Hey hey, making this thread to lead on from last months. I’m 1 or 2 dpo today and I’m going to try and not symptom spot this month!! Also going to try my best to not test until 12dpo at the earliest!

what DPO are you all?

Ah that's shit @PPop - she is probably right about the 3 miscarriages, but might be worth trying her GP anyway, or talking to Tommy's: www.tommys.org/baby-loss-support/miscarriage/your-care-after-1-or-2-miscarriages

PPop · 05/01/2023 09:10

Thank you @Mortima I will pass that on!

I must admit having not gotten pregnant yet and this happening is getting to me a bit... 🤦‍♀️ I am getting a little nervous that it isn't happening!

I know 4 attempts isn't many but it feels loads!

Wrenegade · 05/01/2023 14:28

@PPop sorry to hear about your sister, such heartbreaking news. Three miscarriages is the usual but I know that these things change with age. So over 35 it is a little bit different and instead of a year it reduces to TTC for 6 months before getting a fertility check. It is worth a try.

Thank you all for the support. Today is feeling like a less sicky day for the first time since the 18th of December. We got to meet baby on a scan this morning, slightly further along than we thought at 8 weeks 2 days. Meaning conception happened 4/5dpo, they anlso came from the right ovary and I was convinced it was the left. Everything is looking healthy.

PPop · 05/01/2023 14:34

@Wrenegade ohh how lovely!! How did they know what ovary etc? I'm so interested in this process!

I did a test this morning as I'm predicted 10DPO and bfn so at least in 2 months I can head to the doctors and get some checks done since I'm 35 already! (Ew) so thank you for that information.

Thank you to everyone on the support with my sister it's nice to be able to voice it I'm trying to send her messages of support and encouragement but it's such a difficult situation as I've found her to calm up a lot, just heart broken I think.

Wrenegade · 05/01/2023 14:46

@PPop they were able to detect on the sonograph, I have forgotten the terms she used but basically the ovary which released the successful egg looks different to the other ovary which I also find fascinating.

There is still plenty of time for you to test positive, implantation is usually 8-10 dpo and then it takes 2 days for the hormone to rise enough to be detectable. But yes do reach out after six months, I think most people don’t know that this changes with age. I imagine it is the most comforting to know that you are there to listen to her when she needs it. Sadly there isn’t too much anyone can do to take away the pain but sharing it can help ease it.

PPop · 09/01/2023 15:44

Okay so it's 3.37 I took this and I checked it around 4.41/2 (I got excited and ran to DH) pee looked relatively dark. Could this be real? Predicted period due it tomorrow??

Ah @PPop that looks like a very clear positive!! Congratulations!!

PPop · 09/01/2023 16:30

And is it okay I'm 13DPO predicted? Gonna have a digital test tomorrow!

Wrenegade · 09/01/2023 16:42

@PPop that is positive! Congratulations. Such happy news. 13dpo is fine, I had my bfp at 9dpo - baby is doing well.

ScaredSally · 09/01/2023 17:09

@PPop congratulations! That's definitely positive and about the right colour for 13dpo

PPop · 09/01/2023 18:15

I actually saw it develop and ran up the stairs to
Hubby! It's a bit surreal.

PPop · 09/01/2023 21:32

I did a clear blue and seeing those words was a bit bonkers but yay! Hopefully it all goes well from here!! Any other jan testers?

Mortima · 10/01/2023 10:05

@PPop Oh what wonderful news, congratulations! It is definitely surreal seeing it on a digital test, in a good way. How are you feeling today?

PPop · 10/01/2023 11:05

Thank you I feel okay, but a bit gassy. I normally never burp but nearly chucked last night, so that's new! Hopefully it doesn't develop and it was more my breath caught funny! 😂

I am nervous, excited just all the feelings!

MillieKitty · 10/01/2023 14:46

Massive Congratulations @PPop 🤗 so happy for you

PPop · 12/01/2023 08:23

Thank you @MillieKitty

How is everyone else doing?

MillieKitty · 12/01/2023 09:59

I have my office NHS scan later this afternoon, I'm 13+1, I am so nervous for it! Will update everyone, hope everyone's okay

MillieKitty · 12/01/2023 10:00

Official * I mean!

Mortima · 12/01/2023 10:30

Oh good luck @MillieKitty, will be thinking of you this afternoon!

I'm ok thanks @PPop, just miserable with the relentless nausea. I've tried 3 different medications from GP without success, and they don't want to try me on anything else for the moment, so I'm just waiting and hoping it will ease soon. I feel really guilty as I'm off work, but just can't focus on anything and have no energy. However, some women don't get nausea at all, so I hope I'm not scaring you! Have you told anyone else your news yet?

PPop · 12/01/2023 10:51

@Mortima we have told parents this far, close friends/family we don't feel the need to be too secretive as our families are support systems! I haven't felt anything much but today I have this odd like poking feeling in my right, it's not sore just uncomfortable a my boobs are grim in general right now!

Went to docs yesterday and my bloods came back today HCG 109!!!

Wrenegade · 12/01/2023 11:37

@MillieKitty will be thinking of you this afternoon, lots of luck.

@Mortima I’m sorry that you’re struggling, I can definitely relate to everything you’re going through. I’m also finding it debilitating, the nausea and sickness is relentless. I’m sorry you’re not having the early pregnancy experience you hoped for, it is ok to be disappointed. Remind yourself you have genuine reason not to be at work, I imagine you would be understanding of any of your colleagues in the same situation. How many weeks are you now?

@PPop ahh it is so exciting getting to tell people and seeing their reactions. Has it sunk in for you yet?

I just got my letter through for my 12 week scan on the 31st Jan. I was told recently I shouldn’t even expect a letter till 13 weeks so feeling really relieved to have a date.

PPop · 12/01/2023 11:40

@Wrenegade how exciting! That isn't too far away! I was told when they did my midwife referral that it is about 10 weeks until she will contact me! I am debating doing the early scan at somewhere called peek-a-baby!

@MillieKitty looking forward to hearing about you scan!

We will need to do an offshoot thread for the follow on stuff!

ScaredSally · 12/01/2023 13:04

I had a scan and amniocentesis yesterday (15+5) now I start the dreaded wait for results... should be 2-3 weeks but the anxiety is crippling!

Mortima · 12/01/2023 16:34

@Wrenegade Thanks for your kind words - how are you getting on with HG post-hospitalisation? I'm 9 weeks according to LMP but I think probably more like 8 in reality - time is going incredibly slowly at the moment! Glad you've got your scan date, that's quite soon - mine is 7th of Feb so not long behind you.

@ScaredSally Oh gosh, that does sound a long time to wait - can I ask what prompted the amnio? Sending love

MillieKitty · 12/01/2023 16:39

Saw a very wriggly and active baby so all looks good! Was such a relief

Your scan is so soon @Wrenegade ! How time flies
