TTC a first

Just a thread for those of us TTC for the first time, but also anyone else that wants to join really!
We’re currently TTC baby no.1 and just on cycle #1 too, but DH and I both have health conditions that may make it difficult so I’m already driving myself crazy.

Im usually like clockwork but this month, of all months, AF was due 4 days ago and there’s no sign yet
Obviously every test I’ve done is negative though.

just looking for anyone to keep me company really whilst I obsessively check other peoples line eyes posts!

@Thatskindafun I think it’s normal to fluctuate from googling and it doesn’t mean I’m out yet so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

So I’m going mad. I did a test this morning (8dpo) and I left it on the side and went to work, I just thought it wouldn’t show anything. Now I looking at it in some
detail (line eyes could be happening) I can’t unsee the shadow of a pink line. I’ve gone for a walk and everything and come back to it etc. It’s been so long since I took it it’s probably just an evap line. I’m going insane!

Do you have any FRER to test with tomorrow? Fingers crossed for you !!

@ScarletDreams no only a mommed cheapie!! I showed a photo to my friend and she can see it too! But it might be an evap! So frustrating seeing it after so many hours! Will see how tomorrow morning goes (9dpo) but won’t rule myself out until 11dpo incase it just needs more time!

I can definitely see what you mean, mine are always as white and clear as snow and this one does have a mark
as you say it could be evap, it’s hard to tell from the pic but also it might not be!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you
let us know about your test tomorrow
maybe wait until Saturday it might be more clear.

@UserL95 @Thatskindafun thank you both!! I’ve inverted the photo, changed the contrast to check I’m not seeing things!! I’ve never really had an evap either before and I did one this evening (on very diluted wee and there wasn’t an evap then)

I know I half think to wait until 10dpo but I don’t think I can wait! Tomorrow is either going to be really happy or utterly heartbreaking!!

Nooo not heartbreaking
even if it’s not a bfp tomorrow it doesn’t mean you’re out, it just means you’re only 9dpo!
i really hope it confirms your positive news though

Bfn this morning within the time frame! I am going to retest tomorrow though incase it needs more time/more hormone! 🤦🏼‍♀️ been reading how coloured evaps are sometimes “chemical” in that you didn’t quite implant / make enough hcg.

@Bananatoast123 youre still early DPO yet - don’t forget average to get a reliable bfp is 11dpo! You’re not out, but it’s okay to feel shit about it too. It’s also okay to give yourself a break from the stress and the pressure. I hope you are okay xx

@UserL95 I know I’m not out yet and you’re right it is 11dpo! It’s just so frustrating isn’t it when you feel like you’re doing everything and luck or nature isn’t on your side!!

I also just feel with the boozeyness of Christmas and chaos of it all, I feel like it won’t happen in December anyway 🤣 probably me saying this will make it happen!

Don’t you ever wish you could have someone tell you what month you’ll get your BFP so you can just forget about it and enjoy life again?

@Bananatoast123 im praying for you! For all of us! So crazy what so many couples go through. I feel like a right idiot as I remember even 3-4 years ago thinking oh my periods are like clockwork I’ll get pregnancy straight away as soon as I’m ready. How WRONG I was. It’s kind of ridiculous thinking bank.

id pay someone very good money to tell me when I’d get my BFP, imagine how much pressure would be lifted. If you find that person; please let me know!! Haha

@UserL95 this is so true, I think it’s because it’s drilled into us to be careful and avoid pregnancy, it makes you think it must be so easy to fall pregnant! Also people don’t really talk about it so it seems like it’s easy for everyone else. I would love to know what month I’ll get a BFP!

@UserL95 @buttercupbee yesss!! I had the same thoughts too, I used to panic I was pregnant years and years ago if my period came late and I was on contraception…. Laughable really as I can’t even get a BFP now!!

I do think you only hear the “we caught straight away” or “we had to do IVF”… you never heard about the people in between! I still have a friend who tells me to “relax” and how “stress will have a negative impact” and I’m like “have you started trying? No so come back to me when you have” 🤣

Yes it’s crazy! If years ago a friend had told me they’d had unprotected sex I’d be like omg. Well you’re definitely pregnant then. Nevermind if it had actually been around ovulation.

it just seemed like it was so risky, of course if you had unprotected sex you would get pregnant.
i think that was the weirdest thing for me the first month after over a decade of being paranoid.

Why is this so damn hard??
Im coming into my fertile days now, but trying not to be so pressured this cycle.
I wish more people felt comfortable talking about their stories, I think it would be so helpful for many of us x

@Bananatoast123 one of my close friends told me recently it took her 4 months to conceive her now 3 year old, I was quite shocked as I remember assuming at the time she had just fallen straight away. I feel so bad that I wasn’t there for her when she was going through what I am now, but obviously I didn’t know at the time x

@UserL95 I am so the same! My OH’s cousin told me within a convo the other month how it took them 3 years and 2 MC for their first and in that moment I was so grateful for her sharing that with me, and she has no idea how it made me feel! I just don’t get why it isn’t our time yet!!

Random as not everyone’s into it but have you tried manifesting to help the mental side of things? I think that’s where I need to focus my energy as I do a lot for physical but not mental!

@buttercupbee that’s it isn’t it, how you always assume it’s easy for someone. It really is one of those where you don’t know someone’s journey for how they got to where they did!

Soooo I took a FRER and I’ve got the faintest of lines within the 3 minutes! 🥹 at first I thought it’s a BFN but as it caught the light I was like hang on! Asked the OH to look and he sees it too when you get a light on it! Early days as 10dpo so keeping my fingers crossed for progression tomorrow…. Either will be a chemical and such a heartbreak or the happiest news I’ve ever got!!!

Get that cough syrup down you girls!!
