Looking for TTC buddies! (November/December 2022)

Hi all,

I don't have any friends who are TTC and I feel like I need a little support group out with my other half. There are loads of threads here but they are so long, I didn't know where to start so thought I'd create a new thread.

I'm 33, TTC baby number 1 (Edinburgh). I'm currently on cycle 5, just about to enter my fertile window on CD 11. I had my copper coil removed in July this year and I am tracking along with OPKs. I seem to be ovulating with the dark positive line, although a little later on day 18 -19. I'm hoping to see my ovulation come forward a bit.

How is everyone getting on? I am overall very positive and can't wait to get a BFP. I'm still getting used to the lingo!

@WineCap oh god, my little boy is two this month and I’m 8dpo. He’s a handful too!! I’m 36 though and didn’t want to wait much longer and it seemed now or never!! Baby dust to you all. Can’t wait to see come more positives

I know what you mean, 2yr olds are a handful and need so much attention, I don't know how I'd cope right now with a newborn and a baby. Hats off to people with two under two!

A 3yr age gap always seemed nice to us too, though for medical reasons after my c-section I was advised to wait at least 2 years. Which is probably for the best because otherwise I would have had a wild broody month ages ago and thought fuck it, let's just do it now 😂 so I'm glad we've waited in the end.

10DPO and symptoms are worse if anything! No bfp though. I have only used cheapies so going to buy a pack of frers and use one now and then one if period doesn’t arrive. Hopefully start seeing some bfps soon!

So frer update. I’ve used one the evening and I swear I saw the faintest of faint lines. Tests have literally never caught my eye because they’ve always been a stark white negative but this one made me double take! Absolute squinter though so I’ll test again tomorrow and see. FRERs are notorious for evaps so probably just that… I’ll keep you posted!

Oh that is interesting! I thought evap lines came after the test has dried out but you never know. Maybe test again with stronger morning pee? Fingers crossed for you 💕

@CaraLouLou really? This was before it was dry definitely, as it was about 3 mins after I’d done it and was about to chuck it in the bin! Like I say I’ve only ever had clear bfn’s so I’ve never looked twice at a test to get an indent 😂

No im out sorry! Was on a girls trip away and started my period so didn't have any good news to share when I got back sadly. CD14 falls next weekend so fingers crossed for around that time. I have booked in a pelvic scan, amh and hyscosy to check tubes for next week. I think after months just need some reassurance as I think approximately this would be our 14th cycle ttc. Will let you know how it goes with the various tests!

I’ll join. Long time lurker but first time I’ve ever posted on this board. Still trying to understand all the lingo!
Currently TTC #2, been off the pill since July and no luck but this is first cycle properly tracking. Wasn’t even trying when we got pregnant first time so this is all new to me. My cycle seems to be about 40 days… really wish it was shorter but I guess there’s not much I can do. Clearblue showing high fertility the last few days so CD18 onwards but no peak yet. Fingers crossed for a BFP for us all soon!

I'm 28 TTC #2, CD16 unsure if ovulating - this is cycle 3 for me! Had some obscure and long cycles before this so think I'm still adjusting to normal after the pill, using my health app to track, I have it set to a 31 day cycle and I just correct is as I go along until I settle down!

I was using cheapy ov sticks, but was getting shadowy lines etc so bought tesco own brand ones, just hoping for someone's opinion on if i've had a surge or if they are just varying levels of negative!

Top test is from Wednesday,
Second from Thursday
Third from around lunchtime today (friday)
Last one from around 9pm today (friday)

I'm sure the third was heading towards a positive but the last one has thrown me off and now I'm unsure!

Hiya! Welcome, it's so good to chat to people on the same journey. I have been using ovulation sticks for about 5 months and you'll know when you have a positive as the first line is really dark. I think your ones are varying levels of negative but who knows, everyone is different. Remember the window to see the positive is quite small so I tend to test multiple times a day when I know I'm supposed to be ovulating. I'm currently on CD17 but haven't peaked yet, if it doesn't happen today or tomorrow I reckon I may not have ovulated this cycle. I'll keep you posted if I see a darker line! I'll include a screenshot of last months so you can see the dark line - hopefully it's helpful. Best of luck!

Hi @Setfiretotherain1 - Welcome! I ovulate later than 'normal' too. I'm averaging ovulating between CD17 - 19. I'm on CD17 but haven't quite peaked yet, I have very very clear discharge so I should get that positive today or tomorrow.

I'm currently on cycle 5 after getting the copper coil out in July, trying for baby 1! :)

Sorry to hear that, but so glad you have tests booked. I'm only on cycle 5 so can't imagine what it's like after so many cycles. Thinking of you and definitely keep us posted on the results if you choose to share 💕

How did you get on @Chanteuse - any joy after that faint line?

@CaraLouLou thank you for the pics they are super helpful! I have had positive ones before when we were last trying this time last year but we took a break then started again around August!

My last cycle was 42 days so wasn't expecting to be ovulating quite yet but I leave my app on a 31 day cycle so I work from those prediction dates and just correct it as I go! Im about halfway through the predicted fertile window now, and only started testing because I was having cramps! I've attached a picture of today's one, probably taken about 1:30pm and will check again now probably around tea time! I would say looking at yours that this is the closest i've had to a positive looking one! Like you said the window is quite small so it's hard to pin point!

We are TTC #1 (OH already has DS).
This is now cycle 14 for us. We had our initial fertility appointment last month, which has resulted in bloods, sperm analysis for OH and HSG for me.
I’ve not been ovulating much at all. Today I peaked on CB digital and have felt crampy since last night. I am currently CD17, we DTD CD 15 and will tonight again once my friends son who we’re babysitting has gone home.
Fingers crossed for you all this month. Let’s hope there’s plenty of Christmas BFPs

I’m 11 days dpo today and couldn’t resist testing and got a bfn ! Holding in hope over the next few days and due Friday !

congrats on the positive’s hoping if it’s not this month it will be next month for us !

Please don’t hate me but yes it is. It was the same for my first too. I did the opk and the pre natal vitamins. @Setfiretotherain1

hope you don’t mind another joining? TTC number 1 as well, I’m 32 and have been going through fertility treatment for a while so currently on cycle 5 having tried letrozole and now injectables. I have PCOS and don’t ovulate naturally so hoping this works! Currently CD5 and have regular monitoring to see if I’m progressing to ovulation!

@Setfiretotherain1 thank you. I’m just so wary for other people. Fertility is a cruel game to the kindest of people. I used the Severn seas ones with both my pregnancies
