Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@LeopardLover @CRbear Period arrived today, had a full 28 days cycle, I'm not disappointed that I didn't conceive this month... more so chuffed that my cycle has now regulated itself and I finally ovulated this month, BBT was consistent with how it 'should be' and period arrived 15DPO. So, nice luteal stage ! Just hoping this continues! I think I'm going to try and track properly for a couple of months before I go full steam ahead with planned sex etc, and for now just go with the flow! Find a more consistent pattern with my cycle so we then know when I'm most fertile etc!

We booked a cruise last month - for end of April next year, just realised I can't go on it if I turn 24 weeks pregnant whilst I'm on it haha! But I'm happy to postponed the cruise if I fall pregnant before then, it was more so just something to look forward too! And it'd be an extra added bonus if I could be both pregnant and go on the cruise! (That's the dream!)

@LeopardLover how's your pregnancy going? X

worldwidetravel2017 · 13/07/2023 20:34

CRbear · 12/07/2023 08:41

@worldwidetravel2017 yes, last week. But day 21 for me is rarely after ovulation so no surprise that it showed I hadn’t ovulated!

My progesterone showed not ovulated yet - snap crackle pop there

Clear blue saying high fertility now though

worldwidetravel2017 · 13/07/2023 20:36

Minnierose11 -, best of luck -, keep us updated

worldwidetravel2017 · 13/07/2023 20:37

I feel like my period is due - sunday would be 21 days since last one ended..

Seems this potential highly fertile time as per clear blue ovulation wont be long

LeopardLover · 14/07/2023 07:38

@Minnierose11 This is so positive!! 👏 That's a fantastic luteal phase. Great idea about going with the flow before you get serious 🤓 and wow, love that you booked a cruise! Where are you going? You never know what will happen, and it can definitely be rearranged 😉 it's definitely something to look forward to!

All good, thank you. Although strangely the nausea had kicked in 👀 I got a bit at week 6 with my son but that was it (still week 5). I'm hoping this is short lived because I don't want to tell work until I'm as far along as possible! I keep hearing about losses so I'm trying to stay positive xx

Minnierose11 · 14/07/2023 10:31

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you, I definitely will 🙂 how long have you been trying for? If this baby no1?

@LeopardLover yes! Feeling relieved that it seems to have sorted itself out, I was really really beating myself up thinking something was wrong! I did contact my GP previously and they wouldn't entertain me at all, not even a blood test to check levels.. until it's been a year. My period does seem really heavy though.. which isn't really normal for me. (Sorry TMI)

And we're doing a Mediterranean one! 3 stops in Spain, 1 in France and 1 in Italy! Lovely two weeks! It'll be our first, we're going with my mum and step dad and my grandparents who've done 6 now, they rave about them so we thought we'd see what the hype is about. But it does look so much better than the hustle and bustle of flying! We've got nothing booked for this year as wanted to focus on saving money for a baby/maternity. Which I'm so glad we did now with the cost of living crisis as we'll definitely be needing top ups when on maternity leave!

Oh bless you! The sickness sounds terrible! Hopefully it subsided soon!! 🤞🏼 when is your first ultrasound?! I fear I'll suffer with morning sickness quiet bad! I'm generally quiet a sicky person 😂 I used to throw up often with my periods when I was younger, always throw up with a hangover...

Hey can I join? I was originally planing on ttc once I get my coil out august 25th, but I'm currently waiting for my colposcopy appointment first to make sure everything's alright (had an abnormal smear) but hopefully fingers crossed that's all alright I can get my coil out and start ttc I've also recently been diagnosed with endometriosis and had quite a few early miscarriages but I've had 2 successful pregnancy I have a 7 and 8 year old, so hoping everything's alright and I can start ttc once I get my coil out in August! X

rangu · 19/07/2023 14:21

@LeopardLover @Minnierose11 thanks for the kind words :) im very new to all this stuff, i think i'll order some OPKs to see if i'm ovulating or not, but i'm not too worried yet. i'm also trying to put on a bit of weight in case that's the issue, and to prepare for pregnancy in general. i've been sick this week and every time i get a stomach ache i keep thinking it's my period😂

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 19/07/2023 15:32

I'm ready if this is still going!
Age: 31
TTC no: trying for 4th pregnancy/2nd child but first living baby
Just got an all clear from DH and I's karyotype and recurrent loss tests so ready to be brave and jump back in!

Minnierose11 · 19/07/2023 22:14

@rangu I would recommend the OPKs and bbt testing if you want to be super sure. But also be aware that I bleed 3 times before I even ovulated, then finally did ovulate this cycle just gone and have just finished my first proper period post pill.. so even bleeding doesn't confirm you've ovulated or are ovulating, you can have annovulary cycles! Only way to be sure is bbt temping, and OPKs help. But best of luck and hope you feel better soon!

@ANiceBigCupOfTea welcome!!
Sorry to hear about the rough time you've had of it all. Sending you lots and lots of positive vibes for this time round. Are you on cycle 1 now? Xxx

HELP…advice needed before I go a bit mad!

Came off mini pill end of February, been using Premom to track cycles since then. Periods have been regular. June period came a bit earlier than expected while on holiday. July period was due on Tuesday but still not shown up, just I was pleased they were becoming regular 🙄

Hubby and I were hoping to start TTC from my August cycle and have started on our prenatal vitamins. Was hoping to use this cycle to check ovulation and get used to using the testing strips etc but that’s a bit up in the air now.

Any ideas what could have caused this delay in my period? Is it normal? There’s no point in checking ovulation til period turns up right? 🤯

worldwidetravel2017 · 23/07/2023 20:07

Things that can delay period -

Stress
Anxiety
Weight gain
Weight loss
Over exercising
Pregnancy
Pcos
Low iron

worldwidetravel2017 · 23/07/2023 20:09

Cycle day 33 or 34 here

Guna do a test Tues - wed or thurs

Usually 28 day cycles...

I feel different
But who knows

One of my apps is saying 2 preg test from next tues

SnookyPook · 23/07/2023 23:54

@Edinnewmum I've heard that some prenatal vitamins can also lengthen cycles - might be worth checking!

@worldwidetravel2017 good luck!

worldwidetravel2017 · 24/07/2023 08:58

Thanks
.

Ready 4 the tmi..

Had a little bit of 'something '
In my pink pants this am..

Swapped to white pants now lol

Implantation bleeding could make sense time line wise - 10 days since unprotected sex in one of our 4 attempts in that window..

I feel nausea ( altho that could be b12 deficiency - don't ask - injections likely in aug )

But i havent had usual period due cramps

Lets see what happens - my app says im menna preg test from tomorrow to aug 3rd ish

CaffeineAndCrochet · 24/07/2023 12:27

@Edinnewmum Seconding the suggestion of pre-conception vitamins. I took Pregnacare my first month of trying and it interfered with my cycle. I'm back to just taking folic acid now.

Mrsttcno1 · 24/07/2023 14:22

Hi everyone, hope it’s okay for me to join! I’ve been reading this thread literally since January and can’t believe I can finally say we are officially ttc! This is our first cycle “trying” & my premom app predicts ovulation will be next Monday, so curious to see if the OPK’s confirm that.

good luck everyone! X

Minnierose11 · 24/07/2023 16:10

Third month tracking with LH tests since stopping the pill. Looks like my cycles have now properly sorted itself out !
Both June and July I peaked on CD12, nice 14 day luteal phase and regular period at 28 days. Really chuffed with that, after so much panic!

@Edinnewmum it can take a little while to regulate after stopping the pill. How long was your last cycle? After stopping the pill I had 3 bleeds (not periods as wasn't ovulating) before i finally ovulated and had a normal period. Xxxxx
