I don't know if there are any threads already started but I've just officially found out I've got PCOS this morning - I've always known deep down. Please tell me it's not all bad I'm feeling very sorry for myself.
We've been TTC for 6 months - only 3 cycles. I supposedly ovulated on CD36 (now CD43) this cycle. Gynae reckons not preg cos uterus lining would've thickened. (Had a scan this morning)

Any hints/tips on treatment/TTC?
How to deal with symptoms?

How did Posh spice and Jools Oliver manage to fall preg?

Hi - this thread is a little out of date. We've got some more information on PCOS here. MNHQ

Moonlit- congratulations!!! what brilliant news!!

Did you just test yesterday?

Moonlit · 18/09/2008 09:10

Hi GYo - yes I did as I was 5 days overdue. I am always overdue when I have traveled abroad, but I have not been feeling to great. I thought nothing of it, until I fell asleep with my DD during her nap and had this weird dream about delivering my second baby. So I got up and did a test. The lines came up so strongly straight away. I was going to see the specialist on Monday, I don't need to now!!!!!

I am still a little scared, because I am just four weeks. But I am so excited. My DH is over the moon!!!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 18/09/2008 09:16

Moonlit

Yay!!!. Huge Congratulations to you!!!

I would go and see the specialist anyway to tell him your good news. I would ensure that you are carefully monitored throughout your pg (he may want to prescribe progesterone pessaries for instance or do ultrasound scan at regular intervals).

With best wishes

Moonlit · 18/09/2008 09:25

Thank you Attila - Are you sure the specialist won't get annoyed with me. As the appointment could go to someone who needs it. Could my GP not make sure I have regular scans?

Moonlit · 18/09/2008 10:15

Thank you Cam my darling,

It has taken two years but finally it has happened. The weight loss was a true blessing. Thank you for your prayers, you are always in mine to. Just pray now that I have a healthy pregnancy.

Lots of love to you xxx

cam75 · 18/09/2008 10:51

You will do honey. Just take it easy and rest up!!!!! xxxx

AttilaTheMeerkat · 18/09/2008 12:18

Hi Moonlit,

I can only go by my own experience here but the NHS cons gynae who supervised my fertility treatment also went onto monitor me throughout my pg (had progesterone pessaries till week 12). I had internal ultrasound scans at 4 weeks, 12 weeks and 20 weeks.

If you were to cancel the appt it may not follow that it would go to someone else.

Certainly let the GP know asap.

I wish you well

Hi Attila - Thank you for your advice. I spoke with my GP today nd she told me to stop taking Metformin and cancel the appointment, now that I am pregnant!

Moonlit

HOORAY!!! The hugest congratulations honey! I can;t believe it! The BFP's are jut rolling in!!!!!

I am soooooooo happy for you!
WELL DONE!

Moonlit · 19/09/2008 09:19

Hi DungunGirl

I have been waiting very patiently for you to come on the thread and see my BFP

I still can't believe it. I am due on the 24th of May. I have stopped taking Metformin and picked up my pregnancy folder from the GP's yesterday.

I thought it would never happen, but a combination of prayers, weight loss, exercise and a positive attitude has finally made it possible.

Dungungirl - thank you for being such a good virtual friend on this thread

FruitynNutty · 19/09/2008 09:52

Oh my god MOONLIT!!!!!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Have you come down off the ceiling yet?

FruitynNutty · 19/09/2008 09:54

Sorry not been around, I'm very naughty. I will make sure I keep popping my head in to see how you all are

sarah76 · 19/09/2008 12:20

Moonlit, congratulations!

Bit of bad news from me I'm afraid. I had a miscarriage Monday night. Fucking PCOS. Well shouldn't say that really, can't really know what caused it, if anything. They are going to examine and look for abnormalities, should be meeting with a consultant in about a month.

So back to the metformin/weight watchers for me, and hoping what I hear is true, that the first three months after a MC are high fertility ones. My mum (who's a nurse) said even just having been pregnant may help straighten my cycles out a bit. Hoping for the best, already plotting how to get DP in the sack without him feeling too much pressure. . .

((((((((((((sarah76)))))))))))))

I was very sorry to read about your recent miscarriage.

You may want to at some stage contact the Miscarriage Association as they can also offer advice and support.

The Miscarriage forum on these webpages may also give you suppport too.

Give yourselves plenty of time and be kind to yourself.

With best wishes

Now just take care of yourself...these early weeks are so fragile. Take it easy ok! No picking up DD or carrying heavy things now!

I am so excited for you.

Hate to admit eh....but they were right about the weight loss helping!

sarah76

Oh I am so sorry to hear that it hasn't worked out. Don't give up hope though! I had my MC in April and got my next BFP in July! And I am now 11 weeks! Only got to 7 weeks the last time.

It has happened once after all! So your body knows what it needs to do!

Good Luck sweety and look after yourself.

DungunGirl · 19/09/2008 12:53

Oh forgot to say....been a little absent as was not well at all for about 3 days, so have been bundled up in bed feeling horrible.

Better today, back at work and back on mumsnet!

FruitynNutty

How far along are you now?

cam75 · 19/09/2008 12:58

sarah

just read about your mc i am so sorry. Dont' get dishearted i know easier said than done. You got pregnant so well done and it will happen again soon. A friend of mine had an mc and a couple of weeks she was pg again but sadly she had another mc so it seems funny it happen so quick.

Hope your well honey hugs and kisses xxx

FruitynNutty · 19/09/2008 20:13

Oh Sarah I'm so so sorry {{{{big hug}}}} I doesn't seem fair at all. All these awful people who get pregnant at the drop of hat and here we all are, desperately trying for what seems like forever. There are so many people on here who get their dreams whipped away from them, it's just so cruel.
Just don't keep it bottled up, if you need to vent you can do it here as much as you like xxx

Hey Dungun Aw I hope you're feeling better now. I'm now 14 weeks. My belly is so big now that strangers even notice I think it might be a food baby actually

How's it going?

sarah76 · 20/09/2008 12:35

thanks for the thoughts, ladies. I'm just trying to stay positive about it all.

FruitynNutty, are you the same Fruitloop79 who started this thread originally?

FruitynNutty · 20/09/2008 18:56

That's me

FruitynNutty · 20/09/2008 18:56

Most people just call me Fruity

Moonlit · 21/09/2008 14:00

Hey DungunGirl - I am trying to take it easy, but I am so busy these days and DD for some reason wants to be picked up all the time. I have a sore throat and just want to get into bed. I will try to have a early night tonight. Absolutely it was the weight, I hate it when the doctors are right

Hey Fruity - Nope I am still attached to the ceiling, my DH and I delighted and still can't believe it. It's like a dream I can't believe you are 14 weeks already. WOW!

Sarah76 - I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope it will happen for you again very soon. Take it easy!

I am starting to see a possible let-up of all the nausea and indigestion...I think!

At least since hitting 10 weeks I have the odd day that I feel ok.

However, the suffering isn't over yet!

I am 4 days away from 12 weeks now! Have my 12 week scan on Monday (29th). SO am hoping that in a couple or so weeks things will settle down.
