Ooh Hellkat, in my pre-teen years I was into all things witchy, I'd be interested in spells :o lol although my mother called drunkenly when I was pregnant with little Theo and said 'You throw your tarot cards out right now, they've got the devil in them and they'll curse you both (you evil satanist you)'!

Tania2 · 08/12/2004 11:37

Hi girls iam back....not for long thou as i am off to bed in a min.
Cockenzie iam in Australia so time difference is 11 hrs infront of you guys so that explains why i post at ungodly hours and of course why i miss out on all the sex talk cause iam fast asleep damit!! Its nearly 10:30pm here now.
Thanks hellkat for telling me your story hopeing that because iam still only 27 that i am in for a great chance to fall pg not long after the op. But then again i still havent got my af yet been getting sharp pain in my left ovary tonight dont usually get it in my left only my right hmmm???? Just reading into things i know its not possible this month as everything tells me that i havent ov at all this month and we only managed to bd once over the time that i was meant to be oving (does that make sense??)
any how i must get some sleep had another bad night with ds took him to the Dr today and he has a really bad right ear infection and bronchitis Sad feeling like a bad mummy atm cause i had no idea it was that bad he has only been waking in the night and i thought that it was because he was getting his 2yr old molars and thought that he was all stuffed up cause i tried him again on cows milk (been on soy since he was 14 mths old). My poor angel it will be so much easier when he can tell me where it hurts. Sad
Good night girls and i will try to pop in in the morning to say hi and of course let you know if af has arrived yet if it doesnt come tomorrow i may have to consider it to be on border line late

Chuffingoodtime · 08/12/2004 11:45

wow - what a lot of chatting since yesterday it is so hard to keep up.
I found these articles the other day which I thought was quite interesting and might explain my lack of ovulation (1 in almost 2 years) although there was a pregnancy in there.

What do you guys think?

ernest · 08/12/2004 11:51

hi all, seriously can't keep up- just got back from few days away.

managed to spot bonkerz's great news - congratulations Grin

I'm not expecting much this months as dh away. Got confession - needed new jeans - and went & bought 2 pairs of maternity jeans thinking they were ok now & no point in buying normal ones cos hoping to get og soon. Now hoping dh doesn't spot it. omg how mad & depserate is that?? Now probably jinxed my chances & will never get pg. [rolling eyes at own stupidity]

Mariella, ru there?

hester · 08/12/2004 11:51

Oh blimey, CGT, that's a bit of a blow for us veggies, isn't it? Though I have to say that I ovulate regularly and my prob is probably age rather than lentils...

I've been trying to resist getting too obsessive about diet, but have finally cracked and got an optimum nutrition for conceiving book. Will look at it tonight and let you know any interesting bits.

PS. They are VERY small sample sizes. I wouldn't get too bothered by this.

hester · 08/12/2004 11:53

Just to add - I did take one glance at my new book last night and saw a line saying, 'Just one cup of coffee a day can halve your fertility'. Now, my reading of the literature is that the link between moderate caffeine consumption and depressed fertility is NOT proven, and the general advice is to keep it under three cups of coffee a day. I did feel momentarily very cross; it's hard enough ttc without feeling stressed out/guilty about every single thing you put in your mouth! And some of these nutritionists are so fanatical... But maybe I'm just in denial because I've cut my caffeine down to one a day but just can't seem to give up that last one!

Chuffingoodtime · 08/12/2004 11:53

It just seemed really co-incidental that they one time I ovulated in 5 months was when I had been on atkins for about 3 weeks so was getting an awful lot of protein. Luckily we caught it and dd resulted. Started atkins number 2 yesterday.

hester · 08/12/2004 11:56

It would certainly make sense to ensure you are getting enough good protein. I think I probably get loads - of everything, including chocolate! - so am probably OK. But be careful that you don't cut out too much - I really believe a balanced diet is best - and don't lose weight too fast... Other than that, enjoy your cheese! Grin

Tania2 · 08/12/2004 11:57

Hester my natrapath told me that you increase your chances if you drink black tea with no milk or green tea as they are antioxidents i drink tea but cant have it with out the milk but mind you i have been lucky to have 2 cups of tea in the past 2 weeks just dont feel like it.

Tania2 · 08/12/2004 11:58

Mind you i would normally drink about 3 to 5 cups a day Shock

Chuffingoodtime · 08/12/2004 12:01

Will keep you guys informed of course, diet pretty balanced in general normally so it'll be interesting to see if this makes a difference.
I guess we'll mostly try anything won't we.

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 12:01

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 12:04

mariella · 08/12/2004 12:10

Hi Ernest, I'm here! Just being quiet because this thread is moving so fast for me that by the time I read it I have to run off and do something with the children, and also because I'm on cd8 or 9 of my new cycle (after my strange 14 day non-cycle) so all is pretty boring here. girding my loins for a serious week or so of bd-ing but I feel so knackered and pre-cold-y and generally blahh that I don't feel too inspired! I need a talking to, girls.

Also have been thinking that 3 kids is quite hard work, why do I want a 4th? And answer is that if dh wasn't so keen I would probably drop the idea. Which makes me feel a bit guilty...

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 12:12

((hugs)) mariella pull up a chair and a brew and sit and chat for a while.

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 12:17

Morning all :) No news here, AF has finished now (I think), so waiting to reach OV time.

cockenzie - do you have a link to your chart on FF?

Who is waiting to test this week?

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 12:21

ello hula.. bit quiet today.

HellKat · 08/12/2004 12:24

Hiya Hula,
Thankgoodness no one can see me atm lmao. Crawling round on the floor, playing peek-a-boo with ds and bouncing to make him giggle!
Ah well passes time and takes my mind off of cleaning rest of house.
Grin

hester · 08/12/2004 12:32

Yes, jb, tea counts as caffeine. But is usually weaker than coffee so you can drink more. I have the info at home; will check and get back. Of course, chocolate also contains caffeine but I'm choosing to ignore that one! Grin

All herbal teas are OK, though i think there's some you shouldn't overdo (again, will check). And watch out for the black teas with herbs/flavours added; these will contain caffeine.

Yes, the antioxidants in green and black tea are useful, but again watch out for the caffeine in black tea.

Am drinking carrot juice at the moment and feeling very smug..

Hulababy · 08/12/2004 12:36

You all sound so healthy drinking odgy stuff. I have just finished a mug of hot chocolate Grin BUT have an excuse - needed it to make me feel more cheerty seeing as I am in middle of HMI insoection at school!
