TTC a first

Just a thread for those of us TTC for the first time, but also anyone else that wants to join really!
We’re currently TTC baby no.1 and just on cycle #1 too, but DH and I both have health conditions that may make it difficult so I’m already driving myself crazy.

Im usually like clockwork but this month, of all months, AF was due 4 days ago and there’s no sign yet
Obviously every test I’ve done is negative though.

just looking for anyone to keep me company really whilst I obsessively check other peoples line eyes posts!

@Staciejade54 no I did mean @Beth290fox - I saw no-one had responded!

@Staciejade54 how are you getting on anyway?? I’m CD5 and trying to focus this month a bit more!

Beth290fox · 23/10/2022 21:35

@Bananatoast123 the app confirmed my ovulation much later than I expected so I think it's unlikely this month. Still a small chance though I've just got to wait for AF to arrive or not. Another week to go.. fingers crossed for us all! X

Emmalou0607 · 23/10/2022 23:33

Hey! Late to join this three but TTC #1 and already panicking what is somethings wrong. Just starting our 4th cycle trying (first cycle missed ovulation due to DH having Covid and cycle 3 I had Covid over ovulation time although we still tried.) in reality I know I’m probably being silly and impatient but it’s the unknowns

Thatskindafun · 24/10/2022 00:09

I’ve got the flu! Due to ovulate next week so I’m hoping I’m better soon because otherwise I can rule this month out.
am I insane to not be tracking my ovulation properly though? I just go on when my app suggests
I’ve got PCOS so I heard the sticks won’t work, and the temperature thing seems too much work when I don’t get up at the same time each day? Is there another way?

OP posts:
Thatskindafun · 24/10/2022 00:11

@Emmalou0607 i think that’s the scariest thing, if someone said oh try for a year or even two and I guarantee you’ll be able to have a baby at some point in that time. I’d be able to take the disappointment or the stress of it not working each month, but it’s the worrying about what if.
it sounds like you’ve only had 3 potential cycles so far though and two were with covid! So please don’t worry it’s still early days

@Thatskindafun totally understand you saying about the guarantee within 1-2 years.

Im 6dpo and symptom spotting like craaaazy. Feel emotional, more anxious, breaking out, wanting to eat the entire worrrrld. But I’m worried I’m just symptom spotting because I so badly want to believe I’ll get a BFP.

Bananatoast123 · 24/10/2022 08:30

@Beth290fox fingers crossed for you! I’m trying to bbt each morning but I keep forgetting!

@Emmalou0607 this happened to us! We both got covid two cycles and that was us out! Although on cycle 9 and I forget this and it makes it sound better that we are actually cycle 7!

@Thatskindafun @UserL95 you also hear where people try for a year and are missing their fertile period! I’m too impatient and a control freak to just be chilled for a year!

Oh gosh I’m the same during a TWW! I really hope this is the one for you!!

Emmalou0607 · 24/10/2022 08:41

@Thatskindafun you worded that perfectly. It's quite daunting thinking there's no guarentee and then only starting to try and forgive out other options years down the line if necessary. Hopefully won't be needed but it's certainly not a great feeling.

@Bananatoast123 I might have to start trying to think of it without the Covid months in cause you're right, it does sound better!!

Thatskindafun · 24/10/2022 13:01

Yep that’s exactly it for me, I’d be happy to wait if I knew it was definitely going to happen

@Emmalou0607 definitely think of it without the covid months! I think they’re unfair, you’ve only had one proper month to try

@Bananatoast123 thats what I worry I may do! But I think trying to schedule my life around temping may stress me out, which is also bad for fertility. Maybe I’ll give it a few more months and then start if no luck.

OP posts:
Bananatoast123 · 24/10/2022 14:36

@Thatskindafun yes if someone had a glass ball and said “you’ll get pregnant in x month” I’d be so chilled until then 🤣

I’m just trying to bbt this month to try capture my ovulation confirmation vs LH as I think it might show how long between my surge in LH and when I’m ovulating! I could be wrong in how it works but we’ve hit ovulation with dtd for days before and during for the last few months so wanted to triple check timings! I’ve not been LH testing for months but going to do it again this month as my cycles have stabilised to 29/30 days whereas before they were 26-29 so I want to check it is around CD16 and it’s that my LP has just lengthened!

UserL95 · 26/10/2022 09:25

I started testing from 6DPO (currently at 8DPO) stupid I know but I couldn’t help myself. Obviously all negative. Also trying not to lose hope. Also not that easy to do so. Just wish this wasn’t such a stressful process.

Anyone else on this thread in their TTW?

I’ve been looking up so much random stuff. Does RHR mean anything? When does blastocyte usually implant? What’s earliest day for BFP on internet cheapies? How to overcome POAS syndrome?

I think I’m going crazy!!! Lol

Bananatoast123 · 27/10/2022 08:42

@UserL95 I hope you’re okay! Try not let anything at 6DPO get you down!

I’ve read how even at 10dpo on your morning wee a test would only be 65% accurate (depending on brand) and how 11-14dpo is most accurate. A friend who’s a midwife once pointed out at 10dpo you’re only 3 weeks 3 days so it’s still very very early so remember you’re not out yet!

it’s really difficult isn’t it, so easy to just want to POAS so you know as soon as it happens and if it’s happened! I’m not on my TWW but I was just like this last month and it’s stressful! For me it’s the lack of control during TWW!

I hope you’re looking after yourself and try not let it overcome you too much!

UserL95 · 30/10/2022 00:14

I’m now 12DPO and had some slight light pink discharge. Been testing every morning getting bfn. Thinking this may be AF showing up now. Don’t know how much longer I can cope with these high emotions and disappointment.

Bananatoast123 · 30/10/2022 10:42

@UserL95 I hope you’re doing okay xx

Emmalou0607 · 30/10/2022 10:57

@UserL95 hope you're doing okay hugs

GEM429 · 30/10/2022 11:11

Hello.

Hopefully you don’t mind me joining.
Had coil removed 2 weeks ago after 3 years so no idea about my cycle when to expect AF or when to expect OV.

Just blindly trying but it’s hard not to be obsessive! ❤️

WanOvaryKenobi · 30/10/2022 11:51

Hi everyone! TTC age 30. Anovulatory PCOS, cycles are over 90 days long. Hoping for treatment soon.

Thatskindafun · 30/10/2022 15:06

@UserL95 hope youve got an answer soon!
welcome @GEM429 and @WanOvaryKenobi - has your dr given you a time frame? Fingers crossed it’s soon

Thank you! It’s so lovely being part of a community where everyone is facing the same thing xxx

WanOvaryKenobi · 30/10/2022 15:09

Thank you! I've had multiple blood tests and they've asked me to come in for a face to face appointment for referral. Will hopefully have an answer then and will update. Last I heard it was several months for gynaecology or endocrinology. As well as TTC I would also like to be monitored for related PCOS health conditions x

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:19

TWW started today 😩 hate the lack of control now!!

ScarletDreams · 03/11/2022 21:38

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:19

TWW started today 😩 hate the lack of control now!!

@Bananatoast123 hoping it passes quickly for you. sending baby dust ! Hoping this is your month !

I'm 7dpo today, the first 4 days went quickly and I'll be honest I was glad of a break from ovulation testing as with my shift patterns it's wasn't always easy to time right. But from day 4 I started overthinking every little possible symptom 🤦‍♀️ And it's absolutely dragging now.

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:49

@ScarletDreams I’m usually quite good on the TWW until around 8dpo and then I start thinking / trying to work out if it’s AF or pregnancy! But today I started worrying if something is wrong if we don’t manage it this month 🤦🏼‍♀️ given it’s been 9 months now!

Sending baby dust and lots of luck to you this month!

Lorigrimsley93 · 04/11/2022 00:30

Hello I’m new to the forum. I’m a female 29 trying to conceive. My AF is three days away. I usually have PMS including Sore boobs and cramps about a week before my period and this happens like clock work every month. I have not had any PMS symptoms this month. Could this be a sign of pregnancy??

Bananatoast123 · 05/11/2022 18:20

@Lorigrimsley93 hey! It could be! Have you taken a test?
