really interested as if I don't get my bfp this month I'm defo open to trying something new! Thanks all x

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 will need to give the SMEP a try if my dh can have the energy 😅. This month we managed 3 days before peak on Clear blue, the day of static smiley and 2 days after so hopefully in with a chance..

@HannahLouD I think you dtd every other day from period finishing then 3 days over ovulation so day before day of and day after O 🤔 I have thought about trying it but honestly it makes me tired looking at the schedule 🤣

Ooof, that is a lot 😅😂 we dtd throughout the month every few days and then 4 days before, 3 days before, day before and day of ovulation so hoping that's enough... Annoyed we didn't the day after now but I worked out (due to when my peak ic opk was and also my temp drop/rise) that when we had a chance the day after (night) it would be too late... My cycle has been off this month after my chemical last month so I really don't think my partner would have been able to do much more leading up to it as I o'd much later than expected this month anyway. It's all so consuming!!! x

@HannahLouD that sounds like you have plenty covered 🤞🏼 I'm only on CD8 last 2 ovulations we're CD 20/21 so I might just do a scaled down version on every other day starting end of this week then ramp it up towards end of next week and pray 😂 tbh I think the chances on day after are so slim anyway so I wouldn't worry too much you're plenty covered in the before

After the 3 days of DTD after the peak you also miss a day and then DTD again on SMEP. It is a lot esp if you ovulate later x

@HannahLouD i used countdown to pregnancy calculator to plan mine this month first time trying it…. I ovulate late 🤣 so it’s DTD 8 times for us ….

I get everything up until the dtd after skipping a day... By then it would be far too late? Ah well, anything is worth a try I guess!
I did similar to last month this month and I did get pregnant last month, so here's to hoping for a lucky month again, this time with a sticky one 🤞

@HannahLouD i guess it’s just a “one for luck” Incase egg is hanging around .. but yeh I imagine by then it’s just to cover all basis. I wouldn’t be worried if I missed that last one if I managed three days across ovulation!

DH and I were skipping every day because he was told he had low sperm count, so it’ll be the first time in a long time we have planned every day!

Yeah I think that last day must be if you potentially ovulate 48 after peak and egg lives for 24 hours after maybe. I think if your going to miss one that's the one you could miss x

Thank you for asking this question @HannahLouD ! I was also going to ask it! Thank you for the info @bringmearainbow. I'm assuming you start from the min you finish AF, incase O is early?? I O on CD18 last month! So every other is alot! Lol I'm sure my DH will love this idea and then hate it haha xxxx

@Floralsandsmiles I’m CD4 so we are at the same stage this cycle. I’m expecting to ovulate tues/wed next week, will start OPK this Friday.
If I got my BFP this cycle would be due around 19th December. Never felt like I wanted a December baby but actually feeling it would be quite nice. I would be induced about 39weeks aswell so know it would be a couple of weeks before Christmas in this scenario. The following cycle would be rubbish as my DS2 is 14th jan and I’m 15th, if that was the cycle we conceived would be due like the 12th Jan 😩

Now I'm confused and this has thrown me out? Lol I thought it was every other day aside from every day on peak, O and the day after? @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 xxx

Aww nice! I ovulated on CD18 last month, so am not expecting to ovulate until at least 2 weeks Saturday on CD17 maybe (1st april).its hard not to see when you'd be due isn't it... @Mummyme87 xxx

Interesting to see the website that advises on when to DTD 😅. Those who track ovulation using sticks, how long should you be getting positives? I've had 3 over the course of today

@Floralsandsmiles yes I think you start once AF finishes I've never actually followed the plan and started that early as I usually have ovulation CD20ish but I have had earlier O cycles 🙄 just never know what I'm going to get month to month. I sort of make up my own plan every other day or couple of days in the lead up starting around CD10/11 just incase I have an early one and then try and do a few days over peak. I look out for CM signs to help timing wise. I don't tell DH when I'm peak or anything as don't want to put too much pressure on him. I really have to try and time it well otherwise we both just get too tired with everything else that goes on day to day. Was much easier when we were trying for our first start of lockdown all the time in the world 😂
