Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@LeopardLover congrats!!

I’m just jumping back on here as I’m 12dpo and getting sooo impatient haha. AF is due in 2 days time and I’ve had a few potential preg symptoms such as a little bit of pink spotting yesterday which has gone away today and an implantation dip in my BBT chart a couple days ago… but other than a few twinges down there and slightly sore boob I feel pretty normal! Not long until I know for sure this cycle! I’m watching way too many related YouTube videos..

rangu · 08/07/2023 21:42

hi everyone

i stopped taking the pill on 1 june and i'm still waiting for my first proper period, and i don't think i ovulated yet :( i was on the pill on and off for like 9 years so i hope it doesn't take too long to get back to normal.

was hoping to start TTC in august if my period comes back in time

LeopardLover · 09/07/2023 09:28

@Minnierose11 Did AF arrive? It is great news that you extended your LP and the supplements worked!

@MatchaSpice Thank you 💜 oh I watched SO many YouTube videos 🤣 I still do 😅 any sign of AF? I will say the cycle I got my BFP I had strange bubbly cramping which made me test. I never had implantation but that's always a good indicator. Hoping it wasn't AF for you!

@rangu Welcome! I think it can take a couple of months but hopefully all good by August 🥰

Minnierose11 · 09/07/2023 11:17

@LeopardLover oddly .... No! Now 12DPO and no period. Period is meant to start in the next 3 days.. so will wait and see!! Now I just hope it hasn't gone the opposite way and I have really long cycles haha!

@rangu I stopped birth control at the start of May. I didn't ovulate until late In June and still await my first proper period after ovulation. So it may take a month or so, try not to be disheartened. Are you tracking ovulation at all with OPKs or BBT? X

MatchaSpice · 09/07/2023 14:27

@LeopardLover no sign of AF yet although my temperature was quite a bit lower this morning, not yet under cover line but hoping it’s just dipped as I had a bad nights sleep…
interesting to know about the bubbly cramping, I actually wrote down 2 days ago that I had a bubbly stomach and light cramping. I’ll let you know the outcome for me soon!

@rangu it took a couple of months for my period to come back (not sure about ovulation as I wasn’t tracking before) after stopping the pill too - I think August is a good target month!

cats1990 · 10/07/2023 09:30

@LeopardLover that is amazing news, congratulations 😀hope you’re feeling ok?

Has anyone else experienced 2 LH rises a week apart in their cycles? I had 2 different clear blue tests confirm a peak day 14 of cycle (a week earlier than usual) all the ovulation feels and signs and then last Friday I got another flashing one on the purple clear blue and have had the same daily, nothing on the pink. Had a blood test Friday to check my levels and all hormones but so confused and frustrated. I’m trying not to stress either but obviously easier said than done!

xx

LeopardLover · 10/07/2023 12:22

@Minnierose11 Hoping AF has continued to stay away for you 😉

@MatchaSpice How are you feeling today? Hoping the bubbly cramping is a positive sign!!

@cats1990 Thank you 😁💜 I feel exactly the same tbh 😅 I'm only 5 weeks today, I remember feeling a bit nauseous at 6 weeks last time! So I haven't had this happen but I've heard about it (Fertility Homeopath on YouTube) who explains the fluctuations and recommends using the cheap OPKs instead, as they apparently give a better indication of your peak. That being said, she always recommends tracking BBT too! X

Minnierose11 · 10/07/2023 16:27

@LeopardLover well ... I did a pregnancy test today at 13DPO and strikingly negative haha! But I'm ok with that, if AF shows in the next couple of days. I'm just relieved to know my cycles have started to level out post pill and I'm happy to track for a couple of months to find a pattern, of course BDing regularly but I'm okay if it takes a little while. Aslong as it's not years haha. Turning 31 in august so time isn't my friend! X

SnookyPook · 10/07/2023 16:32

@Minnierose11 you make me feel ancient 😂 I don't think you need to worry about time just yet. I don't mean that in a patronising way btw as of course everyone has their own concerns, but as someone who will be 38 at the end of the year, you have a lot of time for things to work out.

Minnierose11 · 10/07/2023 16:34

@SnookyPook sorry! I worded that terribly... I actually hate reading people who use age as a reference to be in a rush! So sorry - I think in my mind I'm made to feel like I have to hurry because EVERYONE around me has like 2/3 year olds and are onto their second. This will be my first.. and feeling like I'm being left behind. Xxxx

LeopardLover · 10/07/2023 18:31

@Minnierose11 Awwww, well it's been a positive cycle regardless 👏

Haha I know it can feel like there's a lot of pressure on us once we turn 30 but like @SnookyPook said, you probably don't need to worry about age at all.

I fell pregnant with my first at 34, had him at 35. Now I'm 37! 😊

Minnierose11 · 10/07/2023 19:03

@LeopardLover I find it frustrating how often women get asked the question 'when's it baby time then' I got married two years ago in September and I've honestly lost count of how many times I've been asked that question. I asked my husband the other day if he does, and he said he has maybe once or twice but by a mate, I get asked it by complete strangers (customers), friends, family, his family 😂

That's why I love forums like this, they're so reassuring and such a lovely outlet with like minded women!

LeopardLover · 10/07/2023 19:33

@Minnierose11 I hear you! I found that by 4 years after the wedding people stopped asking! 😂 I don't even get many questions about baby #2 which is good. Only from my mum and the MIL. It is crazy how guys don't get pestered as much! 😑

SnookyPook · 10/07/2023 19:42

@Minnierose11 yes that completely makes sense. However old you are it's so hard to not compare to peers etc and feel behind on key milestones! And as you say, people seem to feel so entitled to ask women about what we're doing with our bodies etc. So annoying!

@LeopardLover we're on exactly the same timelines age-wise! Just hope I manage to conceive again while I'm still 37 🤞🏻

Minnierose11 · 10/07/2023 19:49

@SnookyPook @LeopardLover it's madness! I work in hospitality, and I've been with the company I'm with for many many years now, so a lot of the regulars are very familiar with me on a professional level... but it's madness how often they make comments to me about having a baby, even down to my sex life and getting 'practice' in. It genuinely gives me the ick.
I even heard from a close friend that some other friends (not so close) of mine were speculating that my marriage wasn't going well because I wasn't pregnant yet. 😂 it was madness to me! As of being pregnant means happiness?? Dread to think the kind of stereotype I'd get if I said I didn't want children!

worldwidetravel2017 · 10/07/2023 21:47

@LeopardLover - youve given me hope
Im 36.5

I worry about my age

Had 2 scans last week including transvaginal

I have a small fibroid.

Booked my day 21 progesterone blood test

Hopefulhoney6 · 11/07/2023 09:08

@Minnierose11 I felt the same, like all my friends had children and I would be left behind (even though I haven’t been ready to try until now!!) but then I realised that actually some did, some didn’t. And it’s all about you and your DP and what is right for you.

I’m 35 now and 6.5 weeks with DC1. Hopefully! I had a miscarriage last year when I was 34, but I have lots of friends in mid/late 30s getting pregnant. Three friends are currently trying for their third child 😂 Me and my DH just discuss how patience is the key word in all of this.

Kcitsorf · 11/07/2023 12:49

Hi,

I hope it is okay to jump in and join :)

Age 31
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23

I had my implant removed in May and so far my cycles seem to have come back completely normally. Fingers crossed this is the case and not my body lulling me into a false sense of security. I find the TTC world a complete minefield to be honest :)

MatchaSpice · 11/07/2023 16:39

@LeopardLover AF came right on time so I guess everything I was feeling was PMS! Not sure what the early spotting was about though so I’ll watch out for that next month too 🤔

@Kcitsorf welcome! Yeah It’s definitely a minefield and I still don’t know what all the acronyms stand for but getting there haha. I’m just in my third cycle of trying now and hoping I become less obsessed with tracking everything 😅

CRbear · 12/07/2023 07:52

Hi everyone!

sounds like a huge improvement on your cycle if nothing else @Minnierose11

welcome @Kcitsorf - atleast we’re all in the minefield together!

@cats1990 I have had a couple of cycles where I have a surge, and what I think will be my Lh peak, only for my body not to ovulate, then a week later a much higher LH Surge that is actually my peak and then subsequent ovulation. It’s quite common with PCOS, don’t know about otherwise. It’s like your body tries but doesn’t quite manage

O+15 here and expecting my period today- tests since O+8 have been stark white. Got a bit teary last night. 5 cycles in (but 7 months) tracking ovulation every single time and nothing. I know I have PCOS but as I’m ovulating on my own I guess I’m starting to wonder what else is wrong! The whole it can take a year thing must be factoring in people who aren’t tracking, months where you’re on holiday etc. if it’s a 20-30% chance each cycle I should be pregnant by now 😂

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/07/2023 08:37

I have my day 21 progesterone blood test today
To check ovulation
Has anyone else done that ?

CRbear · 12/07/2023 08:41

@worldwidetravel2017 yes, last week. But day 21 for me is rarely after ovulation so no surprise that it showed I hadn’t ovulated!

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/07/2023 08:59

@CRbear yeah - i worry i may be in a similar boat ...

I have ' assumed - pcos..

Used ovulation sticks a lot this cycle . Yet to see a positive one . .

Had scans early last week - have one small fibroid

Ovaries were both within range but sometimes people with pcos - have ' normal in appearance ovaries ..

I get my chin waxed often & have heavy periods - two pcos symptons
And hair on inner thighs etc ..

Have you tried the free soul pcos supplement with myo inostol that worked 4 many ?

Ive bought the smiley face ovulation tester to try immediately after next period

I did a private superdrug 21 day progesterone blood test yesterday - day 21 since period started lightly

Doing nhs one today ..

I get a lot of bloating - had so many areas looked at - had 3 polyps out my bowel in may

Have you had a transvaginal scan ?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 12/07/2023 20:25

Hi all :)

My day 21 test was actually moved to day 19 as I have shorter cycles, they should be able to adjust the day to accommodate longer cycles surely.

Booked my meds delivery for Tuesday today :)

Holdingouthope · 13/07/2023 12:12

Hello!

I'm hoping I can jump in.

TTC in Sept 2023
I'm 31 and this will be baby #1.

I had a MMC a year or so ago after an unexpected pregnancy, and we are ready to TTC in Sept. I started taking Prenatals a month or so ago, I've been trying to avoid overly processed foods and I'm trying to lower my stress. So we shall see!🤞
