Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@Hopingforno2in2023 thank you 🙏.

Good luck with the sperm retrieval, hope it alls goes well!

CRbear · 28/04/2023 11:07

@Mushroo congratulations- such great news - you’ve given me hope as I also have PCOS.

@Hopingforno2in2023 - all sounds so promising- hope it all goes well.

I had a very long cycle last month - 52 days. We’d been doing SMEP up until a few days before I ovulated but we got tired and gave up. We did have sex at ovulation as luckily I couldn’t stop using Lh strips. I don’t feel too bad that we messed up by stopping as I suspect the egg would have been too old by the time I ovulated day 37.

I was ill for most of the cycle so suspect my body delayed ovulation as I couldn’t have handled a pregnancy- so realistically I know it’s unlikely to be that long again but I’m still feeling quite panicky that it will be. I’m day 18 today and ovulating any time between now and day 26 would be within normal for me so still plenty of time but I just struggle to stay calm. And then I feel stressed about being stressed because it’s not good for conception and on and on it goes. I don’t know how people do this for months and months- years even. Maybe I’m just not cut out for it haha

TrudyProud · 29/04/2023 06:14

How are we all doing? Anymore BFPs?
I'm 12DPO (maybe) today but not gonna test till DH is back from a stag weekend .

Some days I think "yep, defo pregnant ", other days not so much. This is cycle1 TTC DC2. Keeping everything crossed

Mushroo · 29/04/2023 07:06

@CRbear thank you! I still don’t really believe it but 5 weeks today and so far so good.

LeopardLover · 29/04/2023 08:47

@Notyetamother just tagging you on the new thread!

@TrudyProud Fingers crossed this is the month for you! We're not properly TTC until June and just taking a casual approach right now without OPKs. Like you I'm happy waiting to test but I can't wait for you to do it!

@CRbear That makes sense if you were poorly, hopefully this will be a nice regular cycle for you. It's really hard not to stress isn't it, it all must be even more stretched out/anxiety inducing for you due to extended cycle length!

happytobemrsg · 30/04/2023 21:37

I hope it’s ok to join you all! I’m 34 (35 in 2 months) & DH is 44. We have 2 beautiful boys - 7 & 3.5. Starting to feel it’s now or never for DC3! I think realistically we will TTC in about 2 months. As for preparation I’m going to start saving every penny for mat leave (I do not want to return to my current job so I need to figure out a career change too). Is it weird that I’m super excited to be buying my conception vitamins on Tuesday? 😂 😬

LeopardLover · 30/04/2023 21:58

@happytobemrsg Welcome! It is exciting. 😊 I loved reaching 3 months of vitamins too. I should probably start saving too because I want to do the same ha ha.

TrudyProud · 01/05/2023 05:46

So I've tested this morning and..... BFP!
However I'm not sure how to feel as with DD I had a dye stealer. It might be I'm not as many DPO as I thought or BF my toddler is having an impact on the stickiness. Really not sure so I'll keep watching.

The one thing that keeps me semi confident os the 2nd line came before 3 mins but I feel it should have more colour

Mummyme87 · 01/05/2023 06:35

@TrudyProud congratulations! That’s a BFP. How many dpo are you? Don’t worry about the strength of the line compared to last time, each pregnancy is different, you may have implanted earlier last time, there’s a lot of variables

CinderRosie · 01/05/2023 09:07

@TrudyProud congratulations! A line is a line, don’t worry about the strength. As long as it’s there, you are pregnant.

CD12 for me today and STILL circles on the Clearblue advanced digitals. Last month I had my static on CD13. Maybe it’s just taking a bit longer this month, I do feel like O is on the way. I’d been having doubts over TTC and getting cold feet a bit but seeing ovulation taking its time to gear up this month is making me wonder whether I ovulate every month, and it panicked me a little bit which helps make my mind up that I do want to TTC!

TrudyProud · 01/05/2023 09:15

@Mummyme87 I never tracked ovulation this cycle. With DD I peaked on CD10 so I presumed I did for this cycle as well. Based off this crude estimate I'm 14DPO though it's likely I could be fewer DPO. We didn't track as I wanted some "fun" TTC but now it's stressing me out .

But you are right. A line (in the correct timeframe) is a line. I'm pregnant and the internet says DC2 would be due mid January 🥰. Thank you

Thank you both @CinderRosie

Fingers crossed you get your peak soon

happytobemrsg · 01/05/2023 09:50

Congratulations @TrudyProud !! I understand why you’re worried but right now, you have a lovely line 🥰

Working through financials with DH to get us in the best shape before we TTC #3. I’m the main earner by far but hate my job. I think I could stick it out for 9 months on the understanding that I wouldn’t have to go back, just a lot to work out. I had a good birth last time (I don’t feel co reactions so I had to have an ELC with DC2) but the aftercare was awful. Looking at reviews online, it looks like the hospital has got worse.

CoffeeMama1 · 01/05/2023 12:15

Congratulations @TrudyProud !! That's such wonderful news!

CD14 here and still neg ov tests 🙃 we were meant to bd last night but had an exhausting day so a bit worried but trying not to get too caught up in it. I don't know why but I feel like if this month doesn't happen for us I'll be so sad, even though it's early days really, it's just basically having one shot every two months feels so difficult.

xTinkerbell · 02/05/2023 07:18

My cycles are frying my brain. Noticed ewcm with the end of my period on CD5. Did an OPK CD6 expecting nothing and it had a dark-ish line. Expected darker the next day not nope they’re getting lighter.

Temps seem to be trending upwards. I have short cycles anyway but this just seems ridiculous.

TrudyProud · 02/05/2023 07:46

@happytobemrsg I totally understand the additional stress that comes with being the main earner. With DD I took a year Mat leave and DH took 3 months unpaid SPL.

With this DC I don't think we'll be able to take all that time off as a family which is sad

Oh wow! That is an early one. Hoping that temp stays nice and high for you.

happytobemrsg · 02/05/2023 20:52

@TrudyProud Being the main earner make things complicated, especially when I’m desperate not to return after mat leave.

I chickened out buying my conception vitamins today 😬 but I did spend last night googling hospitals in my area so that’s promising 😂

xTinkerbell · 03/05/2023 08:08

@LeopardLover I usually have quite short cycles (think i ovulate cd10-12) but only been tracking 3 months. This seems crazy early though.

Trying not to stress and take it as it comes.

May stop tracking because i think it’s causing me more stress

Are you taking any new supplements? On another thread some of the ladies are discussing potentially ovulating earlier than expected due to prenatal vitamins/ubiquinol!

For me BBT tracking was really stressful last time so I'm not doing it at all. I think if OPKs are causing stress definitely ditch them! What DPO are you now? 😊 Fingers crossed for you!

xTinkerbell · 03/05/2023 09:10

@LeopardLover nope nothing new this cycle.

Yup I was doing BBT and OPK’s to try and work my cycles out but all I do every month is stress about what’s changed and if xyz is normal so i’m going to ditch it all and just see what happens I think.

xTinkerbell · 03/05/2023 09:11

FF seems to think i ovulated CD8 so that would make me 2 DPO

LeopardLover · 03/05/2023 09:25

I vote ditch it all if you need to take a more chilled approach, even if it's just for a couple of months. But fingers crossed this won't be needed as this could be THE month!!

xTinkerbell · 03/05/2023 09:41

@LeopardLover definitely ditching it all! I never done of this when TTC before and I can physically feel the stress so it’s not worth it.

Thank you! Helps to put what’s going on in my head out there sometimes

TrudyProud · 03/05/2023 11:43

Tested today at around 1115 after multiple wees today and it feels official! Think the line progress is good and my digital confirmation helps. Will still test next week in hopes of getting a 2-3 week or the infamous 3+ before letting my GP know.

Yeaaa to wfh as that's the only way I've been able to test mid morning.

If there are no objections I'd like to stay on the thread as feel invested in your TTC journey.
