I’ve read you can stop at 12 weeks. I’m still taking Pregnacare - tbh I dread it every night 😂😂😂 and don’t know what to do about it @allgoodthings84 .. ah you’re exactly 8 weeks before me then 💕

@NSx I will be 22 weeks on Saturday 😊. You can stop folic acid but the rest of what’s in pregnancy vitamins is good to carry on taking as baby takes everything it needs from you so you’re left with the dregs. The vitamins are for our sake now, especially the vitamin D (which should be taken throughout pregnancy), iron and b vitamins. I think as long as you eat enough of the right foods you can stop but to carry on taking the vitamin D. That’s what I’ve been told in both pregnancies by midwives and GP’s anyway. I have a tendency to be on the low side of iron and b12 so feel better taking them. The vit D is the most important for the baby after 12 weeks though, the rest is for you.

NSx · 20/04/2023 22:38

@allgoodthings84 thanks for that explanation it helps a lot 🤍🤍 my diet has been… errr .. strange 😂 since I’ve been pretty sick 😅😂

@nsx oh wow what a lovely picture, baby is all there, legs, head, hands, arms wow unbelievable that we're carrying such fully formed human beings. i still pinch myself its actually true :D I am not taking a prenatal, its a lot of pills but i take what i think i need individually (high dose Vit C, Vit D, omega 3, methylfolate, electrolytes, probiotics) and then eat eggs for things like choline and liver for even more folate and so many other vitamins. my blood test came back slightly low on ferritin, missed the threshold by a whisker so ill supplement with molasses rather than pills as id like to avoid getting constipated. I may drop the folate but i havent thought about that just yet

With the nausea i feel like i haven't been eating as well as I should have but i am wanting to change that soon. Really dont want to get GD or anything like that...

NatGee · 20/04/2023 23:15

Ladies remember to keep hydrated - very annoyingly i caught a uti and i really think a large part of it was because I couldnt drink when I felt so nauseous. Currently on antibiotics (not ideal but no choice) for a few days and feel much better for it.

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 13:28

@NSx my diet was shockingly bad for the first trimester. I can eat most things again now though phew

@NatGee careful with liver as it’s high in Vit A which is harmful to baby. It’s on the nhs list of foods to avoid.

NSx · 21/04/2023 15:21

@NatGee the body is a weird and wonderful thing isn’t it 🤍 are u finding out the gender?
I’m a bit better with water now but before I was throwing it up, I was so dehydrated my lips were so cracked 😑
@allgoodthings84 mine has gotten slightly better but I don’t fancy eating everything 😱 are you eating well now?

NatGee · 21/04/2023 15:41

@allgoodthings84 oh, yes I am aware of the warning on the NHS website, thank you 😊 good that doctors aren't nutritionists

NatGee · 21/04/2023 15:44

although they probably should be, too

@NatGee yes, i am indeed! my NHS scan is next Wednesday but if they don't give me a nipt ill just have a private one done. I'm mustering the courage to call the department to ask... Ill be annoyed if they say no, although I think they might
omg, so glad you didnt have to go in for fluids - why do our bodies do that? 😥

NSx · 21/04/2023 15:53

@NatGee I was offered the NIPT at 10 weeks but the NHS one does not tell you gender, just so you know 💕😱 which suited me as I don’t want to know 😂
I thought I was maybe going to have to speak to my GP about my sickness but I’m a trooper and I tried to persevere & can say now at 13 weeks there’s been an improvement thank God

I have my baby girls birthday ladies 😮! I had my consultants meeting on Monday and was told she would put it through that I’m having a planned section but wouldn’t get a date until 32 weeks which was fine as most people don’t get a date until after 36 weeks. I got the letter through today with my pre op appointment and my c section date! It’s so strange knowing when it will be.

NSx · 21/04/2023 16:37

So you’re having your baby at 32 weeks? 😱 or have I read this wrong? 😅🤍
what date did they give you … how exciting ❣️❣️❣️ @allgoodthings84

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 16:49

@NSx noooo I was told at my consultant meeting on Monday that I would get given the c section date at 32 weeks to be done at around 39 weeks. It’s booked at 7.15am on 21st August. I’ll be 39+2. I knew it wouldn’t be at exactly 39 weeks as that’s a Saturday and they don’t do planned c sections on weekends here. I know it won’t be at 7.15am as have to allow for emergency c sections so expect to be bumped back (quite rightfully) but I’m the first of the day so should definitely be done that day at some time.

NSx · 21/04/2023 16:55

@allgoodthings84 ahhhhhhhh ok 😂 makes sense!
how exciting 🤍🤍 least you have something to work towards x

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 17:06

@NSx it’s suddenly made it feel more real. It’s still not been feeling like it’s really going to happen even after scans and feel her kick it still felt like a dream. My daughter was 8 days late so feels odd knowing already when this little one will be born

NSx · 21/04/2023 17:56

Request 23rd 😂 birthday would be 23/08/23 😂😅 I love numbers like this 😂🤍 .. my due date is 25th and I hope I go 23/10/23 😂 @allgoodthings84

HoneyPea · 21/04/2023 18:34

@NSx What a lovely scan picture. I'm so glad everything seems ok 💗
I am still taking the seven seas pregnancy vitamins (the Pregnacare ones make me sick) and I will probably continue all the way through to the end like I did with DS.
@allgoodthings84 That is so exciting that you know already. I'm really worried about when mine will be as 39weeks will be Sat 2nd Sept so guessing it will be the Monday but DS starts reception that Weds and I don't want to miss his first day 😢 I was kept in for a week after DS was born although that was an emergency c section.

NSx · 21/04/2023 18:37

@HoneyPea 🤍🤍 thank you.
I still have 2 boxes of Pregnacare max left so feel I should use them but they make me feel a bit unwell so I take them before bed 😂😂😂 I ideally wish I wouldn’t take anything at all 🤢

maybe speak to the midwife’s and they can arrange a more suitable date for you, surely a day or 2 out won’t make a diff ?

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 19:18

@NSx my partner only has 21st to 27th off as not entitled to paternity and can only get 1 week off annual leave as the other manager is already booked off the following week so the date is perfect timing for us.

@HoneyPea most planned c sections are only a 1 night stay as long as goes to plan. I was in 2 nights last time with my emergency but I know of others who only had to stay in 1 night after an emergency so hopefully that was a one off for you 🥰

NSx · 21/04/2023 19:34

@allgoodthings84 fair Enough.
I hope mine comes on the 23rd 😂😂😂😄

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 19:47

@NSx you may just do 😂! Are you having a section or going naturally? I quite liked not knowing when with my daughter (she was 8 days late) but it’s definitely more convenient knowing when you have a child already who you will need to sort out childcare for while you’re in the hospital

NSx · 21/04/2023 19:54

There’s no cause for concern at the minute for a section however you just never know: I would like to go naturally but at the end of the day it’s what’s best for the baby 🤍🤍 I suspect it will be stubborn and come late 😂😂😂 …. @allgoodthings84

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 20:00

@NSx yep definitely just got to do what we need for baby. My ex husband (daughters dad) actually tried to talk me out of the c section “as you said you didn’t want one” when the doctor had just said I have to have one there was no other choice or we both could have died!

NSx · 21/04/2023 21:25

@allgoodthings84 he sounds like an idiot no offence to your daughter as it’s her dad but why would he risk both your lives 😄😱 ..I’m glad you’re both here safe and sound 💓
Have you got a baby name in mind?

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 21:46

@NSx he is a bit at times. He just doesn’t think. He’s not got a harmless bone in his body but just doesn’t think before he speaks.

We have a list of around 7/8 names with 3 leading but they change a lot 😂 top at the moment are Darcie, Phoebe and Isabelle. Maybe even Hazel or Violet (these 2 are old family names so more likely to be middle names). They will probably all change in the next 17 weeks though ha ha. Luckily we agree on quite a few. With my daughter we only agreed on a couple names.
