@allgoodthings84 I understand- I think men generally can be a bit like that. They don’t think the same way as women all the time.

Ahh those are lovely names. We’re at a bit of a standstill with names. As we don’t know the gender we have lists for both. So far we can only agree on 1 girls name and 2 boys name so not really got much to choose from. I don’t like his names and vice versa. My family are originally from Spain, so our names are Spanish which is something I insisted on, so it really is slim pickings 😂😂😂😂 I don’t know what to do. I’m hoping the name is clear when the baby comes 💓💙

@allgoodthings84 Lovely names 😊 Yes hoping we won't have to stay in long this time. Last time DS had a tongue tie and didn't take anything for over 24hours which made him really poorly.
@NSx We had 1 girls and 2 boys names picked out last time. Apparently we said Hello . . . (Each of the boys names) and he carried on crying and then I said 'Hello . . . ' (completely different name to any discussed) and he stopped crying. DH liked the name and said DS had picked it himself so that was that 😂🤣

allgoodthings84 · 22/04/2023 09:11

@NSx thats lovely you want a Spanish name! It will be beautiful. My mum changed my name when I was born so I think seeing the baby does have an effect

HoneyPea · 22/04/2023 09:11

@NSx We also tried a baby name tinder app where you say if you like the name or not and it comes up with matches. Don't think we found any matches before we got bored and deleted it though 🤦‍♀️🤣😂

NSx · 23/04/2023 09:38

@HoneyPea I didn’t even know there was such a thing as baby tinder 😂💓
names are such a hard thing. I think we just need to wait and see what we feel at the time, but we have ideas-ish however I know what I DON’T like more than what I do 😂
@allgoodthings84 I think you can choose a name and then when the baby is born they might not particularly look like that name, so it is something to consider. You have such a wide choice so I think you’ll be fine 😂💕

@NSx @allgoodthings84 After our 20wk scan I came home and tried to find DSs info but instead I found his birth info. I thought he was born at 39weeks exactly and that's what I told the midwife but it says 38wks on his paperwork 🤦‍♀️ Do you think this will make any difference?

allgoodthings84 · 25/04/2023 13:49

@HoneyPea did he come naturally at 38 weeks? If it was a natural not induction or planned c section then it may make a difference as they may want to monitor near the end in case they need to bring your c section forward. It’s probably ok to tell her at the 24/25 weeks appointment though.

My daughter was 8 days late so they know the chances are that this one won’t come before 39 weeks. They know all babies are different but they may want to monitor if they asked. They will have it on record when he came though anyway. When I had my consultants meeting (which you have to have before they will book you in to get a date for a c section) she knew exactly all of the details of my daughters birth already as they have it all on file.

HoneyPea · 25/04/2023 14:05

@allgoodthings84 Thank you for the reassurance. No he was an emergency C-section, started with contractions but he was breach and then while they were monitoring him his heart stopped for a few seconds (turns out cord was around his neck when he was born!)

allgoodthings84 · 25/04/2023 14:31

@HoneyPea ahhh but your labour started naturally I meant. So he was coming early by himself rather than planned c section or induction. I would definitely mention to your midwife/consultant that your contractions started at 38 weeks. They likely know but best to mention it. Cord round the beck is so common 😞 it’s one of the reasons my daughters HR was dropping and one of the 3 reasons I needed an emergency c section too.

HoneyPea · 09/05/2023 12:56

@allgoodthings84 Thank you I will deff mention it at my next appointment. Hope your doing ok?

allgoodthings84 · 26/05/2023 08:07

@HoneyPea how is it going now?

I’ve just arrived at the hospital (really early to get a parking space) for my second attempt at the GTT test. My hospital does it from age 35+ instead of 40+. Second attempt as last week I passed out and they made me to go a&e. They got me in a wheelchair and took me so no option. I knew I was fine it was just because it was hot and I hadn’t eaten and I don’t drink sugary drinks EVER so not surprised really. I’ve got to try again and I’m dreading it.

allgoodthings84 · 26/05/2023 08:09

How is everyone else doing now? @NSx @NatGee @HoneyPea and everyone? I’ll be 27 weeks tomorrow so next weekend I’ll be in my third trimester! Where is everyone else at now? @NSx have you had your 20 week scan? @NatGee how did your 12 week scan go?

NSx · 29/05/2023 10:16

@allgoodthings84 hi, sorry for the late reply, I’m in Spain at the minute.
I am very well at the minute, it’s nice being away and eating my body weight in food 😂😂😂 I’m 19 weeks on Wednesday, so got my 20 week scan next week. How are u doing? I also feel like I’ve popped a bit recently 😂😅

@allgoodthings84 Sorry didn't get a notification. How did the test go the second time?
25 and a half weeks here and feel so much bigger than last time! My maternity clothes are getting so tight already 🤦‍♀️ Have an appointment next Monday for another scan and to discuss csection details. Exciting times 🩵

HoneyPea · 22/06/2023 10:25

@NSx @allgoodthings84 @NatGee Hope everyone is doing ok?

allgoodthings84 · 22/06/2023 12:48

I’m so sorry @HoneyPea and @NSx I didn’t get notifications!

@HoneyPea the same thing nearly happened at the second test but they got me reclined in a private air conditioned room and I was ok. Haven’t got GD either luckily just my body didn’t like it. How are you getting in now? Not much longer left!

@NSx how did your 20 week scan go? A holiday would be lovely ha ha

@NatGee I hope you’re ok?

I’m nearly 31 weeks now (Saturday) and have my 31 week midwife appointment tomorrow. I’m really struggling with sleeping at night so permanently exhausted which is hard along with the breathlessness. The last 2 weeks have gone from “this is is easy to eughhh”. 8 weeks and 4 days she will be here which is scary as I’ve got nothing ready! Well apart from her travel system and bed.

NSx · 22/06/2023 16:10

@allgoodthings84 @HoneyPea all good over here 🤍 just plodding along lol.

20 week scan was fine, everything was as it should be so that’s a relief.

did they make you do that GD glucose test thing? I haven’t been made to do it, it hasn’t been mentioned to me either. When did you have it?

we’ve just had the nursery painted, ordered our furniture and will order the travel system on Wednesday.
we have our chico next to me bed, baby bath and a bean bag. So have a few bits 😅 still doesn’t feel real.

hope you’re all doing ok 🩷🩵 @NatGee

Not too bad here, nearly 29 wks (Sat) I've had a bad chest infection for the last 4wks and I'm now on my second lot of antibiotics. Hoping it goes away soon. Also feeling bad as I have only brought one new thing for the little man but I know I have it all from last time.
@NSx The one thing I do want to buy is a next to me (just had a Moses basket last time) Have you put it up? Does it seem any good?
I never got asked to take the GD test either.
@allgoodthings84 Glad you don't have GD and the second test went a bit better.
One of the mums in DSs class is pregnant (1week ahead of me) and she has stressed me out this week. She had a routine scan which turned into a MAU visit and now baby may be coming out at 30 or 34wks (depending on next tests) Made me think im not ready for him to come yet!!!!

NSx · 22/06/2023 17:07

@HoneyPea so I am thinking of putting my Moses basket into the next to me at the beginning whilst baby is tiny, then as they grow move them into the next to me - it looks great I’m looking forward to using it 😇✨ …
22+1 over here x

@NSx @HoneyPea I have bought a joie roomie glide next to me bed. I’ve not got it yet though as asked the shop to keep it until a few weeks before she comes so I can get my bedroom sorted first. I saw it in the shop though and it looks amazing and slightly bigger than some others. I’m not bothering with a Moses basket this time as only ended up using it a few times with my daughter as she wasn’t a fan and my carrycot on the pushchair is approved for overnight sleeping so will use that. We bought the rocket pushchair rocket as it’s won loads of awards and looks great

@NSx they didn’t make me but suggested I do because of age. Most hospitals offer it 40+ but ours offer it 35+. I had no reason other than that to be offered it so didn’t think I would have it but so many people on the August due group on Facebook had no symptoms at all of GD but ended up getting a positive! My first was at 26 weeks then again the week after at 27 weeks. Got my 31 weeks midwife appointment tomorrow be interesting to find out what position she’s now in as she has been seeming to prefer transverse so far 🤦🏻‍♀️

NSx · 22/06/2023 19:04

@allgoodthings84 ah nice. We’ve went got the egg 2 travel system…
I saw a really beautiful knitted Moses basket that I quite fancy so going to get that.

ah I am 35 but wasn’t offered any of that, maybe because I’m in Scotland, who knows ?

good luck for tomorrow - do they give you a scan at 31 weeks?
I have my 22w appt tomorrow but the midwives don’t do any scanning 🥹

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 22/06/2023 19:47

@NSx I don’t think many hospitals do until 40+ was surprised ours did to be honest. Nope no scan it’s just the 31 weeks midwife appointment. No more scans unless referred for a growth scan after 20 week scan. I did have a growth scan 2 weeks ago because of reduced movements at 29 weeks (she wasn’t moving on the CTG monitoring after 1.5 hours either so gave me a scan) and she’s all good. My midwife measured my fundal height on the 97th centile at my 28 week appointment but the growth scan showed she’s under the 50th centile. I know the midwife measured incorrectly as she went literally to my crotch which is lower than it can possibly be and every cm counts for fundal height.

NSx · 22/06/2023 20:02

@allgoodthings84 correct me if I’m wrong but 97th centile means above average right ?
my baby was 50th centile at my 20w scan.
I can imagine that was scary for you (the non movement) so glad she’s fine 🤍

we’re not finding out the gender 😂😅 so if I say they; don’t think it’s multiples 😅😅

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 22/06/2023 20:15

@NSx yep. They are personalised to your height and weight at time of booking in though and I’m only 5ft so 97th centile for me isn’t as big as a “normal” height lady 😂 she’s not anywhere near that though she’s under 50th centile based on my chart. She was estimated 2lb 11oz at 29 weeks which is around 45th centile for me. I’ll find out tomorrow if I need another growth scan or not. You can’t see a lot on the growth scans so it’s not really a chance to see baby but it does show that everything is fine so that’s always nice

allgoodthings84 · 22/06/2023 20:16

@NSx shows how inaccurate bump measuring is though! I guess it’s the best the community midwives have got
